They're always happening somewhere nearby.  Most of them are basically ignored by the locals.  If you look at the USGS's earthquake site, every day there's a couple dozen or so of greater than 2.5 magnitude somewhere in the US.  (Today they report 36.)  Most of them will be here on the west coast.  My SIL from back east seems to feel every single one.  Most of them are less than maybe 3.5 in magnitude however, which is about what you would feel if a big truck drove down the street outside your house.  That level typically doesn't even reach conscious awareness for me.  On average there's maybe one a month that is either big enough or close enough for me to notice.  They do tend to happen in clusters though so it's not uncommon to get 2 or three in the same week, then nothing for a few months.

One of the problems with the "news" is that they tend to get fixated on one thing.  If there's a big train wreck, all of a sudden train wrecks is all you'll hear about for a week.  It isn't that trains are suddenly unsafe, it's just that now you're hearing about every single crash.  Next week it'll be all about airplane crashes.  (Or whatever.)

I checked the news when I got home and according to the local news outlet, for this one there were no reported injuries or major damage.  There was some minor damage however.. apparently an old water pipe broke and partly flooded a building.

Come to Southern California.  I hear they're currently offering free - though unscheduled - amusement park rides.  For the scheduled variety you can always head to Universal Studios.  Of course there's a fee for that one.

I'm feeling nostalgic about my sister because mom and I are remembering her in our current verbal conversation. I still miss her so damn much. I really think a big part of me died when she did...

Loosing a member of the family leaves a big hole in your life, especially if you were really close to them.

I think I was closer to big sis' than I was with anyone else in the family, extended or immediate, so that might explain why it still hurts so much that she's not with us anymore. At least not physically, but sometimes I get the feeling she still visits in spirit. ^^ ^^ At least I hope so.

I'm feeling ok right now. Just wondering if I should go back to sleep until mom and dad get back from dad's appointment thingy they went to (I can't remember what it was for though, but they've been gone since like 8am and now it's 6pm which is a long time for someone like me who likes to be around people most of the time to be alone ;.; ), but I think they might've gone to run errands, too, which might explain why they're taking so long getting back. I wish they'd hurry up and get back because if I'm alone for too long not even my games can keep my interest and I get bored unless someone's in the area close by in the same house I'm in. I really don't know why I'm like that since I'm such a paranoid person, but I don't have an explanation for why that is. ^^;

I'm just bored. Bored, bored, bored lol I was going to do some GFX'ing to cure the boredom but I couldn't find the motivation. So I guess bored and motivation less to do anything.

I had a work study course, so I was less bored today than I was yesterday. I also had a lot of fun playing some different games and re-organizing some things in my room so today I'm feeling pretty great ~ also super happy about tomorrow being Friday.

I always feel so tired after work this week, I think all these watching videos is making me sleepy.

I'm slightly annoyed. I walked all the way down to the far end of the high street this morning to visit the frozen food shop to get some of their nice steak pies, and they didn't have any . I got several other things while I was out, but I really wanted those steak pies.

On the way back home I wanted to get some money from the cash machine outside the railway station, but there was a guy standing near it fiddling with his mobile phone. He was most likely a decent law abiding guy, but you can't be too careful these days so I walked away.

I'm sorry to hear that they didn't have any steak pies. It really sucks when you fully expect to get something from somewhere and they don't currently have it. I've seen mom get really irritated at that. o.o

Somewhat in the same boat expect I wanted to buy a certain brand of ribeye steak to do on grill tonight and the store was out completely.

I feel good today otherwise. Slept well. It's nice to be on the weekend time now.

He's my favorite character in Naruto lol I told Pessi he has to wear the Sasori things even though his name is Zeref  

Feeling a little like a headache is about to happen, so I hope it doesn't. I've sat myself in front of the fan and drinking a lot of water because on days that are as hot as this one I usually always get a headache

Luckily I didn't end up with a migraine, felt fine this morning

I feel alright but I think I'm having a mini allergic reaction to something. Strong smells really make my throat feel itchy, eyes watery, and nose runny and it smells like someone on the balcony above me spilled a whole bottle of cologne or something x.x I couldn't stop coughing while talking to @Forlorn on the phone
