  1. I've been playing the ever loving crap out of Yonder. I didn't think a game that I basically bought just to get a break of constant combat in games would end up being something I'd spend so much time with, but it turned out that way.
  2. There is a Bioshock collection on current gen consoles and PC. But yeah, you probably shouldn't have sold your 3DS. There's a lotta games on there that still make it worth having.
  3. Final Fantasy XV may be getting a Switch port. Now granted, nothing has been confirmed, but a 40 second clip from a Gamescom livestream suggest that those working on FFXV do want to do something with the game regarding the Switch. Lord knows that if the game can be ported to mobile, the switch can handle a version of it. Now I'm just waiting for them to say something about a proper handheld something for the series.
  4. I will be honest and say that I don't have any. Despite my previous posts about why I may drop an anime, it still takes a lot for me to do so. That means, when I drop it, it's done, and I don't pick it back up because it did something that I didn't like. It's a bit of a different story for parts of an anime I skipped, and then got back into once a pointless dragged on something or a bad filler come into play, but yeah, when I drop an anime, I'm never going to pick it back up for any reason.
  5. Okay, holy crap. Gamescom has been overwhelming so far, but I'm gonna summarize the more interesting points for anyone who's interested in the event, so buckle yourselves in because there is a lot to go over. I will be posting any articles, but pretty much everything I talk about can be found on Dualshockers, Gematsu IGN or USGamer. Age of Empires: Definitive Edition has a release date, and Definitive Editions of II and III are coming, and Age of Empires IV is also in the works. You will see a theme for a couple of these stories, where a remake is either close to release, or announced and a sequel for the series is coming, or vice versa, a sequel has been made and then a remake was commissioned by the original developers, so get used to that. That said, the first Age of Empires remake is coming October 19th, none of the other games coming have a release date, but they will all be available on PC. Attack On Titan 2 was announced. We don't have any platforms confirmed, but it's safe to say this one will also come out for PC, Xbox One and PS4, like the first one did. The game is set for release sometime early 2018. Not really Gamescom news, but it's still important and it came out around the same time, but Crackdown 3 has been delayed until Spring of 2018 to allow for more development time for improvements and such. A Hole New World, which released on PC and Xbox in May and June respectively is now headed for PS4. Like the previous release's schedules, the first three people who get all the trophies (in the case of PC and Xbox it was achievements) will get an NES cartridge of the game. It's a Metroidvania platformer action title. The game will release September 5th in North America, and September 6th in Europe. Biomutant, a game that was leaked just about a day or two ago is confirmed. It's post apocalyptic action RPG with anthropomorphic animals. There's a CG trailer for it, but that's about it. No release dates or platforms are confirmed but the game is being developed by THQ Nordic and a new team of developers called Experiment 101 who is made up of devs who worked on Just Cause and Mad Max. Shenmue III got it's first real trailer and it's somewhat odd. The characters look and act like they did back during Shenmue II but everything around them looks like a modern game. Still no release date of any kind though. I believe there was a release window mentioned at some point, but I honestly don't remember what it was other than a season if latter part of 2018. White Day 2: Swan Song 2 was announced for PS4 and PSVR. The Remake of White Day: A Labyrinth Named School starts releasing tomorrow all the way until the 29th depending on region and system. This makes it the second series to get a sequel after a remake has already been decided on. ReCore Definitive Edition, which was also leaked a day or two ago was confirmed last night. It will have better visuals and be upgradable to 4K when the Xbox One X is released. It will also include an expansion, that will be free for those who own the regular edition of the game. It releases August 29th. Bioshock 10th anniversary edition is coming November 14th. The edition is for Xbox One and PS4, and will include a nearly foot tall figure of a big daddy and a little sister. The Big Daddy lights up, has a voice and the Drill on it is motorized. The asking price is 199.99 US. FFXV is finally coming to PC early 2018, and will be able to support up to 8K visuals. No exact date was given. Fear Effect is getting a remake, this is story is a bit complicated. Back in April of last year, a Kickstarter was made by an Indie Company called Sushee. They successfully funded a project to make a Sequel to Far Effect called Fear Effect: Sedna. Last night we found that Square Enix has also hired them to make a remake of the first game. There's no word on which is coming first, but they will both be here at one point. During Xbox's "conference" at Gamescom it was revealed that PubG has sold over 8 million units online, and has over 600,000 active players. FE, which was one of the few games people paid attention to during EA's conference just before E3 officially kicked off, is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch early 2018 and got a new trailer to boot. A game called Mothergunship which is an action FPS sort of game was also announced. It came with a trailer that showed some actual gameplay, so if it sounds interesting to you, go check it out. Fire Emblem Warriors has a release date of October 20th after a new trailer dropped. We'll still don't have a trailer for 3DS though, or gameplay, and the only characters we've seen thus far are from Fates and Awakening, which is an egregious oversight to say the least. Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker showed off some it's online play. It also has a class system which consists of face to face attackers, ranged fighters, defensive fighters and healers. Groups can also be made for the online battles. Finally the trailer showed that we can make custom fighters and much like Dragonball Xenoverse games, learn techniques from characters from the anime. Speaking of DBZ Dragon Ball FighterZ got a new trailer show casing androids 16 and 18, with 17 along for some assists with 18's attacks. There's no confirmation on whether or 17 will be his own character in the game yet. There was also hints of a story for the game that is going to be unique for DB FighterZ. The game was also given a release month of February 2018. Arms is getting a new fighter who had been teased previously called Lola Pop, but I didn't see a release date for her in the trailer. Nintendo's official YouTube channel does have it if you want to her fight though. The intro and Opening cutscene for Starfox 2 was also posted on their YouTube channel if want to see it. Apparently the translation of the game was done back when it was set to release and that will be the version we here in the SNES classic edition for the game. Final Fantasy XV is coming to mobile in FFXV: Pocket Edition. The game will come in 10 episodes with the first one being free, but all will be available at launch, and honestly why is this even a thing? If they really wanted to port the game, the best option would have been to put it on a proper handheld like the Vita and/or the 3DS. The visuals in the trailer are so bad that it looks like something in between Final Fantasy 7 and 8 on the PS1,accept it's worse than that because it looks like a game made out fanart. It's coming this fall, so I guess we'll so how messed up it is. There's still actually a lot more to talk about, but I've been talking about it all for almost two days straight so I'm gonna stop there for now. If there's anything I missed that you want to talk about, bring it up, and let's talk some Gamescom because it's a bigger deal than I thought it was going to be.
  6. You know I saw a lot about SOMA. Even saw a few videos of some LP's. Never ended up getting it though for some reason. Anyways, for the topic the most recent games I bought were Sonic Mania and Undertale for PS4.
  7. Clannad is a great show. I only watched it about two years after it came out, but it's well worth it.
  8. I cannot place these in order because a lot of them are very close to one another where I'm concerned. Full Metal Alchemist They are My Noble Masters Cowboy Bebop H20 Footprints in the Sand Hantsuki Fist of the North Star Tales of Zesteria the X Manabi Straight Your Lie in April Clannad AnoHana Hiayako Hanasaki Iroha Eureka 7 Another Usagi Drop Alice to Zoruko The Devil is a Part Timer Working! Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Intentionally skipping any movies because I could probably make three lists by heart of those without a second thought.
  9. Unfortunately the Patreon is without a doubt their's. The Official Facebook page for them all but confirms that they have one: https://www.facebook.com/kissanime.ru/ They even pinned the post about it.
  10. Okay so looking into it a bit more, which I just took a break from to answer that last post, because I wasn't sure how close I was to getting an answer, what I've come up with, is that they are ultimately illegal, and here's why. Kissanime does not in any regard use their own host to post episodes of anime. Instead they use host sites like Google and OpenLoad which are legal hosts, however, they have broken the rules in regards to those hosts by posting ads on the videos and not paying anyone from the revenue they make on the ads. I still can't be sure if the Patreon, Paypal or bitcoin donations violate the law, but outsourcing from other hosts and violating their rules while not technically illegal makes them at best morally gray. However I would lean more towards them being illegal because they are basically using a legal loophole in the law that says only the host can be condemned for piracy and they might be using legit hosts to gain money, and if any of that does not go to the website, which I also need to look into still, then anything despite what the law says is still taken advantage of a loophole, no better than when someone uses a tax loophole. In other words if anyone from Kissanime is making money off of the site, it's basically dirty money because they aren't paying anyone from whom they get their hosts, or any of the creators.
