  1. Started Fate Zero with friends (Re-Watch) Hyper-Psychic Geo Garaga Don't recommend this one! Kind of a short list this week! I'll probably continue with Dragon Ball this week and continue the next arch Also gonna show a Friend Zeta Gundam Really hope they like it...
  2. I don't think I ever had this problem. I mean I jumped decades between my first few shows from the remake of Star Blazers to the OG Mobile Suit Gundam and from Neon Genesis Evangelion to Toradora and so on. Even now I'm watched Dragon Ball, Galaxy Express and Ningen Fushin. (I know I'm pretty awesome!) I kind of just watch whatever regardless of the decade. But remember its okay to watch any anime you wanna watch. Unless its Cute Girls Doing Cute things then I have one thing to say to you... Its because of people like you that the anime industry keeps turning out casual trash! Embrace Mecha and Fighting Anime and stop... no delay the Cute Anime Girl Take Over! The rest is up to you!
  3. Code Geass Very good modern mecha series, one of my all time favourites has a similar vibe to Death Note, in that Lelouch vi Britannia is similar to Light Yagami, so if you enjoyed that you should enjoy this. Neon Genesis Evangelion This is a great series, a true classic and one of the best mecha series out their, its one of those classic elites shows which I think puts people off but regardless of that is a great show. Try to watch is in the original Japanese's or the ADV English dub if you can, the Netflix dub is horrible. Now on to Gundam recommendations. Naturally this is one of the larger series out their so I'd recommended the following first, mainly because their are self contained stories. Their are also alterative timelines, but we're getting ahead of ourselves and I'll try to keep this from being confusing. First Mobile Suit Gundam 8th MS Team Take place in the One Year War and follows the well... 8th MS Team and their missions during the war, really good show lots of large scale mecha fighting and a good story if one that may be a bit on the simplistic side, highly entertaining overall and a good place top jump in. Next Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Operation Stardust Memory Whilst a really good series, and the one that I first watched after the original OG Mobile Suit Gundam, it is also the one that works best by watching of both the original show and its sequel Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam as it kind of showcases the formation of the Titans and the Federations turn towards (Spoiler)... So maybe leave this one if you either don't want spoilers for Zeta but if you want to see peak 1980s/1990s mecha action give it a watch. Next Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket This is easier the best way to get into Gundam, a short OVA of 6 episodes that has a self contained story about a Zeon Commando squad infiltrating a fedie secret base where they are developing a... you guest it a Gundam. Its a good place to start, and one of my favourite Gundam and mecha shows in general. Lastly Mobile Suit Gundam Origin A prequel, of sorts, to Mobile Suit Gundam, exploring the backstory of characters such as Char, Salya, Amuro Ray and the Zabi Family. Filled with political drama and mecha action
  4. Okay so its been a minute since I last posted on here. PC had issues... Finally completed Death Note with my mates, was re-watching this one and it took forever. Sol Bianca Watched the Sol Bianca, wasn't the best film ever but it was severable plus Tiffany Grant was one of the dub actors and enjoyed her work in Evangelion. Fate Grand Order First Order Really enjoyed this fate film, RIP Director Olga Marie Animusphere Fate/Grand Order: Divine Realm of the Round Table Camelot 1 Wandering; Agateram and Camelot 2 Paladin; Agateram Enjoyed these films, they where action packed and filled with heroic servants doing battle. Bounty Dogs No gifs of this one. Its a really obscure OVA from the late 90s. Famously has the "Yellow-Green" filter over every scene. Also started Ningen Fushin This one really cool but is currently airing And got to the Commander Red Arch of Dragon Ball RIP General Blue
  5. Gundam Movies? Well these are the ones I've personally watched beyond the ones I've mentioned before in this thread Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway Flash (This will be a trilogy but only the first part is released) Thunderbolt Films; Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower And these are the films I haven't watched yet... Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team: Miller's Report Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon Seed Films; Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Special Edition The Empty Battlefield, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Special Edition The Far-Away Dawn, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Special Edition The Rumbling Sky. Turn A Gundam Films; Turn A Gundam Earth Light Turn A Gundam Moon Butterfly Then we come to the Zeta Gundam Compilation Movies; Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta Heir to the Stars Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta Lovers Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta Love is the Pulse of the Stars. Seed Destiny Films; Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Special Edition The Broken World Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Special Edition Respective Swords Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Special EditionThe Hellfire Of Destiny and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Special Edition The Cost of Freedom. G-Savior Gudam 00 Films, Gundam 00 Special Edition Celestial Being, Gundam 00 Special Edition End of the World, Gundam 00 Special Edition Return of the World. Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer Gundam AGE: Memory of Eden Theirs like over six timelines here don't judge me
  6. Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy These where a great compilation film series, I think the second Mobile Suit Gundam II Soldiers of Sorrow was a little over condensed for my liking but Mobile Suit Gundam III Encounters In Space is peak Gundam and defiantly makes up for any shortcomings of the II's adaptation by tightly focusing the final arch of the Gundam series. Defiantly give these a watch if you haven't before. Dirty Pair: Affair of Nolandia and Original Dirty Pair: Flight 005 Conspiracy finally got around to watching some of the OG Dirty Pair OVAs and I have to say I thought it was really enjoyable, Kei and Yuri stole the show with their antics and I can only imagine some of the wacky shenanigans they get up to in the original TV show now and follow up OVA series.
