  1. There has been news about a Netflix original live action adaption of the amazing Anime Death Note, but what we're really going to get is something no where NEAR the actual greatness of Death Note. I got wind that the names of Light Yagami and Misa Amane would be being changed in the live action and quickly found out that's not the only problem ... Upon reading a few articles and watching the Teaser for this upcoming show I was absolutely horrified and down right disgusted with what they've done! They cast Light (Now changing his name to Light Turner to "Americanise" it) as a blonde, Caucasian male ... Umm, problem? YES! A big problem! Light Yagami has orange hair, not blonde, ORANGE! He's also Asian in the Anime, now I know most people wouldn't get too upset about having him be Caucasian in the live action and I wouldn't be too upset either ... IF they hadn't changed L and Misa's race as well! L is now black with a shaved head, Oh dear Lord save me! I legit almost threw my computer on the ground when seeing this. In the show L is actually American and lived in England for quiet a few years before going to Japan JUST for the Kira case, so I don't get why they couldn't have gotten the Caucasian actor for L ... I'm just so upset right now because L is black, has no hair, and is shown WEARING SHOES (Yes, shoes! The things he was NEVER seen wearing in the show. NEVER!) in one of the released pictures for the show! Ahhh, what have they done to L!? Misa Amane had her name changed to Mia Sutton and has black/brown hair, is shown smoking in one scene, and looks like she's going to be overly edgy. Why!? Misa was always so cute and happy, she was the person who gave the more light sided feeling to Death Note and it was a perfect contrast with her and Light, if they make her be a dark teen then what is her purpose? Her whole purpose in the show was that she was dumb and trusting enough to just follow Light around like a puppy, she was the cute character of the show! Is she even going to wear her gothic outfits? I loved those! All in all I'm completely upset and disgusted, why can't they just make it like the show? I adored Death Note, absolutely loved it, and now they're ruining it! Here are the articles if you want to check them out yourself ... The Trailer and their "New names" http://elitedaily.com/entertainment/film/death-note-netflix-whitewashing/1834792/ The slide show where L is wearing shoes ... (Still upset about this) http://ca.ign.com/articles/2017/03/22/live-action-death-note-movie-release-date-announced
  2. In Anime and other Tv, there's usually that character that really makes you feel for them. For instance ... The one with a sad past, the one who's in love but it will never work out, the cute one that ends up dying, ect. ect. Please list the character(s) that really made you feel for them, I will post a character as well. 1. Levi Ackerman from Attack On Titan.
  3. The RV, because I hate being anywhere near water aside from swimming pools or such man made water areas ... Would you rather spend 1 year in an Anime world of your choice but forget every detail about the year before? Or, would you rather spend 1 year in any Anime world of your choice but spend the next year without being able to talk?
  4. Are there any "unpopular" (As in, not very liked) Anime characters that most people find annoying, but you actually like? For instance, some people might think a character is too loud, whiney, dramatic, or even boring but you still like the character. I have a few characters I actually really like but most people find annoying. 1. Recon from Sword Art Online. 2. Misa-Misa from Death Note. 3. Armin Arlert from Attack On Titan.
  5. Higurashi (When They Cry) On my "To watch" list.
  6. Well, I was thinking we could just give a tbh on anything having to do with the post above, it could be about the post itself or the person who posted it.
  7. Umm ... This is just an idea but what if we did a Tbh forum? As in, we give the user above us a To Be Honest about them ... Like, for instance somebody was to say "Tbh, I really like your avatar/sig" or something. Just an idea I had ...
  8. @RepentantSky Just wondering if I could get some more detail on what I asked earlier, such as what characters your found annoying and what you thought would've been a better way to introduce the Ghoul gene to Kaneki other than how they did it in show. I listed a few ways in my earlier post and explained why they wouldn't work but I'd be glad to see what you think would work better.
  9. I'm watching Durarara!! right now and it's really interesting so far.
  10. Well actually ... You cannot become a ghoul from being bitten by one, (Like Vampires/werewolves) experimentation is also out of the picture because it would have been kind of strange since Kaneki's supposed to be a normal kid not somebody who was experimented on because that gives him his innocent side, cross breeding could lead to Kaneki's predicament but if that's what they went with it wouldn't have given him his human side because he would have been raised with the ghouls or at least always had the ghoul urges. So, what do you suggest would have been a less "Over the top" way to turn Kaneki into a ghoul? Because personally, I thought the surgery was the best way too go, the other things I listed would not have worked nearly as well. I have yet to watch the Anime (I read the Mangas) so I don't know what the voice work is like, so what characters did you find annoying? As I said before I have yet to see the actually Anime and have only read the Mangas (Up to Season 2) and since the Anime had a totally different storyline for Anime's second season I can't really say anything about that last part of your post, I do plan to watch Tokyo Ghoul soon though and hopefully Season 3 will be better for you.