  11. Well I can't say for sure if the claims against Kissanime are legit, but it's good to stay away from them for now just in case.
  12. What I'm more or less looking for is people who have been on the site for a decent amount of time that can speak for the character of the one who runs it and the social media sites. The people who are attacking them are so angry that I couldn't get get a straight answer out of any of them from twitter, and I doubt there'd be much difference with those defending them because they seem even angrier. People from where I'm getting this info from are too busy being angry with one another to deal with someone like me who stands in the middle and is just trying to figure what's going on, because you know, how dare I not take a side from the get go. I'm hoping people here who seem to be much more thoughtful and willing to listen to different opinions will help those of us out of the loop understand what's going on to the best of their ability. I trust here to be a great place for that sort of thing.
  13. The game was given a English trailer and release date, though the PC versions is being delayed into next year: http://www.dualshockers.com/cyberdimension-neptunia-4-goddesses-online-gets-western-release-date-october-pc-version-coming-early-2018/
  14. For those who don't know, kissanime is a streaming site for anime that has, a background worth looking into. For starters, a lot of people seem to believe that Kiss is taking already pirated content, posting it on their website, and putting ads on it to make money off of stolen content, without paying the creators of said content. Now I have not been able to confirm yet whether or not that is true, but they do have ads on their site. The problem with that is, is that they have now have potentially two other ways to make money, and they are making it seem like it's all just to run the site. The other ways they can make money is through a patreon or from the website's donation option that allows donation through paypal, that links to the patreon or that links to bitcoins. It doesn't help either that they recently sent out a Facebook post that shows then being angry about being reported on patreon and are threatening to disallow free use of their site. Now I've heard some people say on this site that they use Kissanime, so I'm wondering if you can help me verify these claims or denounce them. I understand this is a topic of controversy and what may come of that is not normal content compared to what tends to come from this site, but it effects us all because if they're stealing, it's from an industry that's already in financial trouble and if they aren't, then there's a bunch of people attacking them needlessly. Either way, this is a part of our entertainment medium that needs to be addressed.
  15. I do understand that, and I get why some people are okay with it, but for me, it's hard to stay that involved with a game that asks you to grind for sometimes hours on end just to get one item you need, while under a time limit, and with no story. I need a reason other than getting the next armor or weapon to play a game for hours and hours on end. Also, I can't but feel like faster weapons aren't given enough love, and considering I always use fast attacks when given the option, that was kind of a downer.
  16. It is nice that we have an exception like Yuri on Ice for those who like it, but it wasn't for me so I can't really say much about it since I dropped it around episode 5.
  17. SAO is a great example of how to take an interesting concept that had rarely been done, and completely ruin it. Yes, I will take whatever dislikes come from saying that but it's true. There was potential to make something great and it was ruined by short rushed arcs, the inability for it's creators to keep it in their pants long enough to tell a compelling story instead of jumping into fan service, and the idea of leaving SAO was the absolute worst thing that could have happened to the show. Any real stakes of drama were lost the first time we saw what a god character Kirito had become and how everyone outside of that first guild that he cared about had all the plot armor they needed to never really be in danger. Also the tsundere gimmick is bad enough as is, but adding to by speeding it up to the point where most would question why it's even there, just makes it worse. Also every character being defined by where they fall into or out of the pointless harem that came too late to matter, just makes everything one note and stops all character development from ever happening. SAO is one of the best example of how to waste potential.
