I found when I was at school that things got harder each year. Sleeping in class was a very dangerous thing to do, back in the 1960s and the cane was still very much in use  

Luckily no one hits you with a cane but these days you pay 100k a year tuition and if you don't pay attention it's your money wasted and you'll just fail lol For all my sleepiness in class though I still made A's for 4 years but I feel like this year will just be harder in general. 

Today was my 1st day back and 1st day at this new school. Luckily I already knew most people in my class from my work study courses so it wasn't TOO awkward. But I did hate the giant assembly that took 2 1/2 hours we had to do this morning at the in-person part. Some of my classes are in person and some of them are online. Luckily I won't have to go to campus every day and a lot of it will still be able to be done without leaving home.

After lunch we were supposed to go to the work studies part but there was some kind of traffic accident and the campus shuttle bus couldn't get to us or find us and the Professor had this great idea that hey we can just walk it's less than a mile away. No one was really prepared to walk close to a mile though in 95 degree heat with a heat advisory / air quality alert going on and I'm surprised some of us didn't just die on the way there  I certainly wanted to. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. 

I just kind of got over that fire thing I went through last week and now the building across the street is on fire. It's one of the super old hotels that is a historic building too :c Been watching a bunch of firemen over there and just black smoke take over the entire city skyline so I'm thinking it's a bad fire.

Paying 100K a year for tuition will definitely concentrate the mind on studying. Best wishes for the new term  I hope you settle in OK at the new school . Well done for those A's, I didn't get an A for anything.

There's been a couple of serious tower block fires in London recently, one of which has apparently left a lot of people homeless. I'm not sure how I'd cope if something like that happened to me.

I don't think I would be able to stay in a job I didn't like for any amount of money. I have to feel good about what I am doing since I have to do it every day for many hours. When you don't like what you are doing or those you work with, it becomes to bad for your mental health.

Today there seems to be another fire down the street. Another building on fire. I don't know what is going on with so many fires around us lately. I don't know if they are being caused by people or the weather.

Having a job you enjoy doing is a very big plus! I had the good fortune to have a job I liked doing, even if it wasn't the one I intended to do! I've known a few people who really hated their job and had to struggle to make the effort to go in each day.

Yessss, tuition is honestly at crazy highs right now over here. Thank you though, so far I haven't had a problem meeting people. Most of the people in my classes I already met luckily through work study courses over the Summer so it wasn't so awkward. 

Oh no that's awful  I always feel really bad every time I hear about fires because know what it feels like to be just casually enjoying your life at home and then the next second you are in a nightmare where everything you owned is just gone, possibly lost a pet or even someone you love in it, and have no idea where you are going to live now. I didn't cope very well for awhile and I'm still not sure I do very well with anything fire related.

Yeah there was 2 that I know of today right near here. One apparently turned out to be a house. We could see the smoke here and looked pretty awful. Now a few minutes ago found out the hardware store down the street a few blocks away is on fire. It does seem strange so many fires in the last few days does have me wondering if some of it is not heat related or possible arsonist since the news did say the arsonist team was investigating some of these places.

In this job I am making just a little more than I was at my old job but even if it had been less I would have taken the job because I knew I would be a lot happier there. 

This morning I managed to work out before it got too hot, I had to wake up a little earlier for it but I didn't mind it since I went to bed early last night. I had a headache a little when going to sleep last night but it was gone this morning. Past 10 AM it was already too hot to do anything else but stay inside next to the AC and was very glad I didn't have to go outside at all today.

Of the multiple fires that have been around here lately, I keep saying that the hardware store one, the house one, and the hotel/garage one they have arson teams investigating. They are all so close to each other so it seems suspicious too.

Three fires close together does sound a bit suspicious. Fire investigation teams are very good at finding out where a fire started and what caused it.

The recent fires here were our building - not arson just an idiot.
The hotel garage one block away - possible arson
Empty building by the hardware store 2 blocks away - possible arson
Empty church garage 1 block the other way - possible arson
House fire 1/2 mile away - possible arson
Hotel garage fire #2 - possible arson
All of the last 5 have happened within the last week in the surrounding immediate area. I think we have someone starting fires and police is investigating this.

That would make me worried about buying a house around there, wondering what if my building has that in it lol It just seems like common sense I guess to test if something is flammable in heat or something when covering a building in it that is directly exposed to sunlight and heat all day..

Yeah and in addition to this list @Zeref just posted, looked out my window a bit ago and ANOTHER place across the street was on fire.. this time it's one of the university campus buildings that no one would have been in right now.

Started to just film/take pictures of all this happening around me because it's so crazy I'm like, no one is going to believe this is all happening lol I don't like to jump to conclusions but it's more than a little weird at this point since it's all within these few block radius. 

In other news, I was in the water with some paddlefish today and one got too close to me and booped me on the ankle and cut me. I think I scared him more than he scared me when I screamed lol Nothing serious but I have a pretty good cut above my ankle area now. I also found out from my dad this week my step-mom had to visit the hospital for an infection that was almost sepsis. She had to go to the hospital again today because the pain wasn't lessening and they did some CT scans, X-rays, etc, because they were worried her cancer came back. No cancer thankfully but they found the infection is pretty much gone but something is wrong with her back and she needs to go see a spinal doctor.

It seems that the cladding is only inflammable in an actual fire when the temp passes a certain point.