  7. The Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy Well since I just finished them I'll say definitely check out the MSG Trilogy Films, their a very good condensing of the OG TV show and I think their are some general improvements especially n Mobile Suit Gundam III Encounters In Space with more focus on Lalah and Sleggar (the most under apricated character in the U.C.) and the inner turmoil of the Zabi Family. Also the songs are kinda boss not to mention some of the visuals. The Five Star Stories Also since I'm back here I might as well give a shout out to the Five Star Stories only watched this one last year after fined a AMV of all things of it online, its a under apricated anime gem from the 80s and the Golden Motar Head is to die for. I'm kind of wanting to read the manga this is based on.
  8. Completed Fate Extra I really enjoyed this show, Nero was boss Completed Legend of the Galactic Heroes Dei Neue Thesis Season 3 Collision Really great continuation form the last season, though I've more or less spoiled the entire series now by watching both the original series and reading the book, but I still recommend Re-Watched Slayers A fun series though and though, I defiantly recommended a re-watch and to watch if you skipped over this series. Still Re-Watching Death Note (Currently on episode 20) I've been stuck on episode 20 now waiting for my friends to get together again to continue watching this series, I've watched it before but still I really want to get to the confrontation between Light and L. About to cross the half way line of Galaxy Express 999 (Gonna place on hold afterwards for a bit. Currently on episode 45, gonna get it to 50) This remains the most depressing amine ever, but for an introduction to the Lejiverse its a good jump in point, I'm gonna be pausing on this for a while once I get to ep 50 as to continue more with the original DB Resuming on Dragon Ball (Currently on episode 50) # Just began watching this again, Still as good as where I left off Watching My Dress Up Darling (Currently on Episode 8 This has been on my watch list for awhile, I really enjoyed it. Sometimes its nice to unwind with a slice of life romcom series. I recommend.
  9. Thanks for the shout out. Naturally I'll have to start my list with the titular Mobile Suit Gundam Series Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack Mobile Suit Gundam Chars Counterattack serves as the final resolution of the conflict between Char and Amaro, the lead protagonist and antagonists from the original 79 classic anime, its one of my all time favorite both Gundam film, Anime Film and Film in general though I'm probably bias as I'm a big fan of the franchise, however if your not a fan ands haven't watched the original and some of the other shows like Zeta and ZZ Gundam I wouldn't' recommended Mobile Suit Gundam F91 Another great Gundam Film would be Mobile Suit Gundam F91, a beautifully animated film of the early 90s, though unfortunately thanks to Sunrise medalling originally promising lead writer of Gundam Fam Yoshiyuki Tomino, a series, before walking back to a film, the story is very crammed in. I still enjoyed the film and the manga continuation is turning out to be a great read. (Still thou best headshot in U.C. arguably) I have yet to watched the original remake films yet, so can't comment on them (I weep) Legend of the Galactic Heroes My Conquest is the Sea of Stars If I was going to sit thought the 110 episodes of this legendary bemouth I was gonna watch the film as well, the film is thematically dense with a lot of philosophy and political speculation of the back of it. I really enjoyed this one and its a great way to warm up to the show. Crusher Joe A underrated classic, Crusher Joe is a forgotten relic of Japanese's sci-fi and the source of inspiration for future works like Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star, More people should check out this anime gem which drips of 80s nostalgia Venus Wars this is a personal favourite of mine, stunning visually and thematically deep. YAS (character designer on the Gundam series) wrote the manga and directed the film, it bombed on release but still the visuals are so priceless and the film has grown a cult following. Akira Its probably an anime film that everyone and their grandmother has watched but that's with good reason, stunning animation thought and thought and a very good adaptation of the manga Ghost in the Shell One of the first anime films I watched I highly recommend thought I think other Mamoru Oshii works are his best. Patlabor the Movie & Patlabor 2 speaking of which, being a MECHA fan I had to check out the Patlabor Movies, which were surprisingly deep especially the second film with the JDF deployment in Tokyo, the films scream atmosphere from the wide shots to the intense if brief mecha battles. Jin-Roh The Wolf Brigade Based on the Kerberos Panzer Cop, the manga written by Oshii and part of the Kerberos Saga, Wolf Brigade is a deep film and dispute its links to the manga and the Kerberos Saga you can pretty much watch and enjoy without any knowledge of the other works, naturally with Oshii the visuals are mind blowing. That's all for now though thier are a lot of other films on my list to watch including Captain Harlock Arcadia of my Youth, the Galaxy Express 999 Films, Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy, Space Battleship Yamato and many others.