  18. There's a lot that could be done to fix SAO, but I don't think your suggestions are it, no offense. Also, Asuna is a tusndere, they just sped it up like they did with everything in the first season and the manga. For starters, leaving the world of SAO was a bad idea. If they really wanted to have these other games that the characters have played in, they should left them to the video games they've released on PlayStation. SAO though was the best possible place to have a compelling story and they ruined it. However, what we got of SAO, I wouldn't change that much, to a point. I wouldn't for example, do all of the time skips that just were just mentioned, and instead I would see that at least some of thousands of character deaths we heard of were seen. As for the shorter arcs and events that already happened, I'd keep some of them the same. The story about people being killed in town was a good mystery, even if the ending being solved by a food item was really not good at all. Instead it should have been that another person was in on it and either Kirito or Asuna caught on after witnessing it a second time, which turned out to be something that was not intended. Where Lisbeth is concerned, I honestly think she would have been a better fit for Kirito, since Asuna was still being a tsundere and honestly, rewarding tsundere characters for acting that way needs to stop, it's just incredibly annoying at this point. Also, have her help during the fights instead of just being amazed at how god-like Kirito is. That's been old for far too long. As the end of her episodes, have her be a regular in Kirito's party, someone he allows in because he likes her deep in his heart and him admitting it and getting over the guild he lost could have been done better with a character he already had feelings for. The next thing to really fix is the part with that kid character and her monster thing, which I can't remember the name of either of them anymore, which is kind of proof to how bad it was. First off, get rid of that stupid scene where she wants Kirito to help her without looking because virtual underwear. That scene alone brought that character to a low point she's never going to get out of. Instead, have her do something like save herself and show that she doesn't really need her pet, but that she still wants it back because it's one of the few friends she has at the time in cruel death game world. At the end where Kirito was taking all that damage and it meant nothing, have that only work because she's healing him while the other characters fail to hit her with anything because her new found confidence has increased her abilities. Yui's intro arc, ends with her dying, flat out. Most of it can stay the same because I remember anything I hated in that arc until the part where she lived, but no to that one bit but no fishing and like Lisbeth be his girlfriend. First of all, at that point Kirito had shown himself incapable of taking damage, capable of beating a raid level boss on his own, and then he had hacker skills that one no ever has had up to this point in real life. He's too much of a god, having her die when he tried to save her would have been much better. Also, no father/mother/daughter relationship thing Kirito. Asuna can still have it and that can be the reason why Kirito tries so hard to save her, because one of his friends would be desperately sad if she dies, but let her. This is supposed to be a drama, so let drama happen. Also, by the time all these arcs have passed, only 6 months at most has gone by, and they are only around the level 25 to 30 area. The arc where they find out who is the main villain, that can stand but it has to be at the actual end of the game, like Lisbeth, Kirito, Asuna and the rest have reached level 100, and there's no boss in sight, not until whatever the guy's name was attacks trying to kill Lisbeth to get Kirito going and then say Asuna or someone takes the blow and dies or nearly dies, having a similar effect. Honestly Kirito ending up with someone he loves should be the only real happy point and take away from this show. The rest of it needs to lined with death and drama, and not be filled with so much plot armor for anything Kirito had a chance to have a thing with and other minor characters that aren't important enough to die. For that matter, make some more male characters who are worth a damn, and don't make Klein a desperate whiny, lonely loser type of character, because that's overdone. More than anything though, SAO just needed to slow down. There were way too many arcs that happened in too few episodes and they even cut it short because they couldn't wait to put in as many fan service episodes and harem related BS as they could possibly fit. There's a lot more that can be done, but here's some groundwork for what should have been.
