I don't think I heard of this group before but it sounds nice and I like "back in the day" songs. Brings back memories.

I'm kind of in the middle. On the one hand, I really like video games, movies and all that, but on the other hand, I really like to know more about those things than the average person. I guess, that makes me a, Neek, or a Gerd, or whatever you want to call it.

I just watched this about a week ago, but A Silent Voice has given me a completely different view of other people's emotions. The characters are well developed, there's a well thought out storyline, and it made me think about reconnecting with some of my old friends that I haven't talked to in years. It made me see other people's emotions more clearly and relate to people better (I am an extremely introverted otaku) I would recommend it to everyone on this site.

I can't see why the GOW community is divided on this game. The integrity of the game is still there, along with the bloodthirsty, head cutting, sex having, Kratos we all know and love. The only difference I see is the story going in a little more deeper. In all the other GOW games it was the same thing, find the god, kill the god, rinse and repeat. We knew the back story, but it was had to keep that in mind when all you did was kill every 30 seconds. This one is different, his son, the story literally travels with you so you know why you're hacking ans slashing. The new GOW is going to be on a another level, not just because of Kratos coming back, because it'll show him in a different light that is bloody. Fatherhood.

8-tracks? It was a type of tape-based medium for recording audio. The infinite-loop tape mechanism was kind of bad though (it tended to stretch and/or mangle the tape, distorting or destroying whatever was recorded on it) and the technology didn't last long. When cassette tapes came along most people were happy to get rid of their 8-track players. Its main claim to fame was that it was the first mass-media technology that was (somewhat) portable. It was more compact than the only other medium at the time, vinyl records, and not nearly as susceptible to things like vibration or motion as a record player. It was popular in car stereo systems especially. For a few years anyway.

I've used Cannon Pixma on the low end side and Brother for the high end, both of them All-in-one's. Cancon if your looking for just a standard flatbed scanner. Mind you not going to get the best DPI/Res (2400 x 4800) but they work for small scale budget projects. You can step up for a little over $75 and get an Epson V39 with 4800 x 4800 DPI which is a little better. I stay away from HP (too many problems with drivers and software) and while I used Lexmark for a long time I've had problems with their printheads in certain models that made me move away from them as well. Anyway, quite a few cheap options, I'd just check out google or amazon. HIH Cheers.

Nice nod, know which series you enjoy. And yes and no to your question. While I would say 70% of my friends are into anime/games/manga/etc. the other 30% are not. Just like my money I tend to diversify. It is too bad that you couldn't find anybody to hang and talk with about your passion, but hey, you made it here and we all love to talk about it. So don't be shy, jump right on in and let your freak (anime that is) flag fly. Welcome Seb to the community. BTW: See that your a Necromancer, and you know they really get discriminated against. Okay and I thought I was the oldest here that still watched anime, but I tip my hat to you...was going to put a hat tipping emoji here but don't have one, ahem, think we need one, why yes I do. VHS or BETA...the world may never know. Remember how you had to pop the tab on the back of the cassette to keep people from recording over your stuff...ah, the good old days. Anyway to answer your question, I don't think that you're ever too old to watch anime, read manga, hit the cons, etc. Matter of fact I'm fresh off a con and while there I met a eighty year old man all cosplayed out and enjoying himself, walker and all. Spent his life, and life's fortune on anime, comics, manga and the like. Probably the oldest otaku I've ever met. Honestly, it's probably more of a mind set thing. If you feel you've reached that age where it holds no value, then your probably too old for it. If not, watch on my brothers and sisters, watch on. As for me, well let's just say when I hit the nursing home and crapping my depends I'll still be hovered over my old fashioned vision box watching them out of date DVD's of nothing but anime. This is an interesting topic idea and if you don't mind I'm going to jack it and talk about it in RL with giving proper credit of course. Cheers.

I have some regrets which are a bit too personal to share on here.. however I learned from them afterword and became much stronger and much wiser about things.

I don't think I'll ever get too old to watch and like Anime. I grew up with it and it has a special place in my heart and I'll never get tired of it. If however I don't watch it all the time like I used to doesn't mean I still don't like it or into it. Life happens and I've also have other passions of mine I enjoy doing.

Lemony Snicket - All the Wrong Questions - Book 3 - Shouldn't You Be In School? Prequel to the "Series of Unfortunate Events", following Snicket in his younger days, when he first joins the V.D.F.! It's enjoyable, same sort of satirical writing you'd find with Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchet, although written for a younger audience! I read that Netflix is in the process of making a television series to "Series of Unfortunate Events", with Barney from How I Met Your Mother (Neil Patrick Harris) playing Count Olaf, who was previously played by Jim Carrey in the movie, Supergirl (the younger) from CBS' Supergirl (Malina Weissman) playing Violet, who was previously played by Emily Browning in the movie, and Jeff from Rules of Engagement (Patrick Warburton) playing Lemony Snicket, which will probably be quite different to Jude Law's perfomance in the movie! It's a bit unfair that Count Olaf will be going up again a Krytonian..., oh wait, Malina Weissman will not be an alien from another galaxy this time !