  10. Yeah he's up their as the most infamous anime YouTubers, that said he has some good tastes in anime I suppose but he's way to toxic and also E-Begs The fate of E-Beggers!
  11. Wait we had a disagreement over anime. I swear to good I will post Young Defiant on here...
  12. I heard of that one but never seen it think a friend has it though so I might borrow it off him at some point looks cool I've only ever watched ergo proxy once though I'd probably pick up more in a rewatch after watching it the first time like Evangelion.
  13. Lets think about that? Mobile Suit Gundam I mean I knew it was coming but not like that... best headshot of all time! Space Battleship Yamato 2199 This episode shocked me. If you watch it, you know what I mean Stiens;Gate This show never stopped shocking me from start to finish, from episode to episode it just kept changing. Death Note I'll take a potato chip and eat it! Code Geass My god that ending... perfect!
  14. What counts? That a good question MECHA!!! JK no it's a bit more complicated than that... For me it's kind of literal anime is another word for J-animation or Japanimation. So, animation, but something distinct from Western Animation or American Animation, you defiantly get works outside the medium of animation, such as JRPGs (I mean the creator of Dragon Ball Akira Toriyama was involved in Chrono Trigger so yeah connected) which are heavily inspired by animation but that's likely because the game designers of JRPGs and other Japanese's video games made specifically for the Japanese audience were inspired or consumers of Japanese animation. Thier can also be works outside of Japan that are defiantly inspired by anime, which is good and totally awesome, but I'm not going to go as far as call them anime.
  15. So what are anime that you guys and girls think are re-watchable? What are anime that you want or plan to re-watch? here are anime that I have rewatched or plan to rewatch Mobile Suit Gundam Numerous Gundam shows, mainly U.C. focused. Space Battleship Yamato First anime I watched, rewatched the two seasons numerous times Code Geass Plan to rewatch this after a friend showed me it and got the Blueray Death Note Currently re-watching this with some friends, awesome show Toradora! Great anime, one of my all time favourites Outlaw Star Need to show this to some friends, really enjoyed this and super underrated, plan to rewatch Gurren Lagann Got this last year, and after watching it wanted to re-watch on the spot. I need to rewatch it like maybe after Death Note Legend of the Galactic Heroes Die Neue Thesis Need to rewatch this in preparation for the fourth season!
  16. Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 In terms of story this aniem wass pretty bad but then I don't think i watched it for that Dam that a fine ass mecha! Detonator Orgun OVA series this was pretty interesting a little generic, "with the whole love vs hate" and "power of compassion" message but I enjoyed Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt December Sky and Bandit Flower The first film was good The second was very good like DAM!
  17. Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam (Unreleased English Dub) Only parts of this hidden gem and a couple of full episodes have ever been leaked! I mean I have no idea why Sunrise refuses to release this. It probably the most ANIME DUB TO EVER DUB
  18. Let me think for a moment? Well, I know that what I'm saying is likely heresy but... Haman Karn X... Mashymre Cello Why well because the dudes like willing to die for Haman, that's dedication Dedication to Simp for a woman to the grave! I know Haman X Char is more popular Hell, their a manga based on Haman X Char Hell even Haman X Judau is more popular So why do I say this because I agree with him!
  19. Favourite antagonists now that's a challenge! First two from Code Geases, Schneizel el Britannia and Princess Cornelia li Britannia. Really loved these two with Cornelia being a really good main sort of villain and antagonist in R1 and Schneizel being the best antagonist in R2, with the whole Battle for the Planet and his own really interesting ideas on how to better run the world being really interesting and a good contrast to Lelouch. Next, we have another duo of villains, Char Aznable aka Casval Rem Deikun aka Quattro Bajeena aka The Red Comet and Haman Karn. Honestly Haman is one of the best villainesses in the OG U.C. timeline and is sought of the archetype for the Ice Queen villainess seen in a lot of Mecha. She is also kind of a badass in her own right and is easily the best girl of the U.C. and then we have Char the quittances Mecha antagonist, the Ying to Amaro yang so to speak. We all know how this one character spawned countless clones in other Gundam shows and in Mecha in general, from the iconic design to his rivalry with amaro that goes beyond the time (see what I did their) truly one of the best antagonists in anime. Dessler is another one of my favourite anime villains and antagonists, I loved the depiction of the character in the remake of Space Battleship Yamato. The fact he was also my first anime villain I watched probably makes me a little bias but still loved the character, the motivation and the reveal near the end is awesome. "I shall bring peace to..." and you'll have to watch the show to find out but seriously underrated antagonsits I think and sought of overlooked show at least with western anime fans I think so do yourselves a favour and watch. Giffen is another one of those classic antagonists though we haven't gotten to see a lot of him thanks to the pretty bad adaptations of berserk's black swordsmen arch (I'm looking at you Berserk 2016) but in the OG Berserk anime from 1997 we got enough for me to say he's one of my all-time favourites And lastly Gilgamesh from Fate, (Ethier Fate Stay Night or Fate Ultimate Blade Works both are cool) he the type of antagonist you love to hate, up himself completely but so cool doing it. I think Keria some's close to Gilgamesh, but Gilgamesh is kind of in a league of his own IMO.