  19. Number 8 I could have perhaps explained better, but think about it like this, we get tired of Hollywood using the same plot lines time in and time out, and anime has a habit of doing this as well. For example, we get introduced to a main character who has some huge character flaw but that ends up being their strength, so we hear the same lines about their character flaw at the start of the show, and the same ones once it ends up being their strength. Another example would be having the villain say that they plan to destroy the world or an enemy clan who is actually in the right using their own power or an Ex Machina item and they all say it the same way. Reusing lines and only adding in a little bit of dialogue that only works for whatever show is just lazy and tired to me. Harems that do what you seem to enjoy are few and far between though, to the point where they could easily be handled in other anime without the harem. Unless or until that changes, I see no point in them. I do wish more would be done right, but I wouldn't expect it either. Number 1 has a bit of history. When anime was first being brought to the West, voice acting for them was not taken very seriously. Lines were delivered poorly and were very cheesy. Meanwhile in Japan, who had been doing voice acting for a long time, was taking VA work as seriously then as they do know, but the problem was the voices sounded all the same. Over time in the west, voice actors like Steven Blum, Wendee Lee and several others were coming along who did take the acting seriously, and through them the quality changed, but Japan banked on the style of voice acting they used to hit nostalgia hard enough that they wouldn't have to change it. Given how so many people prefer subs over dubs, it's easy to say that they won that, but it also caused them to be complacent and never actually move the quality of voice acting forward, even though western voice acting was still improving in many ways. Japan it seems, has been teaching people how to sound the same for over 40 years now, and while occasionally you'll get a different sounding voice like Maka from Soul Eater and Natsu from Fairy Tail, for the most part, it all sounds the same, and I think it's gotten old. I also believe that letting different sounding voices into the genre will have a much more positive effect than leaving them be.
  20. I'm of a casual sort of fan. I've played Ultimate 3 and 4 and a little of the one on PSP, but I never get that far with the games because I think the world is far too interesting to not have a great story to go along with it. Monster Hunter Stories on the other hand fixes that issue entirely. Eeven the demo on the 3DS has got me more excited than I was before.
  21. Well that's why it's a so far list, but I get it. Monster Hunter Stories, Ultra Sun and Moon and .hack://GU Last Recode are already going to change my list.
  22. To add to this, entertainment and art usually go hand in hand. Think about, music is an art, although it often lacks a visual, but not always. Comic books, art, anime, art, video games, art, TV Shows and Movies, animated or otherwise, art. The only entertainment that doesn't really classify as art are probably news broadcasts and reality TV because even though those are something of a work, be it what facts are presented by what source for news or what plays out in reality TV that's obviously scripted, for the most part they are visual representations of real life. Anything that takes true talent to create though, is an art.
  23. Well I just finished Megadimension Neptunia VII but man the game had some issues, including the non-true ending which is pointlessly sad. That said, I really do not like the road building system, traveling from place to place can be extremely annoying considering how far you have to go sometimes. It makes taking quests extremely annoying sometimes. Also, I think they made it entirely too difficult to get defensive items considering how much of the game had you splitting income 4 ways, only to take away the ability to invest at probably the worst time, which forces grinding. Never mind that the only way to really make enough money is to max out Zero Dimension towards the end and sell the parts to do everything else. The game does have a good story, and Uzume just might be one of my favorite characters in the series, but man the problems that be really hag at you. I still want to get the true ending, but I began to figure out how.
  24. And I simply want to know, who would watch it. It came from a dream I had last night that I remember quite well. The set up is this, two villagers who have been long time friends and are swiftly starting to fall in love, one day meet an odd roadblock in their budding relationship. An assassin came to royal family late in the night and killed a daughter and son of the King and Queen's. However, the royal family is in a tight spot with a nearby Kingdom, and it's expected that when they meet to try and prevent war between the two, that the entire family of both sides all meet as well as a show of peace. These two potential lovers are very similar in appearance to the dead Prince and Princess and are quickly found and are ordered by the King to take the place of the fallen royalty. The problems emerge almost immediately as they can't shake the feelings they have for one another, and yet, the eldest Prince and his sister are also falling for these two new residents in their house, while the rest of those who reside in the castle see them as inferior. What's more, multiple marriages are potentially going to be made between the two Kingdoms to try and stop the war, and their is still the issue with the assassin to be dealt with. Who sent him/her, what's the end goal, and what's to happen if the two potential lovers ever get caught while acting as brother and sister? If that premise sounds interesting, let me know. I haven't decided on nay names for anyone or even this idea should I write it, but I wanted to write it down before going to bed so I wouldn't forget any of it. The only titles I have in my mind thus far are "Royal Family Love" and "Love is thicker than Royalty" but if you like this idea and have any suggestions for it, I'd love to hear them.
  25. Looks like a Vocaloid to me. Anyways, probably not. Too many people would assume the worst if I hugged a kid.
