  1. Let's just start off with the fact that the only thing SAO and .Hack have in common is the no logging out and death situation. Any anime that gears towards an online MMORPG storyline will have at least those two key elements in common. .Hack series starts off with the main protagonist waking up in The World without any recollection of who he is and how he got there. Then the, "Oh shit." moment happens when he realizes he cannot log out. Unlike, SOA where everyone starts to realize they cannot log out and even get a lovely announcement as to how and why. Setting aside the death patterns from both series; the main storyline is completely different. .Hack is a deep-rooted story about the creator of The World and his reasons for creating an AI and the truths behind the virus of users dying left and right when they'd be removed from the game in real life. On top of that, it focused on many common mental conditions of the world. Such as anxiety, depression, anti-social, etc.. Opposed to SOA where it's some douche who wanted some form of revenge or had some thought. Then that other season where there's a damsel in distress and the hero goes to save her. SAO is pretty much a light anime when it's pinned up against .Hack. Also, the main character in .Hack/Sign is female. I get why the "comparisons" were made, but if this comparison was done..then it should have included all video-game based animes. SOA and .Hack were not the only ones. >Hack just happened to be the series that placed these kinds of shows in the anime map.
  2. What a fun question! I, honestly, don't rewatch a lot of animes unless it's a movie. Some I have seen many times is Nana and Sailor Moon. I'm either introducing a female friend of mine or just having a nostalgic phase. I also have rewatched Robotech and Gunda Wing/00 once.
  3. Excuse me for not reading the “ai/yuri” part properly. That’s on me. Next time just let me know and I’d gladly fix my post to suit the topic. Now, for the recommendations on that topic: Whispered Words Revolutionary Girl Utena There’s a couple of others I cannot recall. I don’t watch much ai/yuri shows. I think I’ve read more though. With Utena, it is a very um old school show and complex. But it is a wonderful story.
  4. You know what I was stuck with Darion and Endymion, that I fused them together and created Damon. Idk. Lol. Such a blooper. On Naruto, my sentiments exactly.
  5. It was indeed. I think it's nice to have things to look forward to, not only with yourself but with others.
  6. Halsey was my first concert ever. Lol. At my age, it was long overdue! I had gone to a couple of others after like, Blackbear and Eden. These were with groups of friends. It was definitely an awesome experience and will be looking forward to going to another one of her concerts whenever she drops a new album.
  7. I listen to various genres. It's basically whatever floats by boat. There is always the specific genre I may be feeling more than others as well. When it comes to Halsey, I just love her as an artist and from what she's shown as a person. I did go to her concert last October and had a blast!
  8. Why not have an anthology section? It is strictly posting writings, poems, songs (written not links/youtube). If one is worried about the type of content, users should be required to put a rating onto their topic titles. I’m a veteran when it comes to forums, especially anime-based one. I’ve seen this be successful and if it hasn’t been overly active it is due to the lack of participation. For art there is already a gallery. But it would be fun for a request thread where users can make a request for avatars/sigs and artist can try it out. Idk just some thoughts for the future. I wnjoy seeing more user based interaction when it comes to sharing their writings amd art. It’s a fresh air from the usual general and anime chatter. Afterward: I do see groups exist here. So that can always be the outlet. But it is nice to see the forum itself have some small section for such. Can even be a couple of sub categories.
  9. Eesh. This one is a bit hard for me. Like, I know there have been several animes that have pulled at my emotional strings. Just cannot recall them all or specific scenes (been awhile since I've been touched..unless we talk of anime movies). When I was a young lass, the scene in Sailor Moon: Season 1, Episode 34: When the scouts and tuxedo masked were caught in a trap devised by Zoisite and the rainbow crystals were gathered. Ultimately it led to Damon being severely injured and Usagi in tears as she comes to the realization that they knew one another in their past lives. Thus, the epic song comes on and she finally transforms. I mean I was a little kid and I was so touched. Other shows I recall that I have had a moment of sadness with were: Nana Honey x Clover Orange Erased One Piece FMA - Major Hughes death. Naruto - Asuma's death.
  10. Magi Madoka is definitely a good favorite. I have yet to see them all though! It is amazing you are on your career path to something you love and seem so dedicated. May it all go well and that you have plenty of success in your journey. Welcome aboard and hope we get to know you more.
