  1. I remember the show about Mr Ed the talking horse, I only saw a few episodes of it though.
  2. The postman delivered my latest acquisition this morning. My Place Further Than the Universe Blu-ray collector's edition box set. As well as the complete series on two Blu-ray disks it also came with two soundtrack CDs, a set of four postcards, a poster and a booklet. So, no prizes for guessing what I'm going to start watching tomorrow.
  3. Just finished rewatching Kanon, the "Uguu" is strong in that one. A great series with a good storyline it's quite sad in places but has a happy ending for everyone.
  4. Squirrels. I get quite a few visiting my garden and it's great fun watching their antics. Every so often a new one comes along and it never fails to amuse me watching them learn the hard way that my bird feeders are totally squirrel proof. The regulars don't even look at the bird feeders, squirrels are smart, squirrels learn.
  5. Welcome aboard the forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  6. My favourite is the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. There is of course some debate about the historical accuracy of the Arthurian legends and it's one of those legends that has been added to and embellished over the centuries. Some historians claim that the legend is based on a real tribal leader named Arthur, others maintain that the whole legend is just a story and King Arthur never actually existed. This does not stop many English people, especially in Somerset, from believing that that he was a real historical figure. nor did it stop the monks of Glastonbury Abbey from announcing that they had found his tomb. I've even visited the site of it in the remains of Glastonbury Abbey.
  7. I guess our best hope for not ending up in an alien's sandwich is that they find we're poisonous to them.
  8. I've had a few "interesting" experiences with cooking where things haven't quite turned as I expected. On the plus side they have at least all been just about edible, which is good because I don't like wasting food.
  9. But surely as an ambassador he'd have diplomatic immunity. Always assuming that the aliens respected such protocols. Is anyone else here old enough to remember watching the TV Sci-fi series "V" ?