  11. Maybe so but Attack on Titan is it's own thing, it's meant to develop at a slower pace because you get to see every single change these characters go through, it's also not supposed to just be horrifying and scary, it's supposed to be thought provoking and make you wonder how the titans came to be, what they really are, how they can be stopped, and such. It's not meant to just be a horror show, it's much more than that.
  12. I get what you're saying but still, if the fight for the cities in Attack on Titan had been shortened for some quicker character development it would not have made the show better, it would have most likely diminished most of the good qualities seen in the show since character development (Especially in action packed, survival shows) should be a little slower than others since most characters are usually too scared, angry, or just caught up in trying to survive that they actually stop to take in everything and grow as a person ... Personally, I found the pace for each characters development to be perfect, not too slow or too quick that you feel it's unrealistic.
  13. @RepentantSky Well, the whole show does center on 3 cities which all play a major roll in the survival of all human kind so it kind of makes sense that they'd want to get their 3rd wall back ... I mean, they had to "Get rid of" thousands of people just because they didn't have enough space or food to give to them because they lost the 3rd wall. Also, the whole point of the show is kind of for Eren to get back to the basement and figure out what's going on, so they do need to fight to get the 3rd wall back and to keep the 2nd wall Titan free or else they'd have to kill of even more people. I personally thought they had major character development for pretty much everybody, and if they'd sped on the fighting it'd have looked much too easy and probably really thrown off the whole instant danger factor they were going for. As for the character development I thought it was perfectly paced with the show and gave you just enough at just the right time ... For instance, Eren kind of starts out with all the development he needs since the first episode really changes him into who he will be for the rest of his life, along with the backstory of Mikasa which also shows just how far Eren's willing to go to save people ... During the show he does in fact get quiet a bit more development though, he starts out as the kind of cocky, aggressive kid who doesn't know what he's doing, he then turns into a really damaged kid with PTSD which causes him to become even a bit more angry and mean towards people, later on when he meets Levi he starts to actually respect him and try to cut back on his aggressive personality. Mikasa doesn't have much development after her backstory but that's because she doesn't need it yet, she's got PTSD as well it seems but she reacts to it differently than Eren, instead of being angry and aggressive she keeps it all inside and blocks her emotions ... In her childhood she was a happy little kid, she was seen smiling and laughing just like any other kid would be, but after what happens to her she drastically changes and becomes very quiet and reserved. She does develop a little more even later though after she becomes obsessed with Eren, this is actually major development because it shows she does still feel emotions she just doesn't show them well. Armin gets a lot of development as well ... Starting out as a quiet, reserved, bookish young boy he befriends Eren and Mikasa, once in the army he's still very much the same but he starts to talk more and give input which is used to help his whole group stay alive, he does still have major insecurity issues but of course he would, if he changed too drastically it would unrealistic and very out of character since he's supposed to be the quiet yet smart one. He does start work much harder at becoming better with the 3d maneuvering gear and says he doesn't "Want to be a burden" anymore, you then get to see that he thought of himself as a burden to Eren and Mikasa for forever, he then finds out they hold a lot of respect for him and probably wouldn't survive without him. Jean who's a secondary character even gets a lot of character development. He starts out as a cocky, arrogant, annoying, whiny jerk who wants to be in the King's guard so he doesn't have to ever see Titans, and he isn't very likable at all, but he later changes into a brave soldier who still struggles with feeling like he's not good enough or can't be a leader, I enjoyed watching this transition and can't wait to see how he develops later on.
  14. I probably wouldn't get a tattoo but there are a few Anime related tattoos that would be pretty cool if I were to get one. 1. I loved Uta's neck tattoo which reads, (With translation) "I can live neither with you, nor without you." and I think that'd be pretty cool to have in it's original Latin in which Uta got his. 2. Getting two small X's under my right eye would also be cool (Like Suzuya Juuzou's.) or getting the stitches he has in his arms, neck, ect. 3. Having "What's 1,000 minus 7?" on my wrist, maybe Kaneki's mask bellow it as well. 4. Getting a tattoo of Eren's necklace (The Key) with the words, "If you win you live. If you lose, you die. If you don't fight, you can't win!" 5. Having Kirito's quote, "Everybody can fight. It's just a choice of whether you should." would also be cool.