  11. @AniMeFReaK , I do like to make sure I address everyone. ♥(ノ´∀`) It is great to meet you! You seem pretty energetic and that is something I enjoy. So, I do hope to see you around as well. Thank you bunches for the welcome!
  12. @KeilynLocke, very much so about not knowing it was anime when I was a growing up. I use to watch Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon. Sometimes during middle school I met a friend who liked Sailor Moon and she use to draw on too of that. Later on became one of my best friends. She badically educated me on what anime was and the term otaku. Also, helped expand my love for anime via drawing and fanfiction writing. I grew up with anime syfy. When they showed a bit older content animes. Like King of North Star, Express Train 999...I think. Catpain Harlock you kmow? Also Ronin Warriors, Saint Saya, Robotech. Mind you some of these I’ve rewatched since i was a bit young to grasp much. But yeah, definitely hard to come across a person who knew what anime was and harder to find anime clubs.
  13. Ooo, the way you described it had me wanting to know more. I will definitely try to watch it tomorrow then. It is my day off and my kiddo will be in school and the hubby at work. So I have the day to myself! Lol. The moments of peace you strive for. But it’s the moment with them I live for. I’m so happy you’ve finally succeeded! @Roxeg, thanks so much!
  14. Oh wow. Lots of animes I have not heard of or have and have yet to watch. Oh, I will always love Ghost In The Shell. My favorite was the laughing man. I've watched plenty of shows along the lines of GITS. Brings back good memories. Lol. I'm honored someone as immortal as you have graced me with a welcome! Haha.
  15. I like to say the same of myself. But I do have my passionate moments of talking.
  16. @Wedgy , Omgosh congratulations to having such a precious joy that will soon enter this world. It is certainly both rewarding and stressful (especially if it's being a first-time parent). But it is all worth it when you see your child smile at you and look at you with unconditional love. May everything goes well when labor day comes. The whole watching what fits my mood is very much me lately and I do have long-term commitment issues with shows. So, I always look for those good but shorts. Then I whine about it being too short. Lol. Likewise on seeing you around gorgeous! I appreciate the time you've taken to welcome me and share a little about yourself!
  17. I was born and raised up until the age of 5 in Puerto Rico. It was a lovely place and sadly thanks to the devestations of hurricanes and lack of finances, it has seen better days. I am mostly Spanish and a third generation Indian on my father's side of the family. Currently, I reside on the East Side of the US of A.
  18. I must say, I do love your Cheshire avatar. Definitely a favorite feline of mine. I have enjoyed the wonderful users I've come across thus far. I was not much of a harem/reverse harem fan. But I will always enjoy Ouran Host and Love Hina when it came to harem. I do understand with finding decent crime/mystery animes. It's very rare and not often is there a good one. The last one I've enjoyed was Erased.
  19. I can agree with that statement. Even if Serial Experiments Lain was not a favorite of mine; it still had an impacting storyline that remains timeless. I'm starting to recall a bit on a particular reason on why I didn't like it so much. That was the way it transitioned with the random (yet meaningful) scenes and cuts to the next scene. To me back then it felt too random. Like the show was slow, yet had those random subliminal messages. Sorry if I'm rambling so much. Just recalling bits and pieces here.
  20. No, but that is a show I will be starting up soon. I've been told it's good. Ergo Proxy
  21. Himeji for sure! Mirai Nikki is a favorite anime in general and Yuki defined the word yandere. Lol. Death Note, lord...I both loved/loathed that series. Also, thanks so much for the kind words and wonderful welcome! Hello, fellow late 20s friend! It's great to know lovely people who have similar taste as me.
  22. Unfortunately, I have not read any manga as of late. I think it’s been a year or so. I do recall C.M.B & Q.E.D (since they go hand in hand). When it has come down to manga, I mostly tend to read shoujo, some shonen, drama, and just oddball ones.
  23. I'm a sucker for mystery/crime genre in any given field. Clannad series and OVAs are definitely a favorite growing up. I recall Baka & Test! I really did enjoy that show, man I had forgotten about it. Silly me. o(`^´*)
