  1. @ZilaI hadn’t watched it yet, but will check it out.
  2. My overall favorite would be Cowboy Bebop. I also have a lot of nostalgia for Space Battleship Yamato aka Star Blazers because that’s where it all started for me. Robotech too, even though it’s a bastardization of 3 unrelated series. As far as series that are just flat out epic I would recommend Vinland Saga & Fate Zero. Highly recommend the 2019 remake of Fruits Basket. Humor can be highly subjective but some of my favorites are Azumanga Daioh, School Rumble, Asobi Asobase & Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun. I don’t hate on SAO, but I don’t consider it anything special either. I watched all the versions through GunGale Online Alternative, but dropped fairly early into Alicization because it just felt too pretentious. Might give it another chance someday, but not a priority. Just checked your MAL & saw Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater listed I enjoyed that one too. On a related note you might like Yuru (Laidback) Camp. Afterschool Dice Club & Mieruko-chan. And since you liked Konosuba I recommend Louie The Rune Soldier & The Hero is OP but Overly Cautious (Cautious Hero)
  3. Made it though the first ep of the live action Cowboy Bebop series. 😑

Not so much bad as meh. Has a totally different feel to it than the anime, but that’s a given. They started incorporating the larger drama into into it from the get go instead of letting you get attached to the characters before hitting you with the feelz which to mind is more impactful. My biggest complaint is the fight choreography feels clunky (guess I was hoping for more Jackie Chan caliber). And you can tell it’s a western project because they’ve increased the amount of cursing 😂  For what it’s worth, I started the 2nd ep & it’s at least somewhat better.

I personally don’t get the need for doing live action adaptions (not just anime, but like the Disney remakes as well though I did  enjoy the first Maleficent movie. Then again, my own personal fascination/appreciation is with animation as a medium/artform. And now Netflix has live action adaptions of One Piece & Yuyu Hakusho in the works 😱

  4. It’s definitely iconic, but not a personal fave. I would recommend the tv series first as the rebuild movies are even more confusing with no prior exposure, even though they’re supposed to be a stand alone alternate version. Personally I think Mari is really the only thing the rebuild movies have going for them end of detour
  5. Welcome to the forums I’ve been watching anime in some form or another for around 40 years, but have no indication of ever “outgrowing” it I’m pretty varied in the type of anime I watch, but favorite genres tend to be fantasy or supernatural. More details on my profile here or MAL account. Yeah, not a fan myself Truth be told, I have a hard time staying invested in mega-series that go on continuously. Around 26 eps & then a break is probably my ideal. Even the ones I follow across multiple seasons tend to lose their spark after awhile. But that’s just my personal take. Anyway, hope you enjoy it here
  6. bring it in, bro Pretty sure it’s Rei from Evangelion.
  7. It depends really. I can’t say I dislike the genre as a whole due to the fact that Cardcaptor Sakura is on my alltime top 20. I also enjoyed Princess Tutu & Petite Princess Yucie quite a bit. Expand the definition a bit more & there are even more titles I like (Magic Knight Rayearth, Kobato, Little Witch Academia, Madoka, etc). As to PreCure, I don’t really get the hype. The versions I tried to watch never made it past the 3 ep point with the exception of Tropical Rouge (currently on my hold list). Even in that case, it’s impossible not to be aware that I am NOT the target audience Very cartoonish, but I still get a certain enjoyment from it. Same as with the Hanna Barbera cartoons I grew up (derivative & corny as hell, but I have so many lines of dialogue committed to memory )Laura’s probably my favorite character, reminds me Konosuba’s Aqua, but somehow not annoying I think the genre for me that matches your level of dislike is the idol or I-want-to-be-a-celebrity ones. But even there, there are exceptions (Zombie Land Saga, Carole & Tuesday, Kageki Shojo)
  8. Just curious if anyone’s tried to watch the Netflix series & what their thoughts are
  9. Totally chill Not familiar with the game, but yeah really powerful
  10. A recent addition Takt & Cosette from Takt op.Destiny (they’re playing a duet on the piano if you can’t tell from the image)
  11. I’m assuming you mean Death March to a Parallel World. So, Isekai, OP MC & Harem elements. I’d recommend The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar and How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord. As a caveat, I didn’t make it very far into any of these series, because not really my style.
  12. Eternals have to agree with the general consensus that it wasn’t as enjoyable as a typical Marvel movie. I think it tried to be too ambitious for it’s own good, plus the flashbacks felt awkwardly placed & the big reveals happened too early making the movie seem overly long. Also too many heroes to really develop, many of whom felt derivative of “that other company’s”characters. They even made jokes about Ikaris being Superman for all intents & purposes (also Thena = Wonderwoman & Makkari = Flash). I don’t know about it being the worst Marvel movie, but certainly subpar & it’s higher aspirations just made the shortcomings more noticeable.
  13. My impressions at the midpoint of the season Favorites: 86 (2nd cour) Mushoku Tensei (2nd cour) Mieruko-chan The Faraway Paladin Decent but Overhyped: Komi Can’t Communicate Ranking of Kings OK: The Great Jahy will not be Defeated Taisho Otome Fairytail My Senpai is Annoying Mixed Feelings: Takt op.Destiny Rumble Garanndoll World’s Finest Assassin isekai Disappointing: Irina, The Vampire Cosmonaut Sakugan Platinum End Bad, but still kinda entertaining: Tesla Notes Fruit of Evolution Pride of Orange Just Bad: The Vampire Dies in No Time Muteking Deep Insanity Visual Prison Waiting on: Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc Heike Story (binge?) Lupin III (binge?) Overall: Better than the summer season, but not as good as Winter & Spring.
  14. I have my best friend in highschool to thank for turning me onto them & Phil … and Rush
  15. I made like 3 separate attempts to watch Index, kinda doubt there’ll be a 4th I only made one attempt at Railgun so far & my recollection is it was at least somewhat more enjoyable. I remember it took a couple tries before I managed to get through Baccano too. Right now I’m watching way more currently airing series than I provably should I kinda came to streaming late, so I guess watching episodes as they air is still something of a novelty to me, though it’s gradually wearing off. Gotta take on my backlog/PTW list eventually
