So I have these vintage hand blown glass fruit that used to belong to my Nanny, but I only have two oranges and an apple and there used to be more (a banana, a carrot, and a couple pears although I think one of the pears is supposed to be a lemon because it’s smaller and bright yellow). We’ve searched through our stuff multiple times and haven’t been able to find the missing fruit. This morning mum had a chance to start looking through her stuff and she found the missing fruit! I’m gonna pick them up after work and I’ll share a picture of them all together later ^-^ hmm, I might need to get a bigger fruit bowl now though, but we’ll see!

I watched mum’s dog this afternoon for her and I was working on a project on my iPad to make myself a signature for here but I’ve run into a snag and might have to rethink/redo the whole thing

Does anyone else here ever play the Sims? Well, it doesn’t matter, I’ll still make the thread anyway and ramble on about my own shit bahaha My first exposure to the Sims was actually Sims 2 for the PS2, shortly followed by Sims 2 Castaway and Urbz: Sims in The City, all for the PS2. I got rid of my PS2 and games at some point many years ago and I absolutely kick myself in the ass about it now. Even if I didn’t keep the system or most of the games, I sincerely wish I had at least kept Castaway and/or Urbz. Andy has a PS2 and I have since found a replacement for just Sims 2, but I’ve never come across the other two. At the same time, though, it’s extremely rare that we hook up the PS2 anyway, so it’s not like it’s a huge loss. After the Sims 2 stuff on the PS2, my next exposure to the Sims would be Sims 4 for the PC, which I absolutely fell in love with. I still play Sims 4, but now only on the PS5. I have a huge lot that I’m currently playing and built myself which I’m quite proud of! I challenged myself to make a lot that’s entirely outdoors, off-the-grid, and requires fresh ingredients for any cooking. I also have the added challenge of my sim not being allowed to work a real job but still needs to make money to actually build anything on the lot, so it’s taken me a long time to build it up to where it is but it’s been a lot of fun. She’s quite well established with her gardening yard sales now though and money is never an issue anymore so I can pretty much do whatever I want with the lot at this point. I do have loooooots of screenshots of it, from when I first started to its almost current state (I added some more stuff last night and haven’t done more screenshots yet), but I they’re all on the PS5 and I can only send 4 screenshots at a time to my phone. I did recently figure out that I can have it so that any screenshots or videos I take on the PS5 will automatically upload to the PS app on my phone, which I’ve since enabled, but it won’t automatically upload any screenshots that were taken before it was enabled. Eventually I’ll get around to it! I also have a couple other builds that I’ve done on the PC version of Sims 4 (I think I shared the Trash Trailer over in my Colu’s Crapola Corner thread), but I don’t know when I’ll get around to sharing those. Aside from Sims 4, lately I’ve been playing Sims 3 on Andy’s old af laptop (seriously, it’s 11 years old ahaha). Right now I have a sim (Melissa) that’s married to Malcolm Landgraab and they have a daughter together (Sara). Melissa is quite a bit older than Malcom, she aged up into an Elder and he only just aged up to Adult. Sara also just had her birthday and she is now a child, so glad I don’t have to keep taking her in and out of the crib anymore! Melissa is retired from the business career so she spends her time doting on Sara, who is spoiled rotten. Malcolm I don’t play with much aside from making sure he gets promotions, I’m mostly using him as a sugar daddy to get as much money as possible before Sara ages up into a teen. I plan on having Sara become a freeloading party animal that spends all of her rich parents money. I even got Night Life on sale the other day so that there will be more fun places for her to party and spend money once she’s older ahaha. If she manages to spend all the money at some point, then I will get her to learn an instrument and play for tips, but I’ll never get her a real job or use cheats to increase the money. She has the virtuoso trait, which will make learning instruments easier, but all the rest of her traits will be focused on social traits. Her next traits will be Party Animal and Star Quality (or whatever it’s called, it came with the Night Life expansion but I don’t quite remember what it’s called, it has something to do with being a celebrity). Right now she has Virtuoso, Friendly, and something else that I can’t remember at the moment haha. She’s basically gonna be a Paris Hilton but maybe with a smidgen more class than that haha Anyway! I remembered to take some pictures of my plants finally! Behold! First up we’ve got this one that I can’t remember the name of and absolutely loves the kitchen window, look at this crazy guy This is a very sad aloe plant that desperately needs to be repotted but its owner is super lazy (it’s me, I’m the owner), it’s still trying though! Okay so this isn’t a house plant, but it’s still a plant haha. Anytime we buy green onions, we don’t cut them all the way and will save the ends and let them regrow in a cup of water and keep using them. Eventually they need to be replaced because they’ll slowly start to loose flavour over time, but you get quite a lot of regrowth just from one bundle. I think this bunch has been trimmed right down like two or three times now? Plus just the little bits that we snip off here and there as we need it This is a jade plant and a spider plant in the same pot. They quite like it together, but the spider plant grows a lot faster and is starting to crowd the jade, so they’ll need to be separated at some point so they can both thrive And here we have my main spider plant! It used to be even bigger, but it had some troubles recently and now it’s recovering and growing beautifully again, eventually it will make more babies and I can continue my quest of having a spider plant jungle Outside I have some petunias! The flowers are a bit sparse at the moment, but I think it will grow more And this is some kind of woodland or meadow sage, I can’t remember which (the “real” name is something like Salvia Nemorosa). Bumble bees really like this one And then there’s the hydrangea that I don’t have a yard for but it’s beautiful and I love it and will get the biggest container for it that I can possibly find Over here we have the strawberry plant that’s currently trying to take over my deck. I have the trailers up on the shelf like that because they were trying to sneak into the slats of my porch and would’ve probably taken root in whatever they can find. At some point I will put some more containers with dirt around it so that it can keep expanding These guys are pansies! They’re called jolly jump ups, or something to that effect anyway. As soon as they want even a sip of water they all go completely flat as if though something sat in the plant lmfao, but they spring right back up once you’ve met their demands of water I’ll try to remember to get a picture the next time they’re being dramatic oh my gosh, I almost completely forgot to include the Christmas cactus! I’m still trying to figure this one out, it really struggles in our place and we haven’t been able to find what works for it yet. When it was a little bebe it really loved being in the kitchen window, but it’s way too big now It has pink flowers when it blooms Aside from the eventual spider plant takeover, I’d also love to get a monstera one day, they’re like my dream plant