Been so busy!  Originally Europa Clipper and the 2 Escapades were supposed to go up more than a month apart but delays now have them going within 3 days of each other.  (In October - Clipper on the 10th and the Escapade on the 13th)  So many last-minute reviews, tests, and planning meetings as we get closer to the date(s)!

After work went to Wendys with @Sakura and did some errands. Grocery shopping, post office run and dropped off a few things at a friends house. It has been so hot this last week going to the gym or any type of working out outside has not been possible. Tomorrow the temperature drops back down to manageable temps so hopefully I can go to the gym tomorrow.

Ohh I see, but still, I don't feel that should be on houses lol. & yes. There was another fire just now across the street in a different hotel parking lot. I took some pics of the fire trucks but it's dark and looks like just a bunch of flashing lights so I won't even bother to post that lol but it's just getting crazy cuz now another one... and thank you. My ankle is mostly okay + I heard from dad today my step-mom was feeling better

So I'm not very savvy on anything space related, but if I understand correctly they are sending things to investigate the ocean on Jupiter to see if there is life there? Do you think there is any chance they will find space sharks because that would be so cool  XD but really, that's quite interesting, I didn't know there was potential for life on one of Jupiter's moons. 

 

Today my afternoon work study course got canceled because of the heat, which I was actually glad for. I was mostly dreading having to go out on a boat in the heat. Even though a lot of it isn't so bad because we spend a lot of time in the water or there is a breeze when the boat is going, being out in the heat is just not something I handle very well. I also had Wendy's after classes so that was nice because it was hard getting back into being at school and I deserve a hamburger and cheese fries lol ~

Tomorrow I'm going out to a little Harry Potter lunch with some friends and dressing as Luna so that's going to be fun ^-^

I just hope whoever is setting these fires gets caught quickly, and until they're caught they stay away from your building.

Space sharks do sound cool. I think the whole Idea of life on other planets or moons is really interesting.

Not an ocean on the planet Jupiter itself, but on one of its moons, Europa.  Jupiter doesn't have an ocean of water like Earth's but Europa has an ocean that is over 150 kilometers deep and covers the whole moon!  It has more than twice as much water in it as all of Earth's oceans.  (The deepest part of the ocean here on Earth is the Challenger Deep at the bottom of the Mariana Trench "only" 11 kilometers below the surface.  Imagine an ocean over 10 times that deep.)  Europa's ocean is covered by an ice cap that is probably around 4 or 5 kilometers thick and frozen as hard as rock.  At the bottom of the ocean there are probably hydrothermal vents like at the bottom of Earth's oceans, maybe even with creatures living around them like they do here on Earth.  Probably not sharks though.. maybe something like crabs or shrimp.

Today I cleaned my kitchen, watered the plants, and now I'm drawing! Planning to go to the gym later today to work on my core and do some cardio. Other than that, school is starting soon so I gotta prep for that. This year I'm taking AP art and japanese, which is super exciting(─‿‿─)

Don't forget the second other one that happened at the car dealership down the street last night too lol. I hope that they can catch whoever is doing this soon.

Today I slept in. I was going to get up earlier and work out and go for a run but I stayed up all night talking to Serey until almost 5 AM so it was needed to go to bed instead. I will instead do that this evening time when the sun goes down a little. The weather is much better today compared to the rest of this week.

I think it would be cool to have space crabs O: I love crabs and I ended up doing a lot of work with crabs for some reason in the beginning of my career and think they are the neatest lil dudes now. I could totally see space crabs being on other planets + shrimp too because they are pretty resilient lil forms that seem exactly like something you would find in some space ocean on another planet lol Some of the things in the Mariana Trench honestly look like they belong in space too such as goblin sharks, gulper eels, and sea pigs.

Today I went out with some friends from class & we decided to dress up like characters from different Harry Potter houses lol so anyways Ravenclaw is my favorite house/Luna is my fave character so I decided to dress up like her and rep Ravenclaw since I have a Luna wig and outfit anyways from cosplaying with it once before. 
This was the outfit that I kind of based my look on:

I also had the Luna Lovegood wig I wore. I ended up wearing a Harry Potter hat over my wig to kind of keep it in place because I've never been 100% good at securing those and I didn't want my hair blowing off and tumbling down the street LOL

Saturday was a good day because the only one of my friends who likes anime came round for the day and we binge-watched a whole 12 episode series.

This morning I was able to workout and go for a run earlier because today isn't as hot as it has been. With this intense heat we have had going outside for a run hasn't been possible with the heat and air quality alert. Even working out indoors in the AC still felt too hot so I haven't been able to this week very much. 

Other than this I have just been playing games this afternoon.

Today I just played Neo, did the plot on there, talked on Disc awhile to friends, bothered Pessi, took a nap, played some OSRS, took another nap lol I was going to order Chick Fil A but then realized they were closed on Sunday so that didn't happen  I'm hoping they are open tomorrow though because I just found out their Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken sammichs are back and I am in love with those things @.@

i was supposed to go work but got sick. normally i would be happy since i could play games but i felt exhausted all day and slept at least 4 hours more after diner. on top of that i got bad news from my friend. i just hope it gets easier soon. I'll try to play little busters tommorow

Worked out this morning. Great weather for it so even managed to work out in the roof garden part of the gym area. Worked for a couple of hours but didn't have a lot of things to do. Went to lunch with @Sakura to Chick Fil A because she kept wanting some pimento chicken sandwich lol but I tried it and see why she did it, those are really, really good.
