  1. Akira is set in 2019. Edge of Tomorrow is set in 2020. GI Joe the Rise of Cobra is set in 2020. Highlander 2 is set in 2024, we're almost there The Postman (underrated) is set in 2013 The original Robocop was set in the "future" of 1991
  2. MMPR, Samurai and Megaforce. And the theme to Jungle Fury. Watched the latter 3 with my (now) 11 year old, but MPR was too...rough looking for him. Now my 4 year old is working his way through them, and he likes Dino Charge...but he also likes Dino Dan and Dinosaur Train so there's a pattern there.
  3. Today it was 109. should start coming down though.
  4. Live, because they are hard to search for on Google or Youtube.
  5. Ah I was confused when the sample time zone map listed 8/3. That being said, after work I am easily confused. I'd like to watch some Anime but I'm good with pretty much whatever. Mainly I just want some camaraderie with my newfound comrades.
  6. hmm, I second Martian Successor Nadesico, Eureka Seven, and Gurren Lagann. I also feel somehow you would like Code Geass, and A Certain Magical Index.
  7. Gintama. Both MC's are pretty deadpan, both have funny moments but then the MC gets all serious and shows their strength.
  8. I need to catch up! thats how it seems to me: danganronpa meets haruhi meets btooom or something.
  9. I’d be up for it if the time works!
  10. I’m feeling pretty well, I have a day off tomorrow and only a couple of errands to run. Might even get a few episodes of Danmachi in.
  11. I prefer subs but if the va is good I don’t mind dubs. My son prefers dubs so the ones we watch together we watch dubbed. for context I’ve gotten to where I watch everything subtitled.
  12. I’ve never been an advertiser of my fandoms. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, I’ve just always been a plain Shirts kind of guy
  13. Just watched ep 1 of Isekai Cheat Magician. Seems pretty by the numbers, but sometimes that’s ok. I dug it alright, will try ep 2 Monday. I have my 11 year old this weekend so we will continue our binge of My Hero Academia...so new stuff will have to wait till Monday.
  14. ...The US military wouldn't kill an unarmed civilian either, because they could be detained without lethal force. The U.S. police AND military both follow the rule of minimum acceptable force, meaning the least level of force necessary to accomplish the task (this task being to prevent breach). When the officer/soldier follows protocol that is. regrettable things happen in the heat of the moment, which is what I am afraid of in this situation. One person inadvertently fires a shot and all hell breaks loose because of nerves and tension.
  15. RIght now I have a PS4 Pro, Switch, Vita, 3ds, and PC. Besides my backlog I am currently playing Ni No Kuni 2, Bloodstained, and patiently awaiting Fire Emblem Three Houses. Edit: misread the topic a bit. I chipped away at Ni No Kuni on ps4 today.
  16. Honestly this is less about the military vs civilians and more about civilians breaking the law. You trespass, you get arrested. You resist arrest, the use of force escalates. Ethics always play a role, but IMO only the most extremely pacifist side of the ethics scale would allow civilians to trespass on government property unopposed. @Illusion of Terra are you saying civilians in your country would be allowed to break into secure military facilities without opposition? Not being antagonistic but you keep speaking of the differences between the US and your country. Trying to better understand.
  17. That Cheetos KFC sandwich looks revolting. I can’t eat different meats in the same meal.
  18. https://myanimelist.net/animelist/castigear just started it, it’s about 1% complete.
  19. I don’t think anyone is claiming it isn’t a difficult issue. If anyone shows up at all, it will end up being a nightmare for everyone involved regardless of the choices that are made. A significant amount of the population will have a serious issue with whatever action is taken. On the topic of should vs should not this or that, it really doesn’t matter. The military has clear protocols in place and civilians WILL not be allowed to force their way into a secure military base. That being said I seriously doubt lethal force will be on the table. I expect it will be more about fortification rather than retaliation. The goobers will eventually give up and go home.
  20. Problem with not doing anything is that it sets a dangerous precedent.
  21. If even one person has a weapon of some sort they are all screwed. That being said, I'm with @efaardvark, there's a bit of a natural selection thing going on. Unfortunately it would be a PR nightmare for the government too, because any time the military moves against civilians in any way certain groups fall into outrage...regardless of how stupid those civilians are. There will be enough mentally ill individuals and people who legitimately think they are "making history" that I worry plenty of people will indeed show up.