I’ve got some mood swings right now because my period is about to start, which is always frustrating. As long as I keep reminding myself what’s happening and do things that make me happy, then it helps make it easier. I’m pretty chill at the moment

Yeah, we had the same thing a few years ago too. We topped out around 47C=116.6F during the worst of it. It was so hot, the blinds at our old place were starting to melt and wound up being completely warped from it. Built in AC isn’t really a thing here, and we don’t have a portable AC unit either, so all we could do to protect ourselves from it was cover the windows with thick blankets to block out all light/sun. Thankfully because the skies were clear and humidity generally isn’t a problem, the temperature would come down a lot at night so we could open all the doors and windows, turn the fans on full blast, and do what we could to cool down the place as much as possible during the night before closing everything up again before the sun started to rise. I’m really susceptible to heat exhaustion and will get supremely sick if I’m not careful, so I spent almost the entire time with my feet in cold water and I had a rotation of damp dresses in our freezer so I always had something cold to wear. I also exclusively did the dishes by hand and in cold water during it too

Well it’s only like 10:30am at the moment, so not a whole lot haha. I did unload/reload the dishwasher and give the kitchen a wipe, also started a load of laundry, and vacuumed the floors. Now I’m listening to some tunes on the new headphones.

Our driveway is gravel and would surely suck to shovel. Luckily the landlords are part of an excavation company and have access to all sort of fun toys and we don’t have to shovel at all except for our stairs

Had a pretty chill day at work! After work, caught the bus to London Drugs and got myself a new pair of headphones (shared them in the Latest Acquisitions thread). I also stopped by Opa! which just opened here and grabbed two of whatever their chicken Olympus Bowls are with fries because I didn’t want rice. They’re not both for me, one’s for Andy haha. Now I’m just waiting for Andy to finish up at work and he’s gonna come get me and we’ll go home together

Lmfao so this actually reminds me of the time Andy and I were trying to rewatch Blade Runner (1982) and we never even made it past the first scene with the interrogator because buddy was smoking like a chimney and the whole time both of us were like, “that looks like a fantastic idea!” We finally caved and went out for a smoke because of it haha (irrelevant, but it was a herbal smoke blend and not nicotine) Or how about another time when we were smoking a joint together and we wound up on pretty much the exact topic of this thread because one of us happened to say we felt like a cool anime character while we were smoking. Anime/manga/tv/movies aren’t why I smoke, that comes from the environment I live in and my own choices, but they definitely have an influence and absolutely add a “cool” factor. I don’t think teens will smoke or drink just because they see fictional characters do it, that’s gonna be peer pressure and social settings that makes them actually do it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they view it as being cool if they’ve seen a lot of cool fictional characters doing it. Oh also just wanted to add, smoking and drinking are seen as “adult” things, makes sense because they’re things for adults. What do a lot of teenagers want to be more than anything? Adults, so they can be in charge of their own life. If you smoke or drink as a teenager, would that not then make you an adult? Obviously that’s not how it works, smoking and drinking doesn’t make you an adult, but it might make a teen feel that much closer to being an adult.

Maybe, could even just be something as simple as different manpower and expertise available, but definitely does help debunk any claims of government cover up if anything doesn’t turn out the way people think it should I think you might be overthinking it a bit there, Rosieposie. For something like that to go missing would cause a huge scandal, methinks
