  1. I really enjoyed both TV series many years ago. Even if it was quite ecchi, the Angeloid characters were adorable. Nymph was my most favourite!

The first movie was fantastic (Angeloid of Clockwork) But the second movie (Final: Eternal My Master) was very convoluted and had a very poor ending. I can only assume people that have read the source material would understand it (I only watched the anime and its movies). My understanding is it was supposed to get a third TV series but they did a shorter movie instead..

    • Violet Evergarden (Kyoto Animation - fantasy/drama) looks mesmerising and promising.
    • Beatless - I'm a sucker for cute AI bodysuit girl depictions.
    • Darling in the FranXX- looks very interesting (Trigger + A1) as a Sci-Fi mecha ..
    • Grancrest Senki - action/fantasy.. could be average but I do rather enjoy this genre.

  2. Hi @INKYDUSTIN yes I buy from AmiAmi every month (due to rolling preorders) ;) of figures and merchandise.

DHL will be the fastest (1-2 business days), as that is via direct courier and bypasses the postal system once it clears customs. EMS will use your local post service at the fastest service they offer. I’m guessing you’re  from the US so looking as USPS that would be under “Priority Mail International Express”

Both options you’ll definitely get within a week and are fully trackable.

Air small packet and SAL will be VERY slow because that is via regular mail. For us in Australia regular airmail takes 2-4 weeks and the lack of tracking is a killer IMO.

I’m not sure on price for just one shirt as when we order we usually order at least 5+ items because the base shipping cost to Australia is very expensive. I’d recommend trying to order more than one item if possible.

  3. Hi everyone,

Single sign on is now setup, so if you have either a Facebook, Twitter, Google or Steam account you can use that to login instead of using the traditional email address and password.

If you want to make use of any of these for convenience, just go to Account Settings (click your avatar on top right corner) > Social network integration tabs

    social-media-sync.thumb.png.af3d015b4fec8dfdb4b127e53021dafa.png

After it is setup you can then login using the desired service:

Access is synchronised with your AF account using proper API channels which is authorised as apps. For example if you link your Steam account you will be taken to the Steam website for verification.

New members of course can do this on the sign up page when registering for an account.

If you run into any issues please let me know.

  4. Hi everyone,

As we have now settled in with this platform, I would like to get your thoughts on themes. Instead of just converting all the previous themes across, I'd like to get some suggestions on what you'd like to see next?

    Can be anything such as:

    • A Sword Art Online one?
    • A general fantasy one?
    • A cute or Sci-Fi/Mecha one?

And also would you prefer a dark or light theme?

Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

  5. Hi @Greeneyes

It's a balance of making sure the signature is not larger than the header, we also have less width because the postbit is now on the left hand side of your posts.

On the previous system it was the browser that scaled the height automatically (but the original image was still being downloaded in full)

Can you attach your signature image here so I can review it? I may be able to make some adjustments to accommodate.

but GIF does not cause a crash, just JPEG with large pixels.

Oh I see, maybe also to do with base64 images? They’re used as default (coloured letters) images for members without avatars. I see a few members without avatars on the list.

By the way, what's the reason for the live chat being removed?

Unfortunately it was taking too much activity away from the forums and was a moderation drain (had to check the archive daily and was very long to sift through at times). Nothing wrong with the chat itself but as the name implies we’re a forum first..

However, my browser keep crashing when I try to open https://animeforums.net/clubs/ .

I see there are many clubs with animated GIFs as their logo and cover image so maybe that's the cause..

  8. @RyePotatoes and to all those that wrote community reviews prior to the changeover.

They have now been moved across:
    https://animeforums.net/anime/

I do apologise sincerely for the delay and for having to close AF for a few hours to do this, to adjust the time-stamps I had to do this at the database level and did not want to risk leaving AF open whilst I was doing this.

Thankfully that is the last step in the migration. :)

Please feel free to check the anime pages for your reviews, any issues let me know.

You can also browse the Anime pages alphabetically by scrolling down to the bottom and clicking the [A-Z] link. I will look into making this more clear in future.

Moving forward, I can focus on new content and reviews now!

  9. Hi @RepentantSky I have been spam cleaning them on a daily basis, if I have missed any please don't hesitate to use the Report link as I get an instant email notification for reports.

Having said that, I will be reviewing our guidelines regarding advertising. Currently we only allow it in the forums inside Creative Corner if you've reached 10 posts but we are getting a lot of people just ignoring that.

  10. I am still  re-adding the old anime pages. Just ~23 to go though I have been adding sequels for some titles as I go through the list. Those that have been taking a peak will have noticed I am also adding PVs (preview videos) as a replacement for the full page background images (as pretty as they were, most titles were lacking them). Once all the anime pages are re-added I will then re-add the community reviews and then I can finally get this crossed off the list.. it has been on my list for quite sometime now.

There is a issue though with the Reviews sidebar block, the latest ones are not showing at the top... i am getting it looked at as a priority. Fixed.

The Bookmark feature is now back, you should be able to bookmark posts, images, galleries, etc. And can manage them in My Bookmarks on your top-right profile pic menu.

The video was either a compilation of scenes or the actual opening sequence.  The best details I can describe are two characters fighting – a guy and a girl. The girl I believe had long pigtails, short skirt, (really narrows it down, right?) but her weapon was I think 2 light sabers??

The guy did this thing where it look like he powered up midbattle – he backed up against the wall then held his head apparently in pain until his eyes shot open and he suddenly looked possessed or just way more powerful? He then engaged in battle with afore mentioned light saber chick and proceeded to kick her ass.

Maybe The Asterisk War (Gakusen Toshi Asterisk) ? It was a futuristic setting.

Claudia herself had two sabre weapons. But most of the series was focused around Julis (pink long hair) and Ayato... no pigtails though.

  12. Saw it tonight. Was great! 8/10

It started a little slow though especially around Sakura. But the next two movies should definitely ramp it up. I've only seen Fate/Zero and Ufotable's UBW and was very pleasantly surprised with the way this route is going.

But Saber gets in a big pinch! :(

  13. Hi @Tonko, welcome to AF. :)

It sounds like you're quite early with your anime journey,. The first few anime titles you watch definitely are the most memorable!

I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I quite liked Charlotte too, even if it was a bit short! If you're up for it, please feel free to write a review:

  15. magical-girl-lyrical-reflection.thumb.jpg.f146d4855dd8f804817df2680adec05f.jpgMagical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is perhaps my most favourite magical girl series...

I came into this franchise via the movies. I absolutely loved the first two movies (2nd As and 1st) then saw StrikerS afterwards which was just OK.

So the third and fourth movies are called Reflection and Detonation, and unlike the first two movies which which condensed the TV series, these movies have a completely new story..

    Reflection - Plot:
This film, unlike 1st and 2nd, have a brand new original story using elements from other media, such as the manga Nanoha Force (for Bardiche and Raising Heart new design) and the PsP game Gears of Destiny, as the Florian sisters are introduced here. It's the first part of a two-part story.

Reflection actually screened in Japanese cinemas back in July 22, so we still have a fair wait until the Blu-rays come out which we will hopefully start to see fansubs / localised releases coming shortly afterwards.

    First PV:

    Second PV:

Given that 2nd As came out WAY back in 2012 I am REALLY HAPPY to see the Nanoha franchise is FINALLY continuing to grow with these new movies. ^_^
