  2. Actually, tbh, a darker pokemon show seems like it would make a lot of sense. The cheerful nature of the original show and the games always kinda threw me off. I mean, you have a world built entirely around the concept of people using animals in street fighting and combat arenas. Yet, somehow, the place is all vibrant and cheerful and everyone is good natured. Doesn't actually make a lot of sense to me. I agree with your concept. Hardcore pokemon should be a thing. :0

  3. i would make a darker pokemon show. something would happen that the world isnt in peace anymore and ppl are fighting to live not just for badges. maybe mewtwo became all strong and destroyed and rebuilt the world in his image, and a small group of trainers have to find him and take him down before he kills every last human there is. always wanted something like that. if your pokemon faints he dies and there is no bring him back.

  6. Greetings to all of you here at animeforums.net. My name is Brian Sapinski, coming to you from New Jersey where I am a high school math teacher, classic gamer, lifelong game show fan, 3rd degree Tae Kwon Do black belt and part time anime watcher & convention game show host. I've been fascinated by anime ever since I was brought into the convention world by a former student 10 years ago, and I've been hosting game shows on the convention scene in the NY/NJ area for the last 9, first as part of Sonic Whammy Enterprises (my own entity) and now as part of Lost Silver Productions with a brand new team since 2015. I'm hoping in being here to introduce you all to our product, but all the same, I want to find out more things about anime from what people are talking about, and to have discussions with all of you about your biggest burning questions and debates, both here and on our YouTube podcast series. And on the side of all that, I really do just want to talk. I enjoy meeting new people, even if it's only in this text form, and to hear your stories of any kind is always interesting. So I hope that I will get the chance to talk and have fun with a lot of you, and that I hope a lot of you will come along for the ride with us on YouTube and on the convention scene as we look to bring you some great entertainment. Thanks for having me here. Sincerely, Brian Sapinski Executive Producer/Host, Lost Silver Productions

  7. Hi everyone, Recently I started watching anime, (specifically AoT) and I've been getting seriously addicted haha. So far I've only seen aot and orange, which I both really enjoyed watching. Skipping to the point, I'm in need of new anime to watch. I don't really know what type of anime I prefer yet, but action and/or romance have been good for me so far. I want to stay away from the longer and older series like one piece or naruto, and I want a good storyline. Help would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea how I can find really good anime by myself. P.S. I love getting attached to characters and getting "feels" for them. (Haha) Cheers, Hootr.

  9. So I'm not too familiar with professional animators, writers, etc, but if/when I make an anime, I want it to be very abstract and creative. One of the things I love about anime is escaping reality, so I would definitely create a world with its own laws and probably magic. It would also most likely be in a medieval setting. OOOORRRR I would make a Pokemon reboot similar to the B2W2 trailer. It would be a much mature version with an in depth plot, character deaths, and better romance.

  10. I feel like in general anime should take things farther than they do. One of the things I like about anime is how it can go beyond what live action can do in storytelling and physical limitations

  13. Yes, I was quiet surprised to find another Anime enthusiast since I haven't found a single one since we got here ... She was very nice and we did hit it off quiet well, seeing as we both loved the same shows and characters so much.

  14. There is one around here right now, I don't know her name but she came around yesterday and talked to use while we were attending a BBQ outside; She is a huge Attack on titan, deathnote and black butler fan, she has watched a lot more anime from what I heard as well, she and @ItsSammy hit it off right away; It was really cool to find someone so into anime here.

  16. I love this series to death! It's brutally satisfying and just quite the fun romp. It's a tad bit on the repetitious side however... I have played all except 3 I think??? Hyped for the latest ofc! The scene with the 'world serpent' was just like, WOW! If you also want to see kratos in a kind of spin off of sorts. He is featured as a playable character in Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny for the playstaion portable, years back!

  17. I completely agree. Right now I am working on a short anime script and I have to treat the charcters as if I was talking to my best friend, parents, gf and all that. There's a psychological factor that goes unit how the character thinks and reacts, what makes them unique..figure out all that and you'll have a great stroy. Btw the name of my script is called Yumi Visit Tokyo. Keep imagining and don't stop.

  19. Had to think about it, but I would have to say Chobits for its predictable ending....but to be fair, it ended up the same in the manga, so I would have to say the same for its manga counterpart. I was hoping that the anime would go off on a tangent and choose a different ending.

  21. Suffocation (From the song, The warmth within the dark) To go beyond what's real To question your existence This is how you'll find The answers you seek Everything you were taught To believe in this life, was a lie It's all to keep you from knowing The terrifying truth is that This life is only the passage to death

  25. Honestly, in terms of having really high expectations only to be utterly disappointed, Cowboy Bebop might be my #1. I get it, the show is cool, it has jazz, it's in space. So what? I really disliked the way the anime is structured. First it's episodic, then suddenly they introduce the main villain, then it gets back to being episodic and finally they squeeze a half-assed story into the last few episodes. Also, almost every episode seems to follow the same formula, and there's hardly any connection between them. The show makes it really hard to care.

  26. Something along the likes of a crossover between date a live and danganronpa. And the characters would all have offspring, that grow up with them during the series. It would be set in the past like (early victorian era) and feature classical music as the soundtrack with a Japanese dub of some fame and merit.

