emily2811
Hi everyone, I am someone who doesn't watch anime often because I am quite busy with my work. When I have free time, I will watch some anime to entertain and relax my mind. But for some reason, the anime websites I watch often cannot be found after a while. Can anyone suggest me some websites to watch anime for free?
Colu
Those websites come and go like that because they generally don’t have the licensing/streaming rights

Legal streaming sites listed by how often I use them Crunchyroll (subscription) Netflix (subscription) Hi Dive (subscription) Hulu (subscription) Youtube (some videos may be unlicensed, but others are. Currently watching Cinderella Gray on Remow Channel & previously Tasokare Hotel & Blue Archive) free with ads Adult Swim app (currently watching subtitled Lazarus, but a month behind) free with ads Tubi (older/obscure titles) free with ads Retro Crush (older/obscure titles) free with ads I watched a couple series on Amazon/Prime Video in the past, but not many.
Sakura
You can watch it on Netflix or Hulu with a subscription which might be better if you don't watch it very often. Since there are other things to watch on there besides anime the subscription might be worth it. Pretty much every free place is gonna be a pirating place and I don't really know any of them since I primarily use Crunchyroll and Hulu myself.
neverletmego
I've been using Plex lately. They have a channel called ANIME x HI-DIVE and I've been watching that today.

Eris
You can Google the free sites and they'll pop up. They get deleted a lot. Most people use Crunchyroll for anime.

It's now showing something called Run With the Wind. I seem to like anime that focuses a lot more time on the minutae of life more than the kind that insists on having a plot that has the main protagonist thinking, "Oh, we must fight this bad guy at all costs even if it doesn't make sense!" lol (I like that kind of anime, too; just not as much.) Edited May 15, 2025 by neverletmego I hope that explains things. lol
Ohayotaku
I enjoyed K-on! as well, haven’t seen Run With the Wind. 3 hours ago, neverletmego said: I seem to like anime that focuses a lot more time on the minutae of life more than the kind that insists on having a plot Yeah, that’s the Slice of Life genre, though it can get divided even further into CGDCT (cute girls doing cute things), Iyashikei (healing/calming), etc. For every serious or complex series I watch, I need something lighter and/or funnier to help me relax/destress I was kind of curious when you mentioned some sort of Hi-Dive alternative since I try to keep up with licensed streaming sites to weigh my options. Looks like the one you mentioned follows a broadcast style format where predetermined series show at a specific time like Toonami or I seem to remember Pluto having a similar anime channel back in the day. I’ve been relying on streaming so much these past couple years it can be hard to remember that all tv used to be like that Anyway, thanks for the response & info Edited May 15, 2025 by Ohayotaku

Same using Crunchyroll is just about the easiest and most legit way to get the best anime. If you absolutely can't afford it like Eris mentioned you can just google some sites. I don't want to mention the names of because I'm not sure if that's against the rules here or not. I will just say there is a certain site that starts with the letter "L" and ends with "movie" that has a lot of shows some animes you can watch. And yes, I really like the channel, too. It does broadcast series in a binge watch sort of manner so I think that helps, too. I haven't gotten the Hi-Dive streaming service though.
