This law is found in Alabama, Kentucky and Georgia and dates back to the time when horseback was the most popular way of transport. Horse thieves would put ice cream in their pockets to lure horses away without being charged with stealing. Every time I come on this thread I learn another bewildering fact I didn't even know you could lure a horse with ice cream and I grew up owning a ton of horses @.@ 1 1

I wouldn't have thought of using an ice cream cone as a lure for horses, but I do know that it works for seagulls!!! I would have thought that putting an ice cream cone in you back pocket could be quite a messy thing to do, personally I'd rather eat the ice cream cone (before the sea gulls get it) as I wouldn't really know what to do with a horse. 1
Zeref
Seagulls of many species have professions, which have names like piracy, fishing, scavenger etc. Virtually all seagulls have a main profession and can do a little bit of the others. The seagulls that steal your food while still flying are pirates and are specialized at taking food from other birds, such as fisherman-seagulls in the air. Notably some seagulls have a part time "farming" job where they pat their feet on the ground to attract worms from below the sand or grass. Inland Scavengers may not even spend much time near the sea, but coastal scavengers may never go near human civilization. It's only a small minority of seagulls that are fully specialised in any one profession, and no bird will do them all well.

I'm not so sure about seagulls not going near human civilization though, I regularly go on holiday to Burnham on Sea and there's often lots of seagulls around, and they're huge birds. 5 hours ago, Sakura said: Now I learn even the frikken seagulls are plotting Who knows what they are up to?! I'm getting concerned about this, first we have to worry about meese dropping from the sky, although we later found out it was just their poop that dropped from the sky not the meese themselves, now we have to worry about seagulls possibly taking over the world. Although at the moment they're just content with taking over any food item that people make the mistake of trying to eat outside. I have also noticed that seagulls do regularly launch bombing raids with their primary target being cars. While not causing as much structural damage as falling meese poop seagull poop can damage the paintwork if not removed quickly. 1

I think it meant there are 2 different types of seagull species one that spend more time near sea not interacting much with humans and a type of seagull species that does live near human population which is the one that plagues us all lol In Chicago we had these outside of the hot dog stands, they would dive bomb the people eating stealing fries and trying to take hot dogs regularly. 1

The list just keeps getting longer, at this rate not even sure I should go outside, but not even sure I'm safe inside They are probably using that food they steal to feed and build up their seagull armies. 5 hours ago, Zeref said: I think it meant there are 2 different types of seagull species one that spend more time near sea not interacting much with humans and a type of seagull species that does live near human population which is the one that plagues us all lol In Chicago we had these outside of the hot dog stands, they would dive bomb the people eating stealing fries and trying to take hot dogs regularly. YESSS LOLLL I remember that one that just launched itself into my hot dog and relish went flying everywhere LMAO Luckily the hot dog place replaced it but geeeeez, yeah, the seagulls in Chicago by the lakefront can be really annoying and they seem to follow the food trolleys around.
Zeref
They have also adapted to survive anywhere: Seagulls can drink both fresh and salt water. Most animals are unable to do this, but gulls have a special pair of glands right above their eyes which are specifically designed to flush the salt from their systems through openings in the bill.

Animedragon
Did you know that it is illegal for members of parliament to wear a suit of armour in parliament. The law was passed in 1313 by King Edward II and is still in force today. 1
Zeref
I wonder why this is a law too? Did someone scare the King with a suit of armor once?

Sakura
I guess that's a lot less interesting than what I pictured which was mostly people hiding in suits of armor to assassinate him or something, so he became suspicious of all suits of armor and would go round checking them all for little people trying to kill him until everyone thought he was crazy lmao
Otaking66lives
I thought it was because the loud sound of someone walking in armor would disturb the "sensitive" ears of the Lords of Parliament. LOL 1
Zeref
Did you know: An Ostrich's eyeball is larger than its brain and it can see up to 2.2 miles away (3.5KM). The ostriches eyes are so large they take up most of its skull leaving little room for a brain.
Animedragon
That's amazing. Apparently it's also not true that they stick their heads in the sand to hide from predators. 1
