The season has barely started & I’ve yet to watch Komi but takt op.Destiny is contender for my favorite new (non-sequel) show of the season Of course 86’s second cour is my top pick overall.

Autumn/Fall is my favorite season & I love Halloween. Also supernatural is one of my favorite genres when it comes to anime. So, thought I would take this opportunity to list some of my favorite and me that fit the mood this time of year: Soul Eater (shounen/action) Hellsing Ulltimate (horror/blood & gore) Shiki (horror/suspense) Mushishi (supernatural/philosophical) Higurashi: When They Cry (also Kai, Gou, Sotsu) (curse/torture & murder) Dorohedoro (dark humor/graphic violence) The Ancient Magus Bride (fantasy/romance) Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun (shonen/comedy) Little Witch Academia (also The Enchanted Parade & TV series) (adventure/comedy) Princess Resurrection (harem/horror movie tropes) XXXHolic (supernatural/cautionary tales) Ushio & Tora TV series (shonen/supernatural) Kakurenbo (supernatural/suspense) So, anyone care to share your own Halloween favorites or comment on any that I mentioned?

It’s certainly fits right in with the season I normally binge watch some older supernatural or horror series around Halloween, but this year there are already a lot of currently airing series that fit the bill.

Watched the 1st episode of Taisho Otome Fairytale. Definitely got some Ai Yori Aoshi & Shinigami Bocchan vibes. Was very surprised to recognize the tune Yuzuki & the MC’s mom sings as the same as an old time hymn, with different words.

Halloween Mixtape (Anime Edition)

Started watching, but never finished. Not bad, but didn’t really hold my interest. I would definitely recommend Attack on Titan if you haven’t been watching. And there’s a fairly obscure older title called Pumpkin Scissors I liked somewhat.

I largely came to accept Arthur’s Don Quioxte style delusions & Glasses bro’s lack of fashion sense. But poor Tamaki pretty much got reduced to being a walking wardrobe malfunction That & mechanic guy’s creepy/weird inventions

Given her fondness for EXPLOSIONs it’s practically a certainty. At least not a mushroom cloud. Let’s be honest here: If you’re buying bags of candy before October, it’s NOT for trick-or-treaters

@Hanna Fechik Maybe? I don’t make as strong a connection as with most mecha series or FMA, but the central characters are acting in the safety & defense of the public. There’s actually some infighting between the various divisions because of different loyalties (one is more loyal to the military, another to the “church”, another to corporations, etc). The one central to the story is actually geared more to weeding out corruption in the other divisions while trying to adhere to the ideal of public defense & protection. One of the female members is actually from a high ranking military family & there was some bad blood over her joining the force instead of the military. The series has a lot going for it, but unfortunately the creator’s sense of humor offends some people & I personally feel it detracts from the other aspects pretty frequently. Not just because of ecchiness, but because it saps the momentum/adrenaline at times and makes it feel immature. Definitely shonen instead of seinen. I rated both seasons 7 but it could be 8 or 9 with better focus IMO.

When I was younger I could pull off Dwight Schrute, now I’m more George Costanza OK, strange story: one morning I woke up with my ring finger curled under & the joint locked up where I couldn’t straighten it. As the day went on, it loosened up where I could move it, but would get a jolt of pain if I put too much pressure on it. This happened every morning for 6 months to a year. Don’t remember injuring or straining it. Wondered if maybe I was sleeping with that hand under the pillow. Doctor seemed to think it was just arthritis. Don’t know exactly how long it went on because one day I started to tell someone about it & realized that it hadn’t for awhile. Still have no clue why it started or stopped

@Zila geez, hope you feel better. I got the jab in August & was lucky enough to just have a sore shoulder a couple days. Waited so long because I have a bad record with side effects as well, the worst probably being when I took Cipro & the whole left side of my body went numb (not paralyzed, more of a novocaine feeling). Not my weirdest story though. Shortly after I moved to my current house after my dad died my mom was staying with me. I came home from work to have lunch with her & saw a strange car in my driveway & a couple police cars parked out front. After the initial feel of panic, I asked the police what was happening. They said they noticed the driver acting “suspicious” on the highway & followed them. When the car pulled onto my street & into my driveway, they parked across the street to observe. When they didn’t get out of the car after several minutes they went to question them. They said they were meeting someone who bought a stereo off Craigslist from them. Looking into it, the driver’s license was susoended & they found stolen property in the vehicle. Fortunately mom was ok, actually at the back of the house & didn’t even know anything was going on Then earlier this year, I got home from work & as I was unlocking the door, a strange car followed by the police pulled into my driveway. Seeing me give the guys in the other car a WTF? look, the police officer asked if I knew who they were. I said “Nope”, ducked inside the house & locked the door. Two more police cars arrived & they were in my driveway for an hour & a half. Later learned the car had been reported as stolen & they found drugs in the car. I’m seriously thinking I need to get rid of my Welcome mat

Watched the 1st ep of Takt op.Destiny. A fantasy (scifi?) series about using classical music to fight alien/extra-dimensional monsters. Anna certainly has her hands full dealing with Takt & Cosette’s eccentricities This one was definitely entertaining.

I watched it as well. I generally like anime with supernatural themes but need to watch some more episodes to make up my mind about it. I enjoyed the first ep of Irina, Vampire Cosmonaut. A decent attempt has been made to try & adhere to the historical timing of events, albeit with different names. The set up being that after the experimental launch using Laika, the Soviets intend to use a vampire (seem to be treating them more as mutations/aberrations than invulnerable supernatural creatures) as the next test subject. The reasoning being she is human enough to provide useful data, but still considered subhuman, so they don’t need to be overly concerned about her safety or ethical treatment. And even though I haven’t really been a fan of Digimon, giving Ghost Game a try.
