For the record not any this is mine it's all @Sakura lol. I only have 1 thing ordered, my new keyboard, which didn't arrive yet

I’m basically living in a desert next to a national forest so we get all sorts of critters around here.  Lizards (and snakes) are all over the place.  There’s another lizard who I think has claimed the driveway as its territory.  Last year we had a bunch of tiny baby lizards running around.

 

I saw .. Lenny again this morning when I went to the store.  He(?) was on the wall next to the patio this time.  Guess he’s none the worse for spending the night in my living room.  In fact it looks like he’s smiling.  

 

I also surprised a rabbit out there just before I saw Lenny.  I wasn’t quick enough to snap a pic of it tho.

Went to the grand opening of a new local game store in my town!

They had video games retro and modern, Pokémon cards, Magic the Gathering, Lorcana, and Warhammer. (Plus the One Piece TCG)

plus some Gundam models, plushies, posters including a poster for the Seven Deadly Sins anime (that my friend filled me in on) 

At least my friend and I have found a local place to play the Pokémon TCG, and he found a local place to play Warhammer/Lorcana

Yes omg I love him/her  Wait so there is 2 lizards? and baby lizards? Maybe they are married lizards, Lenny has a wife!

What did I do today let's see.. I woke up and I played freakin' Runescape.... for SEVENTEEN HOURS A DAY  @Zeref @Sasuke LOLLLL

But for real I did play some RS today and I spent most of the afternoon chatting to @FlamingFan25 and getting to know him and he's awesome  & then I had pizza, watched some TV, now I'm annoying @Soramee_ on Discord lol

The babies were last year.  I haven't seen any yet this year.  

Not sure about Lenny's relationship with the driveway lizard, if any.  I kind of doubt it.  That one stays more towards the back of the property near the garage whereas Lenny hangs out near the front porch and nearby patio.  They might not even know about each other.

And actually there's at least 3 lizards that I've seen around the yard.  The 3rd is on the other side of the house from the driveway.  I see him sometimes in the mornings on the wall outside my bedroom window, soaking up the morning sun.  That one is a bit different than the others.  He is darker, a bit bigger, and has a shiny blue patch of scales under his chin and down his chest.  He also likes to do pushups.

I read somewhere that lizards are generally solitary creatures, but some do form social groups.

We have a lot of those too.    Hawks often cruise overhead though so the squirrels generally keep a low profile.  I'm literally about 4 blocks from the edge of the Angeles National Forest so this area gets a bit of everything.

It can sometimes be a scary place to live however.  The "Eaton" fire in January that killed the power here for a couple weeks, burned down 9,000 buildings in Altadena, killed 18 people, and shut down the Jet Propulsion Lab was in the foothills area only about 5 miles from here.  In the '70s a similar fire was stopped only a block from my house and in 2009 the "Station" fire caused evacuations and shut down the Angeles Crest highway for most of a year.  I've had not-so-fun creatures like bears and mountain lions wander through the neighborhood after a fire or during a drought in the ANF when a lack of food and / or water in the wilderness area drives animals into nearby populated areas.  Rattlesnakes, black-widow spiders, tarantulas, and scorpions are also part of the "fun" of living here.

I would be worried most about fires living there and earthquakes  

I didn't do a lot today mostly gamed or watched finals that happened today in my game. I made some dinner and than took a nap.

I saw Lenny doing pushups this afternoon!  I thought it was just the dark one on the other side of the house who did pushups but no, Lenny was doing it too.

Santa Ana winds come from the desert so they're very dry.  They lower the humidity to single digits and dry out the brush on the hillsides making any fires much more dangerous.  If there's no wind the fires are slow-moving and sometimes just kind of smoulder in place.  It makes it hard to breathe sometimes if they're nearby but they're not really all that dangerous and they get rid of the buildup of brush on the hillsides and in the forest in a more or less safe manner.  Planes and choppers can get in and drop water on anything that looks dangerous.  But when the winds pick up the aircraft get grounded, the flames flare up and throw up embers that get pushed for miles ahead of the flames to start more fires.  We saw in January what can happen when high winds push a brushfire towards civilization.   If winds make a fire big enough to create their own weather they can even create lightning, which also starts even more fires.

I haven't ever experienced an earthquake that's why I think this would scare me the most. Before living where I now live I would have said tornados scare me the most. The winds with these can get very strong especially when we get something called straight line winds. However now I'm used to this and pretty alright with them. We often always have to move our patio things indoors lately in this "tornado season"

I don't want to see these type of winds combined with a fire this sounds more worst than just the normal winds. I saw something once about a fire tornado during these things have you ever seen that?

Yes, we'll see fire vortexes in most brushfires, even relatively small ones.  The ones in smaller fires are like dust devils (albeit on fire) but a big brushfire can create its own weather, including hurricane-force winds, thunderclouds, and actual tornados.  They're extremely dangerous since what creates them is the updraft caused by air heated from the fire.  At ground level there will be very strong winds going into the fire.  If they're strong enough to create a tornado they can be strong enough to knock a person over and drag them into the fire as well.

Today I decided I prolly have to move away from planet Earth since my dad was on a live stream rap battling with thousands of people watching..  lolllll I mostly just watched these game tourny finals today with @Zeref I'm p/o at the ending because we all know these people cheated but whatever. I kinda just hung out on Discord all day, drank a buncha smoothies, chatted with friends, watched some tv, nothing special.
