Clayton
So what is your favorite rodent? Is it a specific named animal? A species? Bunny? Squirrel? Vole? Hamster? Guinee Pig? Mouse? Rat? Why do you like them? Edited May 6, 2024 by Clayton
Sakura
I love rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs! I had all of them at one point or another as pets growing up. I think beavers or squirrels are my favorite though. I know beavers are considered huge pests but I think they are adorable despite that (and also they tend to be pretty mean). Squirrels near me though are pretty friendly and will eat from your hands. Probably not very safe or sanitary since they could bite but the squirrels in the city are pretty used to humans doing this downtown and I think it's fun to sit there while they come up to you and scamper around your feet. My sister just got 2 pet rats so that's pretty cool too. I get to be a rat aunt and play with the tiny bebes. 1
Zeref
Chinchilla. I had one of these as a pet when I was younger. I also like prairie dogs which I think is considered in the class of rodent. These were some of my favorite animals from the zoo because they were fun to watch and I always wanted to stand and watch them for a long time.
Ohayotaku
Squirrels Since mongoose & ferrets apparently aren’t rodents Edited May 7, 2024 by Ohayotaku
Animedragon
Squirrels. I get quite a few visiting my garden and it's great fun watching their antics. Every so often a new one comes along and it never fails to amuse me watching them learn the hard way that my bird feeders are totally squirrel proof. The regulars don't even look at the bird feeders, squirrels are smart, squirrels learn.

I used to have up some squirrel feeder with corn and I would put them right by the window so the squirrels would be in the window and I could watch them. They are hilarious to watch sometimes.
Clayton
I gotta go with chipmunks. It's like someone combined squirrels and hamsters. In my book Super Naked https://www.amazon.com/SUPER-NAKED-Curse-Western-Wendigo/dp/B0BV4JDY6H I made a superheroine called Beaver Babe and I always checked out the capybara at the fair when it was billed as the world's largest rat. Sakura Dragon
Guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats are super cute. I want to own a pet rat and I may get one when I move out of my current home. I know that they do not have long lifespans, though.
FidelityBoss
I’ve gotta go with capybaras they’re like the chill, oversized hamsters of the rodent world. Just lounging around, being everyone’s best friend. Total vibe.

Colu
Thanks to this thread, I now know that beavers and capybaras are rodents apparently, so I’m gonna go with those as my favourites. Not a fan of rodents otherwise, especially rats.
Sarada
I have 2 pet rats and they've become my favorite rodent and animal. They act as sort of ESA's for me and help me out just with giving me something to get out of bed for on days it was hard. They have amazingly unique personalities and are always doing hilarious things. 1 1

Eris
Rats are cool. I like the ones that @Sarada has. I'm a prairie dog fan. I think they are classified as rodents. Them and naked mole rats.
