  1. Hi there. We already have a ghost and a ghostly potato here, so it's great to have an alien as well A tour, let's see. Well, have a look at some of the current topics and share your thoughts on it. Otherwise open a thread of your own if you have an idea. Something I find helpful is the 'Unread Content' button on the top right where it shows new posts (and also the 'mark site as read' at the bottom right so you can remove all of the posts from showing in the unread content and it only shows new ones). What else? You get points for posting and opening topics which you can use for various things such as changing your member status etc. Also have a look at clubs, blogs and quizzes!
  2. Yeah, I've known and used different versions of the program since the 2000 version (@Keiko might also have an opinion on it if she wants to contribute). It pretty much fits what you were asking for, as you can add your own tilesets etc, but there are tons you can freely download online if you are not into the whole pixel art stuff. I don't remember the limitations of the MV though (i.e. if you can create 9999 or 99999 or 999999 events etc.). So I don't know if that kid plans on creating a 100+ hour game or not, but that would be something to look out for. Personally, I prefer the versions before MV, but that is a matter of preference and what you are used to. I think MV uses javascript (while older versions used Ruby) and has some other advantages over the older ones (such as, if I remember correctly, randomly generated dungeons and character sprites, easily being ported to other OS). The programming feature is entirely optional and quite easy to add (simply press the button for it and start coding), and it can also be used in addition to the non-programming things (i.e. you can download a script programmed by someone for a specific purpose such as, let's say additional water reflections). You can pretty much do anything 2D with it without knowing any programming as such. Technically you could also create 3D games but I would not recommend. Generally speaking, I think it is quite versatile if you are creative. It gets you the basics of how games work (from the old ones on NES to current ones such as most recent ones on PS4 etc), i.e. you get to understand how things are triggered by what etc. If the kid picks up javascript they could modify even more. Another advantage of it is that there are quite a lot of tutorials and freely available games which you can 'reverse engineer' if you will (and there at least used to be an active community for it, haven't really checked nowadays). So yeah, it is a great program, with which anyone could create a game, but the end result will depend on the person's skill. Something a bit more 'modern' might be 'Dreams'. This seems a bit more 'advanced' in a way but from what I know it is only available on PS4. I heard of this because of a guy who is creating an avatar game with it, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2j48hm8b2ityC39SqhDKQg
  3. That's a question I have about so many new things
  4. Hi there! Glad to see another long-time anime fan here!
  5. I have been watching the anime and caught up to it recently. I think the whole arc around the Licht, Devil thing was really interesting. Generally I wouldn't say it is the greatest anime but it is entertaining as a general shonen.
  6. Hi there! We do have some sports anime fans lurking around here as well
  7. @installed I get that. Different people have different approaches and ways to deal with stuff. Not knowing your whole background, I might have been too 'brisk' in my statements. I think I expressed myself poorly no hard feelings! The making it sound like a form thing is mostly because I am terrible at writing things in a casual way (in my defense, I'm not a native speaker ), so a lot of stuff I say sounds like it is from some college paper.
  8. Hi there! We need some younger members around here, so stick around Can't say I had any such experience when it comes to anime, but generally, and this is just my own opinion, I think it might be more helpful to talk to someone in person (if there are any available) rather than on the internet when it comes to serious things like these. But I think this depends from person to person. Anyway, hope someone here fits the description for discord dms!
  9. Hi there, Zuko kinda reminds me of Avatar Judging by your list, I'd recommend Yu Yu Hakusho
  10. Oh, I really didn't pick up on that French and cheese thing completely went over my head, but yeah, makes sense
  11. Yeah, I definitely agree. This week's episode was kinda lacking. I thought there would be more to the whole kids plot, especially from the way they hyped it in last week's preview. And don't even get me started on Aoyama, what even was that Maybe it's just me, but I kinda didn't get it. Definitely agree there, @Ohiotaku, this season kinda feels half-baked. It's still entertaining and all, but it just not on par with the other seasons.
  12. yeah I don't really need them, so they would just take up my time. Yeah it is kinda weird nowadays
  13. Finally something that can run Crisis who is in the market for a kidney?
  14. HI there! plenty of others here who like anime, cosplay and video games!
  15. Post a link when you've some videos! Only suggestions I can think of is to make sure and not take anime clips that are too long because I think they get taken down due to copyright claims. As for genre, I think for the first couple of videos why not include all genre at first and later get into the specific ones.
  16. @Muco I thought you were talking about my tinnitus
  17. Hi there, simple person Great to see you're interested in languages! There are others here who speak Portuguese, German or Spanish as well, but I don't think there are many active Russian speakers here. So it's great to have one now!
  18. Hi there! The more cat fans the better!
  19. what goes up, but never goes down?
  20. I still wonder exactly what her quirk does though, or how it works. Yes it "developmentally rewinds" people, but that kinda seems odd to me. I don't think Allmight's quirk could be restored, but Lemillion's probably will, so I wonder what reasoning they'll give for that. Anyway tomorrow will probably be a much lighter episode
  21. always cereal then milk. I didn't know there was another way
  22. Hi there! So what are some of your favorite anime?
