How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift

It astounds me, the amount of motivation one can get from watching others. Our habits, our everyday actions are partially influenced by what we allow ourselves to be around. That said, it seems like a good idea to watch something like an exercise based anime, given, you already watch anime, and enjoy spending your time watching shows anyway, what is there to lose?

What do you think? Do you get anything from watching this type of anime?

That aside, what are you thinking of this series so far?

I’m finding it pretty entertaining. Enough of the jokes work for me to keep it a decent comedy. And the fanservice isn’t overly ecchi most of the time. I could see some people complaining about it putting too much attention on body image for girls, but considering that the dudes look like they escaped from Attack on Titan I don’t think it’s too unequal 🤣

The surprise is how much time it spends trying to educate and promote healthy habits as well as providing so exercise tutorials that actually sound legit.

Yea, I watched a review on it from a personal trainer, and he said he was surprised by how good it was too. There are flaws, apparently the manga explains things better. But for the most part, there’s some good info there.

Plus the MC makes it clear she has no desire to get “ripped”, she just wants a nice, healthy body.

I'm really enjoying this series so far, and I will probably pick the manga up once the anime has finished airing.

For me, the series so far has changed my perspective on my health and I'm starting to think differently about my motivation about keeping fit.

Full disclosure, I have not seen anything about this anime and this thread is first I've heard of it.

But I keep looking at this GIF here and there's something concerning about that blood vessel in his bicep looking like it's going to pop. I know it does, realistically speaking, happen - but that will put you in the hospital. 😢 Please don't attempt more than you can handle!

Word.

To quote comedian Carlos Mencia, "How many guys leave the theater after watching a karate-based movie and are thinking, 'I wish somebody were to fuck with me right now."

Is it the same for girls?

No! 🤣 I could see my husband doing that though. I don’t get hype and think I’m strong after watching someone else kick butt. It’s more likely that I realize how much I don’t know

I thought this about how much you can lift in real life. Though I have 35 pound dumbbells.  The guys look like they are from Baki the grappler

Sakura’s motivation this week was having to run the anchor lap of the relay race at her school’s sports day (they called it field day at my school). It was a nice way to show that her exercise regiment is making a difference. Things wrap up with the girls having a test of endurance of sorts.

The fanservice seemed more prevalent this week, but still tame compared to truly ecchi series.

Silver haired Russian girl shows up & declares Sakura (Hibiki) to be her rival. Lots of stereotypical humor

Just found out this series is actually by the same mangaka as Kengan Ashura & is supposed to take place in the same world. Totally different style of show though :P .  Kure-sensei is the mother of one of Kengan Ashura’s characters

East Tokyo United (ETU) has been struggling in Japan's top soccer league for the past few years. It has taken everything they have just to avoid relegation. To make matters even worse, the team has lost five matches in a row, leading to abysmal team morale. Even the fans are beginning to abandon them, and rumors hint that the home ground municipality is going to withdraw their support. With countless coaches fired and poor financial choices in hiring players, it is a downward spiral for ETU.

The board of directors, under pressure from general manager Kousei Gotou, takes a gamble and hires a new coach—the slightly eccentric Takeshi Tatsumi. Though considered a great soccer player when he was younger, Tatsumi abandoned ETU years ago. However, since then, he has proven himself successful as the manager of one of England's lower division amateur teams.

Tatsumi's task won't be easy; ETU fans call him a traitor, and the team is pitted against others with larger budgets and better players. Yet even the underdog can take down a goliath, and Tatsumi claims he is an expert at giant killing.

Sena is like any other shy kid starting high school; he's just trying to survive. Constantly bullied, he's accustomed to running away.

Surviving high school is about to become a lot more difficult after Hiruma, captain of the school's American football team, witnesses Sena's incredible agility and speed during an escape from some bullies. Hiruma schemes to make Sena the running back of his school team, The Devil Bats, hoping that it will turn around the squad's fortunes from being the laughingstock of Japan's high school leagues, to title contender.

To protect his precious star player from rivaling recruiters, he enlists Sena as "team secretary," giving him a visored helmet and the nickname "Eyeshield 21" to hide his identity.

The Devilbats will look to make their way to the Christmas Bowl, an annual tournament attended by the best football teams in Japan, with "Eyeshield 21" leading the way. Will they be able to win the Christmas Bowl? Will Sena be able to transform from a timid, undersized freshman to an all-star player? Put on your pads and helmet to find out!

With a stray pitch that completely missed the batter, Eijun Sawamura loses his final middle school baseball game. Frustrated by this defeat, Eijun and his teammates vow to reach the national tournament once they are in high school. But everything changes when a scout unexpectedly invites him to Tokyo's prestigious Seidou High School after seeing the potential in his unusual pitching style. Encouraged by his teammates, Eijun accepts the offer, ready to improve his skills and play at a much more competitive level of baseball.

However, now surrounded by a large number of skilled players, Eijun struggles to find his place on the team. He declares that he will one day become the team's ace, but that's only if fellow first year Satoru Furuya doesn't take the title first, with his breakneck fastballs that earn him a coveted spot on the starting roster. With the addition of these talented new players to an already powerful lineup, the Seidou baseball team aims to become the best in Japan, facing off against a number of formidable foes that stand in their way.
