Myouya
Hello everyone! I come with an unfortunate announcement, the sustainment of Anime Forums is uncertain currently, due to an increase in the pricing of the platform. The latest date of closure for the forums would be the 1st of May 2026, There are two ways the owner of the website is considering to go about this: 1- Go back into a simpler forum engine that's more affordable. This would entail giving up on features like blogs and clubs, and essentially becoming and old school style forum. Fully functional, but not as modern 2- Embrace obliteration. If going back to an older model isn't attractive to the majority of users, there is no point in maintaining it either, so it would be a full goodbye, but maybe we can settle with a Discord server or something alike I would like to hear everyone's opinion so we can decide which path to go from here. Either way, thank you to everyone who has participated and brought life to Anime Forums!
Sakura
It would be fine without blogs and clubs, they aren't used that much anymore anyway. If it kept it around rather than deleted it, that would be nice. I'd hate to see it all just disappear. Edited March 9 by Sakura 2

I agree with this, the blogs and clubs aren't used much these days so if doing away with them would keep the forum around that would be good, it would be a shame for it all the disappear.
efaardvark
Of the two I would vote for option 1 as well.
zeriiiclaire
Maybe going back to Xenforo is I guess cheaper plus the owner have good reputation there! Or if stay here maybe going back to most basic option like you can only upload a KB pfp and only pfp signature and banner will remain! In short downgrading to most basic is just fine not a total wipe out! This is only my opinion. All things will always depends on the owner. We'll respect any decision he/she do.
Nico Robin Fan 95
Option 1 would be the best, because i rather have a fully functional old school forum, without any blogs or clubs, than seeing it all disappear. I don't use Discord anymore by the way, and i wouldn't like to create a new Discord account again just to join a Animeforums server. So yeah, option 1 is good and i would be totally cool with that as well. Like Sakura and Animedragon already said, the blogs and clubs aren't used that much anyway these days, and i took too much time with my own blog to post new content there, but i can live without one and it's fine. As long as Animeforums can still exist, i'm very happy with a old school forum which has no features like those two. Uncrowned Guard
Oh no! I joined, and the forum died! For what my vote is worth, I'd vote for option 1. On a side note, since this is on Invsion, have they considered supporter subscriptions? I know I'm new here, but the member base here is quite fantastic and positive towards the community.

It can always go back to that. 1
KaiyaSaysHaiya
I also agree with option one. As others have already said, I'd much rather switch to a simpler format than have everything disappear altogether. Features like blogs and clubs aren't used much anyway. I'm also not sure how switching to another place such as discord would play out. I personally think that it would make navigation and accessibility more difficult. At the end of the day, I just hope that we can keep this community one way or another ^^
Forlorn
I'd love if we could keep animeforums going in a simpler forum layout. Like @Sakura and everyone else here, I'd hate to see it just get deleted. I vote for option 1.
ReverzerO
2nd option. Well explained and understandable this is costing with too much inactive users including myself. Not being dramatic or emotional, just because am so busy in real life. If users are active and competitive, I'll go the same way either,, finding and giving time for the site altho some people hated me. This is a forum in the first place, not a dating site. Zariel
It would be cool to keep it if possible since a lot of people have memories here. Not sure what this place as a dating site has anything to do with anything tho since the only ppl that date here are Sakura and I, who are getting married in real life lmao but uh actual topic, getting rid of clubs and blogs doesn't matter that much since no one really uses them anyway.
