  1. What question do you hate to answer?
  2. What are you addicted to, if I may ask?
  3. Actually, now that @brycec brought it up, what kind of fries would you be? The fat chunky kind with the squiggly shape or the thin and smooth McDonald's kind?
  4. Boku no Pico - Avoid Nothing against real life traps or anything, but given its reputation, I don't think it's my type of anime.
  5. It's a fun gimmick, but I don't expect it to be anything but a gimmick till a decade later. The VR console only got released in recent years and it still doesn't feel like the actual VR we dream of, as in being able to move around in the game environment like you're actually there. It's not that I don't support such gimmicks, but I'm realistic about how long it takes for these things to be worth my money. I don't think we're quite there in the age of VR yet. I say we're still a few years off at the very least.
  6. Yeah, you kinda already did by bringing it up in the first place. But I don't really want to start an argument, so I'll stop there. Anyway, what I really want to talk about is Virtue's Last Reward. I know I've already reviewed it in the visual novel thread... but that's before I got to the True Route, which had an even bigger slap in the first than every route before. See, a big part of the game is about whether if you choose to ally or betray the people you are trapped with, right? Well, there's one AB round where you're given the choice of allying or betraying Phi... Guess what happens if you choose to Ally anyway? She automatically tells you that you've betrayed her in an alternate universe. WHAT THE ACTUAL F***?! REALLY?! Why the hell would you give me the choice between Ally and Betray if the default canon is that I might have chosen Betray in another timeline? And that's not all! Oh ho ho, it gets much better - you can't progress with the game UNLESS you chose Betray once. SERIOUSLY?! What the hell?! Such a stupid option. Worst, game, ever, due to the above reason and all the other reasons I've already mentioned in the visual novel thread (on how mediocre and tedious the story and gameplay is and how badly written some of the endings are). Also something I forgot to mention in the visual novel thread: the stupid loading screen. Everytime Sigma travels to another location in the warehouse, there's a stupid map screen that takes forever just to show Sigma moving from Position A to Position B, including pointless scenes that show the door opening and closing (for every single room that he goes through) and pointless scenes where Sigma waits for the elevator to arrive. It's obviously there so that the game could load in the background, like the stupid elevator sequences in Mass Effect. At least the elevator sequence in ME has funny conversations to kill the time, unlike Virtue's Last Reward here. Such a horribly tedious game that I would be glad I'm done with by the time I'm done. Phew. Alright, rant over.
  7. Finishing up the final route of Virtue's Last Reward... and I'm f-ing pissed. It's such BS game design. The choices mean NOTHING at all!

  8. That pretty much sums up my feelings towards most American mainstream audiences of anime. Whenever I see them talk about anime in talk shows and YouTube videos, you would only see them talk about some of the most overrated ones. Singapore's anime convention has a similar problem, in that only popular anime like SAO are showcased. I mean, I don't want to act like some kind of pretentious know-it-all, but c'mon. Good anime don't just consist of Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Attack on Titan.
  9. Hah, that would be nice. I admit that I can be quite a lazy student, so I might doze off often during the lessons, but training to be a detective? I'm kinda interested. I would give it a shot, but the thing is, I feel like this kind of thing would require both talent and innate intelligence, not something you could just pick up a book and become a natural at, so I'm not really sure if it's there's much point to training someone like me. I also don't have the greatest patience or willpower. A lot of people say that Batman's superpower is his money, but to be accurate, it's his insane amount of willpower. He's only able to train himself into that kind of super human who could go against powered beings like Darkseid and even Superman because of his willpower. I don't have that in me, so halfway through the lessons, I would either get bored and become distracted, or the detectives would give up on this piss-poor student. lol The best I could become is a Watson, a Robin, or one of those Baker Street Irregulars.
  10. First time I'm the only member online... You know what they say, there's a first for everything. :P

  11. Yep. The avatar wasn't from the wallpaper though. I think it was a Playstation user avatar from the Steins;Gate 0 game on PS4.
  12. Okay, never mind. I made a mistake. The deadline is tomorrow, so it's one day and 9 hours. My bad.
  13. Alright, folks. Real exciting and interesting discussion, I have to admit. You've made some great points, and since you've put in so much effort at it, I'll give you a little breadcrumb: @Nectar, you're on the right track. But just a small reminder: "voting season" is, well, tonight, meaning that the votes are closed in about 9 hours. I haven't seen any votes yet, so if I've missed your vote, please tag me and remind me again. Thanks. I'm thinking of extending the voting period to a week, however, since three days might be a little tight for people to vote. What do you think?
  14. And I thought my reviews were long. You clearly have more patience than me in writing your reviews, and more fluent in getting your point across too.
  15. I am your (cancer cells)^1000, and I have come to love you. It's better to have ______ and _______ than to have never _______ at all.
  16. Like a certain mad scientist so cool? I would give up pretty easily. Two reasons: 1. The more obvious reason is that I have way less patience than the average person, let alone a fictional character whose sole purpose is to endure suffering. 2. I don't have any loved ones who would be killed like Okabe, so if I'm to prevent something, I'd probably prevent something stupid or of less importance. If I have the power of time travel, the most I would do is tell myself to work harder at school and make something of myself, something that, if unsuccessful, is disappointing, but not important enough to go through a hundred or thousand worldlines. I wish I know. I wish I have more brevity, to tell you the truth. Verbosity is the bane of charismatic responses. I guess all I do is type whatever's on my mind onto my computer. Even when I don't have a lot of say about a subject, I try to write as much as I can to contribute to the discussion. This is especially true with my movie reviews. I hate writing short reviews because it makes me look lazy. I want to inform my readers as much about the movie as I can while keeping the review interesting, and maybe even playful. I don't really think it's my duty, but I do feel a certain obligation to be informative, and more importantly, sincere. Another reason is that I have trouble expressing myself properly, so I keep rephrasing or repeating myself in hopes of getting my point across. I would worry a lot whether if I've made clear what I want to say, even as I'm typing this right now.
  17. Don't give the Traitor any ideas.
