Ohayotaku
Everyone needs to make their own choices, but for me anime is one of the few things I continue to be interested in & enjoy for 40+ years. So I have no intention of giving it up regardless of what others think about it.
efaardvark
For me it is mostly entertainment. Entertainment and relaxation is necessary for mental health. As long as it doesn’t turn into escapism or obsession and take over your life then that’s a good thing. One of the things I look for in things like anime or books or movies is a good story based in reality - actual physics and realistic political and social expectations - that nevertheless manages to portray a positive outcome of some sort. At their best such stories can even inspire people to make them happen in real life. Even if it is a grim story of power and corruption gaining an upper hand it can have a “good” outcome if it informs you on a topic or provides an actionable warning that keeps you out of trouble. Not everything is like that of course. As Sturgeon said, 90% of everything is crap. But if you seek out and focus on the other 10%, that tithe can make up for it and even be net positive, both on a personal and societal level. If you really enjoy doing something irrespective of what it is as long as you enjoy doing it, and it doesn't hurt anyone, carry on doing it. For me, I've been watching anime for almost 30 years and I'm going to carry on watching it. I don't think I've wasted my life and dreams by watching it, besides which I have other interests as well as anime, it's not the only thing I watch or am interested in. jessicajohnn
If you’re wondering “Should I continue watching anime?”, I’d say yes! If it makes you happy and helps you relax, then keep going. There are so many great stories, cool characters and fun moments to enjoy. Just watch at your own pace and pick shows you really like. Anime is meant to be enjoyed, not rushed. Keep watching if it makes your day a little brighter!
zeriiiclaire
I lost interest when the continuation of my favorites are on a very long hiatus or no assurance of new season/story.
Jellal
If it's not consuming your life and the only thing you're doing, then why not? It's just entertainment and TV. If you like watching it in your free time there's nothing wrong with that.
Kazuma Satou
It's up to you bro. i'm not a die hard anime fan either but i enjoy it so i watch them when i have free time. same goes for you... if you find it interesting and worth your time, watch it. if not move on to something that genuinely engages you. Personally i think your dreams should be the number one priority of your life and keep everything else under that