  20. Thats a hard question who is my favourite Anime Protagonists? First got to give a shout out to Susumu Kodai, first anime protagonist I watched back when I got into anime, great character arc in the story, he had good development as he worked past the death of his brother (spoilers for a show that originally aired in the 70's) and I loved the design which is a blend of modern and retro anime styles. But if were goanna talk about older shows, the classic OG Mecha protagonist of Amaro Ray has to get a mention. Once more I loved the character development here as he goes from a civilian kind of placed in the position of the white bases only MS pilot and their last chance for survival to ruthless solider and then to a more consensus figure that finally understands their purpose and what they have been fighting for all along. Next got to mention Simon one of my all-time favourite Mecha series protagonists in one of the best Mecha shows I've ever watched, (and I've watched a lot) I loved the development of the character but I really don't want to soil this one so all I can say is watch the show, it's fantastic with great action scenes and a riveting story even if it is short of a classic Gainax series where themes are placed above consistency and realism, it is honestly amazing and I think Simon is what makes the show and the ending. Just watch it believe me if you haven't seen it is awesome. So next Reinhard von Lohengramm and yes, I would say he's the protagonist and not Yang Win Li I now controversial but the story starts and end with Reinhard and I think the original author even seems to view the character of Reinhard as the central figure of the story, the great man of history if you will (and yes, I'm just going to drop a weird intertextual reference like that) again an a great character with a lot of development. Like Simon though I'm risking major series spoilers speaking about his actions and how they affect the world and his development especially what happens at Geiersberg Fortress so yeah go watch it. You can either watch the original or the newer series I think their pretty similar at least in terms of Reinhards motivations and character. Light Yagami is another one that I'm sure is controversial to say is the protagonist but again like Reinhart he is the character we start and end the show with and I'm even more sure that was the authors intent here, so yeah Light is awesome and so is Death Note. He is one of those hyper smart protagonists that comes up with all manner of crazy schemes and is just a treat to watch. Edward Elric is another one of my favourite protagonists, really loved the arch, is romance with Winry and his development and that ending really ties it together (I'm talking about the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood ending here as I haven't seen the original OG Fullmetal Alchemist run. One day) currently the only real battle-Shonen protagonist I've seen fully eventually he'll hopefully get joined by some other Shonen protagonists (just got to watch them at some point) Lelouch Vi Britannia is another one of my favourite protagonists, loved the character intelligence and design and ideals and that ending (original show ending here) was just unbelievable probably one of my favourite Anime endings of all time and again I've watched a lot of anime especially Mecha series and this one is right up there with show like Gurren Lagaan and Gundam, honestly so good and you needed to watch it at some point for Lelouch alone. that was kinda longer than I originally planned but yeah. No, I forgot Shirou, dam it I knew there was another Shonen protagonist I watched
  21. @MediaConsumesMe Rinis best girl my reason are pretty obvious. but I can prove it with science! Now on to more important matters The other anime I watched recently include the following... Area 88 Really enjoyed this anime defiantly recommend Outlander Didn't really care for this one it was very short and felt like it was doing too much. But for a wacky space adventure it was decent time waster. Tokyo Revelation It was okay but that ending kind of sucked in my opinion maybe better in the original Japanese's IDK Five Star Stories which I finally got to watch just today after starting that whole anime hidden gems discission which I began with this humble little anime that most people had probably never heard off.
  22. Only way we could have celebrated Shirou Day Honestly though not bad even if it ran though the plot of UBW at Mach speed. Plus it's Rin route and Rin is best girl.
  23. Yes such a great pick. This has been on my watch list for ages. I know slap me for leaving it hanging on my watch list.
  24. Alien 9 - MyAnimeList.net this is it right? kinda wanna watch it!