  15. I absolutely loved it! Personally, I found Walter to be a ... Well, hero. Yeah, yeah, most people see him as being one of, if not the worst, bad guys in TV history but I disagree with that so much. Walter was a good guy, he did what he thought he had to do to keep his family safe, and yes, that did end up with him committing multiple crimes, killing, and destroying his own family relationship, but that's the point! He sacrificed his need to be loved by his family so that he could keep them safe and give them a better life, I don't understand how people watching this show could ever think Walter was a bad guy. Yes, almost everyone hated him but that wasn't his fault, it was because they couldn't see just how much he'd done for THEM. 1. EVERYTHING he did was to give his family a better life 2. He actually used ALL of his money on his family and their family 3. He loved everyone, he literally DIED for his friend 4. Everyone he killed was a CRIMINAL and therefor he actually saved more lives by getting them off the streets 5. He was a great Father, friend, teacher, and just all around good guy ... I mean, he never gave up on Jesse, and he never gave up on Skylar even though she deserved it. I absolutely loved the ending ... Walter got to die with his creation and knowing that he died saving Jesse's life, he knew his family would get the money he'd worked so hard for, and he knew he took down a whole meth ring in just one night (Pretty darn impressive). What really hit you right in the heart though is the fact that his family hated him, his wife had cheated on him, wished for his death, took his children away, committed crimes, told him to kill Jesse, and still thought she was better than him ... The fact that his son hated him, had wished for his death, and would probably never respect him or love him ever again even though Walter did EVERYTHING for THEM was also horrible, I was absolutely appalled at the fact that his son instantly hated him after finding out what he'd done, he didn't even care to find out that all of it had been to keep him safe and give him a better life. I also loved how, in the end, Jesse forgave Walter for everything ... Jesse wasn't going to hold it against him because he knew everything Walter did was to save his family. Jesse, to me, was the most understanding person in the ENTIRE show towards Walter ... Even thought Walter let Jesse's girlfriend die and almost had a kid killed Jesse still didn't hate him, he in fact forgave him and respected him. I found it entirely disgusting that Skylar, who Walter NEVER hurt, thought she was so much better than him just because she wasn't selling meth. Well guess what? She was out cheating on her DYING Husband, committing tax crimes, and later on telling Walter to kill people! How is she better than him!? In the end she doesn't even apologize for her actions, she doesn't even tell him that she loves him, she does nothing except attack him like a crazed maniac just because she wouldn't let Walter explain what actually happened. Walter Jr. was also quite horrible in the end, instantly siding against his Father and wishing his death even though he had only got one side of the story, Skylar's side. Hank was also ungrateful seeing as Walter paid for his therapy with the Meth money, and saved his life multiple times, but still Hank just saw him as a monster because he did something illegal ... Well, where was Hank's sense of justice when his own Wife was stealing things? Or when he himself was smoking illegal cigars? Oh, that's right, he didn't care if he was doing something illegal as long as he didn't get caught. Marie ended up being just as bad, she was stealing things and accepting illegal money for her Husbands treatment but when she found out that Walter sold Meth to give his family a better life she was instantly angry at him, she too wished for his DEATH. Jesse was literally the only person who actually forgave Walter even though he was the one who suffered; Walter never hurt Skylar, his son or anyone else she loved and yet she hated him and so did Walter Jr. Walter never hurt Hank and actually saved his life (Multiple time) and paid for his medical bills, which helped Marie and yet they still hated him ... Walter let Jesse's girlfriend die, and he poisoned his next girlfriend's son, yet Jesse was the ONLY ONE to forgive Walter even though Jesse was the one who got hurt by him; but guess what? Jesse forgave him because he understood why Walter did it, he wasn't just a judgemental hypocrite who got half the story and then instantly hated him, he actually loved Walter more than Walter's OWN FAMILY loved Walter and I found that pretty amazing ... The sort of Father and Son bond that Walt and Jesse had was beautiful, it did hit a few bumps in the road but it never broke, they never hated each other, Walt always saw Jesse as his son and responsibility and Jesse, even though he didn't say it, looked up to Walter and respected him ... I personally thought they couldn't have had a better ending, it hit you right in the heart with Walter dying and knowing his family hated him but it also gave you that bit of happiness since Jesse forgave Walter, it showed no matter how rough things became, TRUE love, loyalty, respect, and understanding still survived, Walter knew Jesse never hated him, he knew Jesse looked up to him, and he knew that Jesse would probably have a much better life now ... I mean, I took it that Jesse would go adopt his recently deceased girlfriends kid and quit using all together, which would be a big step for him but it would help him cope with everything that happened without using drugs. Walter also got to die knowing that he took down a Meth ring, some of the Mexican cartel, and made enough money for his family to live on when he was gone, he accomplished his goals and so much more.
  16. I prefer a Yandere, having someone who loves you that much is pretty rare.
  17. I started sitting like L from Death Note after watching it but I'd already sat quiet a bit like him before, so ...
  18. Gotta have my cute little baby Juuzou up here.
  19. I'm pretty obsessed with this song right about now ... I just find it to be really beautiful yet sad at the same time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGwRoGyPxMY
  20. I have quiet a few because I tend to relate to Anime quotes more than most things ... From Tokyo Ghoul "What's wrong isn't me, what's wrong is the world." -Kaneki Ken "Why is it the beautiful things are entwined more deeply with death than with life?" -Kaneki Ken "We need to have a mask that we never take off." -Uta "Nec possum tecum vivere, nec sine te." **Translated** "I can live neither with you, nor without you." -Uta From Attack On Titan "I don't like the terms 'good person' or 'bad person' because it's impossible to be entirely good to everyone or entirely bad to everyone. To some, you are a good person, while to others, you are a bad person." -Armin Arlert
