  1. Thank you, I thought that was a nice touch. Thank you. Thank you. I spent a lot of time on that background and getting it to look how I wanted it. Thank you so much. Praise from the Queen of the GFXers is praise indeed. I'm pleased that you find that my GFX skill is improving.
  2. Feeling your age at 56? You're still young (but then almost everyone on here is young from my point of view ) Anyway I think you can "feel your age" at any age. I had a busy day yesterday so I'm feeling a bit tired this morning. Don't remind me about ridiculous fuel bills, fortunately they're not as high as they were a year or so back, but they're still quite high, and like so many other people I didn't get my winter fuel payment this year . I totally agree about the Christmas vibe being a bit lacking these days. I've no objection to the UK being a multi faith country and believe people should be free to follow whatever faith they like, or none at all. But sometimes it seems that you can celebrate any religious festival you like as long as it's not a Christian one. (rant over, I don't want to start on about religion or politics here) HW will tire you out faster than anything. 2 hours HW = 4 hours GFXing.
  3. Amazon delivery drivers are like that, they don't knock and they don't leave a sticker, they just throw the package at the doorstep and drive away. If you live on a road with a lot of passing pedestrians the packages often get stolen
  4. I found some nice renders of clocks and thought they'd work well with Homura, the girl from Madoka Magica who goes back in time a lot.
  5. This afternoon was the annual Christmas event in the High Street. They closed the road all day and set up stalls and rides for the children and the event ended with the switching on of the High Street Christmas lights it was good fun and thankfully it stayed dry.
  6. I have an update on this. It was delivered to my neighbour, I'm not sure why they did that because I was in all day and listening for the doorbell, I suspect that they just tapped on the glass door instead of ringing the bell, couriers seem to suffer from a doorbell phobia. So now have my cards and I'm happy again .
  7. Welcome aboard the Forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  8. Train, I really like trains and often travel on them just for the ride. What's your favourite TV show?
  9. This is the wrong topic for that song, the number of bottles on the wall is supposed to go down, not up Anyway............. 222 bottles of sake on the wall...
  10. Today started cold wet and miserable, but it's turned out quite nice now there's a clear blue sky with very few clouds and some bright sunshine, it's still a bit chilly but that's only to be expected in December.
  11. Ah, the old pass the buck merry go round.
  12. The UK Ivory Act makes it illegal to trade in ivory and has been extended to include elephants, hippos, walruses, narwhals, sperm whales, and orcas.
  13. I've a nasty feeling that that's what's going to happen to me. I've raised the matter with the printers and complained to the courier company, so I'll wait to see what the responses are.
  14. I''m rather annoyed at the moment! I designed my own Christmas cards and sent the artwork to a commercial printers. This afternoon I received an email to say that they had been delivered, but they haven't --- well they might have been but not to me!
  15. -4C sounds seriously cold. It's currently 11C here which is an improvement over the past few days, it looks a bit dull and overcast outside but then again it's 7:54am and the Sun only woke up about 10 mins ago. When you go out to play in the snow are you going to make a snowman, or perhaps a snow Borutu
  16. That must have been really annoying! I've found that every so often Photoshop will do strange things. This evening I was working on a magazine header and I'd added some text and decided that I wanted to make it a big larger, but PS wouldn't let me access that text layer, in the end I replaced the old text layer with a new one and PS happily let me alter that one.
  17. I don't think that the background looks messed up it looks fine to me.
