I came across a romance anime of this type years ago (I forgot its name) where the MC is literally you, the girl is breaking the 4th wall. I hope someone know the name of this genre, I looked and looked and couldn't find the genre name or any rom anime of this kind. Genre name ? And some sauces ?

As a genuine question, I've noticed after being on the forums for a couple of months that, there isn't much activity when it comes to users interacting. I mean, we have activity spikes here and there, but I've noticed that the site has been more dead, and mostly the veteran users have been active. Newbies and just other users in general haven't been as active, and it leaves me to this question...what can WE do as a forum to get this site more out there to bring the family more together? And a question for the Veteran forum users, have you guys noticed the lack of activity on the forums? Or is it just me?

I like to watch anime and be a fan, I have been watching anime for a long time, my first anime I watched was Sailor Moon and boy I was hooked on it and then there was Pokemon that tied in with the video games by Nintendo (The very same company that resurrected the gaming industry in America since 1985 with the Nintendo Entetainment System.) I find anime to be an amazing form of entertainment to enjoy and take me out of the insanity of reality. My first real anime I watched in Japanese was Black Butler back when I went to my first anime club meeting back in high school and since then I created a list of animes. FLCL, Toradora, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sword art Online, Another, Future Diary, Jellyfish Princess, Fairy Tale, Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, The Girl who lept through time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children and Re:Zero, my list goes on. I also like to cosplay too, I cosplayed as Hilbert from Pokemon Black and White, Ame from Wolf Children, Kirito from Sword art Online, Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tale, An Inkling boy wearing a Squid Girl outfit from Splatoon, and I cosplayed as Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer, I am like 29 years old (an adult about to be 30 in 2024) and I am looking for people that are the same age as me that like to cosplay anime characters. I read a lot of books by Daniel Silva, he's my favorite Author and kind of the only books that keep my interest recently. I also read a few by Jeff Long here and there. These are mostly spy/mystery books or end of the world type books. When I'm not reading those I read a lot of books about World War II because I've always been really interested in that part of history.

Anyone care to list recommendations for anime type PSX PSP PS2 games? I've googled for awhile and I'm only finding the same old Naruto dragonballz type games. I need something not well known and/or obscure. Thanks and have a great weekend.

This is so very true because my mom still yells at me about what I spend money on. She is always telling me I shouldn't be buying anime merch / going to concerts / anime conventions / clothes / etc and that I should be saving it to go on vacations Despite the fact I went to 2 different countries last year so yes clearly I also go on vacations. This makes me think she just wants something to argue about or try to control lol. I think people should be able to buy/do whatever they want with their money if it's making them happy whether that is going on vaca's or spending money on games/anime.

I’m the original poster, I asked this question because I really was disgusted by a lot of anime/ more but more so manga and hentai anime depicting children in sexual scenarios. I think for me I can know it’s not really children, it’s not real fotos, but I often wonder if people who draw porn of small children in their manga, are they using real child porn as references, I don’t know,l??? will they ever admit to it? Idk do I think all use references of chile porn? no, do I think all mangakas who draw lolis are pedophiles, no. But im sure some are and it’s always itching at the back of my head if I’m seeing art inspired by child porn. It’s hard to avoid it, you Google an anime you like and loli art pops up, suggestions, I think for me my heart gets heavy everytime I think of is this based off a real child? Did they trace over a real child. Child porn in Japan wasn’t illegal till 1999 and illegal to own until 2014. You could go to a store and buy it in the shady section. I know not everyone who like lolis are pedos, but I know some are and considering how lax publishers are with publishing anyone’s work it’s disturbing I think people who make this type of art should be investigated and made sure they aren’t doing anything nefarious. If I could have it my way i wouldn’t ban it causing banning things makes things worse; at least at first I’d make the public image of loli unpalatable by exposing all the disgusting things it portrays and basically sometimes you need to shame people foe why they like. And then once it’s let’s “normal” to the public I’d ban it. In a perfect world. Basically I think background checks should be done for people who draw this type of pornography. Sexualization of children, even in manga should be taken more seriously. For me, maybe I’ve become more sensitive to it but even if I’m watching an anime I like that is relatively free of anything sexual or weird it’s always at the back of my head that I’m participating. I like anime and manga, I search it up and BAM, suggestion “I’m not a lolicon trending manga is being suggested, and so many things where i feel ill explode. Do you at least understand what I’m trying to say or convey? Can you understand why I’m disturbed, as a woman who was once a young girl as well it’s just I feel disrespected in away, exploited? I love to draw and I love animation and anime has done so many great things but I just often wonder peoples true intentions when they draw things. I can’t ever know who is a pedo and how is a lolicon. Some like cartoons others real children. Sometimes they overlap and because I have to see it when I searching up anime or cute anime girl. I saw that vice vidoe where they talk about manga and it’s underage porn problem. Some guy who publishes manga, he has a job and he said “ I draw this manga based off real sex crimes against children in Japan, not my own experiences. And I was like OH UM THATS STILL DISGUSTING SIR. Go to jail and for. Who would do that?? Draw sex crimes. He admitted this on camera. He also admitted he was a pedofile and this helps to keep him from committing. Bullshit my ass he does it because he is either A. Is committing or B. Scared to commit cause he’ll get caught. The manga you draw just fuels it. You admitted to drawing about REAL CASES. If you disagree please tell me why? I genuinely want to know. How can you disassociate the two. How are you ok with seeing it. Even if you don’t enjoy it. I see it and immediately want to vomit. I used to not be so sensitive I don’t know why I am now, am I just becoming more aware of how damaging it is to me? And society idk. Lastly wanted to add when I say loli I mean in the sense of child being drawn in sexually suggestive manner or blatant pornography. Boy or girl. Seeing a girl or boy who looks 10 with their ass out is not something we need to see, it’s not funny or adds to the plot, it’s just weird. People who like lolis cause they’re cute and not sexualized, that’s different. I like cute characters too, it’s the sexualizing. Why do I need to see her vagina indent in her panty shot?? It’s happened too many times. It’s just too acceptable, people who like this stuff will still exist I just wish it was harder to find and more obscure, if it has to exist.

