Welcome 😁
since you enjoyed Reincarnated as a Slime I recommend checking out Tsukimichi (the MC isn’t reincarnated as a monster, but he does become the leader of a village of monsters after being shunned by other humans)

some other recommendations based on genres you expressed an interest in

romance: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl-senpai

slice of life: Azumanga Daioh • School Rumble • Yuru (Laidback) Camp

Welcome aboard the Forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.

A few other series you might like:

Slice of Life/Drama: A Place Further Than the Universe.

Sci-fi/Drama: Charlotte.

Slice of Life/Detective: Hyouka.

for me, this is my first foray into the world of anime so it's all new for me

In which case let me add to my earlier posting. Welcome to the wonderful world of anime, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of watching anime as I do.

I'm enjoying it immensely. I'm struggling a little bit with subtitles so i'm easing myself into them and watching more shows that are dubbed but i'm sure it will start to feel more natural

Subtitles take a bit of getting used to, when I started watching anime it was only available dubbed but over time I came to appreciate the original voice cast and now I only watch subtitled anime.

Yes, you'll be used to it soon enough. Watching anime with sub is the way to experience the media form to the fullest (if you don't speak Japanese), because the Japanese voice acting (which is an art in itself) will be lost with English dub.

I started watching season anime from quite young age (not sure if that's a good thing), so I can't even remember if I struggled with sub or not. But good luck on your journey!

And I'm also a new member so let's get along :)