  27. I'm not sure this needs a spoiler but I'll do it anyway - [spoiler=Puella Magi Madoka Magica]Mami's death was probably the first to hit home with me - when it came to magical girl anime especially I had come to expect for the most part light hearted and fun where the main characters could make it out of any sticky situation because magic and friendship! Even though I was told to expect something dark when I had this anime recommended to me, I certainly didn't think dark to the point of death. It was a shock to me to see her actually die, and right after a fantastical battle scene no less. In any other show she would've had the fight in the bag.

  28. I'd make something psychological. It begins off sweet and normal, then takes a hard turn to dark and messed up.

  29. I am currently playing Persona 5 and i think the game is great. The story might be weird in comparable with Persona 4, but the city is very big to explore and making me stuck with it.

  30. I have actually spent a decent amount of time throughout the last few months coming up with a potential anime I would make. After viewing a lot of anime, I think it would only be natural to have thoughts of the sort. Originally, I had only thought about writing the story/script for the anime, and left myself to thinking about actually producing it later on. This thread really prompted me to think about my envisioned story as an actual anime more. So thanks Cy~, you really know how to pick the right questions to ask! This is the first time I am writing my ideas down, so it would be easier for me in bullet points. Story -- Around 39 episodes long. One season, with no continuation. -- The genres it will fit in will be somewhere in between Slice Of Life, Drama and Romance -- Core themes would be about friendship, love and family. -- Revolves around an ensemble cast of about 5-8 teenagers in high school. -- There will be love triangles, unrequited love etc. but the people the main cast of characters fall for needn't be in the main cast itself. Characters are allowed to find love outside their main circle of friends. Also, not everybody will want to/ be in love. -- Will be rated R, since I will want to include a bit of sex and mild nudity. -- It will start off slowly with a primarily Slice Of Life feel to it. So the characters, and the dynamic between them can be developed before jumping into the meat of the story entirely. This will take around 12 episodes at least. -- The middle episodes of 12 - 27 or so will be individual character(s) arcs as we follow them for around 2-4 episodes each and experience their individual thoughts/ perspectives of school, friends, family... The period we experience with different characters will be in chronological order but can overlap. Meaning that the audience can view the same event twice through many different perspectives. The goal of doing this is to give the viewer a more personal connection to the characters and show them the fact that the same issue can be looked at may different ways. (This also helps sell character merchandise ) -- The final 12 or so episodes will be taking advantage of all of the character development done in prior ones. Characters will go through ideological conflicts about morals, their future, love etc. to heighten the drama. This will be effective because the viewer will know where each and every character is coming from and empathize that way. There is not anyone that is definitively right or wrong. The conflicts will resolve towards the end of the series... somehow or another. (I haven't thought much about the ending yet, so please bear with me.) Characters (It won't be ultra-specific since I haven't thought about this to great length before.) -- The main pairing would either be a straight one or a yuri one. I honestly can't decide, although I am slightly leaning towards yuri - due to the fact that there aren't many of those in anime. Also, I find yuri really appealing and attractive as a male viewer. This relationship would be developed throughout the course of the first 24 episodes, and they would be a pair by the final arc. -- If the main pairing is not a yuri one, there will still definitely be one among the main cast. This relationship will be developed by episode 24, and then be allowed to run its course for the rest of the series. -- The characters will be diverse, but not too diverse. I want it to be actually believable that a group of people like this IRL would be friends. So they need to have a reason to be friends with the rest of the main cast. -- They will be intelligent and self-aware, to an extent. I really dislike it when characters are plain dumb in anime, since it's hardly believable that those kinds of people really exist. And I do feel that characters need to be like real people in primarily Slice Of Life and Drama anime. So these characters may not understand their feelings/ thoughts at first, but they will want to find out. -- They need to have backbone. By this, I mean they wouldn't be completely hopeless without the others around. They need to be wholesome people on their own. (That's also another reason for the individual character arcs. -- The characters will also be mature. I think that is needed for a more psychological/ dramatic Slice Of Life anime like this one. Plus, high-schoolers in Japan are also kind of considered adults. -- There will be a girl that does cute stuff. That's needed. But not because she's dumb or anything. Rather, she likes doing it, or wants to appear that way to the people around her. Art -- Two words. Studio Shaft. -- I want every shot to be interesting (The Monogatari Series). Plus, I like my visual metaphors (The ef Series). -- I also really like their willingness to change things in the OP and ED to suit the state of the show better. Music -- Composed by Satoru Kousaki as he has the ability to craft deeply emotional and moving classical pieces and more poppy and fun counterparts to suit the show. -- Will avoid using overly high-pitched and squeaky J-Pop for the OP and EDs. OPs and EDs -- One for the first 12-ish episodes. -- One for each character arc in the mid-section of the series that fully captures the characters in a short few minutes. -- One for the last arc. -- They will also evolve and change depending on the state of the show. --- That's the rough idea for now. I may develop it more in the future and eventually put it into actual words. I may not even go through with this concept at all. But right now, if I were to make an anime - it would be this one.

  31. I'd want to make a very adult horror anime. Not sure if I'd want a continuous story or a different story for each episode. I think I'd rather do a collection of stories instead of just one continuous story. Could go for the middle ground and make each story around three episodes each