Binge watched the first 4 eps of Kaiju No. 8 & wish I’d started it sooner. New anime-of-the-season contender. Not a good idea to eat while watching though. A combination of Chainsaw Man & early seasons of My Hero Academia seems like a good description. Appreciate that the MC is in his 30s (30 was actually a greater hit to my ego than 40, so relatable )

How recent did you watch either of these shows? A time frame of when you possibly seen them could rule out a lot of new anime.

I love this anime it’s definetly one of my favorite For my personal favorites I guess lucky star, azumanga daioh, bocchi the rock, non non biyori, danshi koukousei no nichijou, humours Umaru Chan, jahy sama wa kujikenai, kobayashi san chi no maid dragon, nichijou, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan, shinryaku ika musume, Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san, deaimon and diaries of our days at the breakwater club. I don’t know if it can be considered slice of life since it’s more of comedy but grand blue dreaming is a very good one. Also there is a lot of romance anime that are slice of life that I really like like nisekoi, toradora, bottom tier character tomozaki kun, baka to test to shoukanjuu, haganai, Haiyore nyaruko san, gamers, hoshizora e kakaru hashi, Kaguya sama love is war, karakai jouzo no takagi san, nyan koi, seto no hanayome and wotakoi.

surprisingly my mom got into anime and manga because of the live action of one piece and yu yu hakusho. she really liked one piece and loved yu yu hakusho (the live action of course). any anime you would recommend for new watchers or/and with darker themes would probably what she would like. any help would be recommended. even if they are old show

It been awhile XD Finished Dragon Ball Absolutely brilliant can't wait for DBZ, naturally gutted about the more recent news in the DB circle all I can say on that is that Akira Toriyama was a legend and I'm totally gonna be playing Chrono Trigger. Up to episode 71 of Galaxy Express 999 A great show by the also unfortunately late Leiji Matsumoto Completed Star Wars Visions Yeah this wasn't the best probably just further prove that the best anime is made exclusively in Japan, it reminds me strongly of Halo Legends a jumbled messy that fails to be as good as other similar anime in the genre whilst also failing to feel and capture the sprite of the source material (not that Disney can do that either) Re-watched Toradora! Natural this show only gets better Watched Blue Submarine No. 6 This was a really good one that I randomly watched, highly recommend need to watch more GONZO shows. Watched Lunar Legend Tsukihime Really enjoyed this, kind of had some stilted animation, but a great story. Re-Watched Mobile Suit Gundam Origin I'm one of the biggest OG Gundam Fans in the World, We all know I enjoyed this rewatch. Re-Watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood This is a classic anime though the more I rewatch it the more tempted I am to watch the classic FMA Started watching Frieren: Beyond Journey's End This is a wonderful fantasy anime and very Tolkin in feeling Goblin Slayer Season 2 This one was also super good, I have to say their was a lot of strong fantasy anime this last season or 2. So glad we saw the return of Goblin Slayer Pluto I honestly didn't like this which was disappointing as I had high hopes for the show since it came from the same writer as Monster Finished Nadia The Secret of Blue Water Also just recently finished Nadia the Secret of Blue Water, it was so good I smashed though this show effortless and I didn't even skip the filler arch's which I actually (controversial opinion) enjoyed

I like to see the cosplays of different people that they create and artist booths. I like to be able to purchase merchandise at cons and be able to talk to other fans. There is a bigger sense of community at anime conventions where you are able to meet people from around your area and establish some friendships with fellow anime fans.

Almost the same as what I am doing now Playing Runescape, listening to Linkin Park, watching anime, going on anime forums online, going to school.. which I seem to have never gotten away from school just that now it's college lol. Erm I think I played outside a lot back then though. I definitely went outside more then as opposed to now to do things with friends and just hang out. I kinda miss just sitting on the curb with friends and talking or rollerblading/biking and stuffs with friends like back then.

My main hobby outside of writing has been doing BJD (ball jointed doll) customization. Mine are anime-styled, so the eyes I make out of resin are also more along the lines of an anime look. I design the irises in ibispaint, drawing em myself, and then print them and encase them in resin. It's a fun process! I will share some dolls I create once my supplies arrive.
