Born and raised in California. Still here for college. Weather is finally cooling down a bit, which is nice.

You make a great point. If the viewer is an anime-only and hasn't read the manga, the anime adaptation is probably okay for the most part. It's just that the moment you start reading the manga, the anime adaptation's flaws and issues become very apparent in comparison. Although it is neat to see your favorite characters from the series animated and voiced.

Does this mean that you prefer Eroge over Galge for the most part then?

The anime for Tokyo Ghoul is a complete joke in comparison to the manga, like LOL. They skip a whole bunch of character developments and sub plots that occur between the missed interactions. The 2nd season for Tokyo Ghoul: RE is going to be a massive train wreck, trying to fit the rest of the 122 chapters left that are not adapted into a 12 or even 24 episode cour season is hilarious to think about. There's too much to fit in such a few number of episodes. But anyway, read the manga if you're interested in Tokyo Ghoul, it's quite the ride.

Literally as long as it's not NTR I'm open to anything. I'm also not into otome or same-sex VNs. If it's actually funny or has an interesting premise or story, that's a huge plus for me.

I'm either playing on my Switch, either MK8 or Splatoon 2 online, or I'm playing R6: Siege on my PC. I also play RPGs like the Witcher 3. Currently playing bits and pieces of Yakuza 0. Not much of a console gamer anymore, but I do anticipate the occasional PlayStation exclusive like the upcoming Spider-Man game.

Depends on how I'm feeling to be honest. I'm fine with either. If I just wanna focus on the animation and not have to worry about the subtitles, Ima go dub. If my friends are over we'll probably watch it dubbed if it's available. Although, I do watch anime subbed most of the time. I get the issues with some dubs just being awful, which is true, but most are pretty decent. And some are even better than subbed imo (Looking at the dandy show known as Space Dandy.) But yeah, just depends on how I'm feeling at the moment.

Hrmm, I can think of a few you might enjoy. If you're okay with an older show and art style, Yu Yu Hakusho might be up your alley. It's a shounen If you're looking for a show that's gory and is just relentless kinda similar to Hellsing, give Black Lagoon a try. It's about a mercenary group and it's a pretty merciless show If you like the psychological aspect of Death Note and want something that's intense and thrilling, try watching Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor. (It's about gambling, but that doesn't mean our protag necessarily wins just because of plot armor! Also the art style takes some getting used to, but the show is worth it imo) Gundam 00 is pretty good if you're interested in another Gundam series. Have fun if you give any of the shows a go!

I honestly think that Humanity has Declined or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita has a great ost. It's also not the type of ost where every soundtrack is something to listen to on it's own. (Although there are a few standout tracks that are damn good even by themselves) However, the show's ost works to completely enhance the show itself and immerse the viewer even further into the show's wacky antics. I don't think the show would be as good as it is without the soundtrack it has supporting it. If you guys wanna watch a comedy that's about the last remaining humans and tons of weird but entertaining faeries, this is the anime to watch. It's quite good. Here's a link to a channel that uploaded a good amount of the ost: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPKVoJDpjBtTCTT7VdzYxDw A few of my favorites tracks: Azemichi Danran Fushigi na Jikan Meikyuu Kokoro ga Kaeru Basho *Zanshou* Another show I can think of with an absolutely phenomenal ost is Girl's Last Tour. Although it might be a bit more popular than what qualifies as a hidden gem. Fantastic show.

Played a bit of R6: Siege earlier on my PC, I'll probably play some more of it later today since that's pretty much what I play most of the time. Maybe some Yakuza 0 potentially as well.

do you finish all route's, or part of it ? - ~VN topics~
Decimo replied to XII360's topic in Visual Novels's Topics
I pretty much agree with what Ryuji said. I'll try and do everything I can to finish all the routes. There have been cases where I can't stand the characters so I never finished every route, but 90% of the time, I wanna see the differences between all the routes. All the Grisaia girls are pretty good, I would give Sachi's route another go if you have the time. -
It was an interesting read for me. I'm not into horror, but Doki Doki wasn't too harsh on me lol.

I think in some cases this is absolutely true. However, sometimes pacing becomes an absolute issue for adaptations. Especially when they draw things out to fit that TV schedule and the overall quality of the adaptation takes a hit because of it. I guess an example of where this is quite prominent would be One Piece, although that's what I've been told by fans since I don't watch or read the series myself.

Yo, again, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

What is everyone currently watching? What are your thoughts!?
Decimo replied to bootsies's topic in Anime Discussion
I'm watching Gintama as of now. About to hit the 100th episode mark. I'm really enjoying it although some episodes are hit and miss. Luckily, the majority of them have been very entertaining. -
LUNATICSMagMarriageical ~ Lunatics ~ (MOONSTONE)
Decimo replied to XII360's topic in Visual Novels's Topics
Hrmm, reminds me of Monster Girl Quest due to the heroines, but wayyyy toned down. Which is a good thing imo because that VN was not pretty most of the time. -
I literally just want the rest of the fandisks to be translated for Majikoi. We have up to A-2, but still need A-3 through A-5, and A Plus. I think it's cool that JAST picked it up, but there hasn't been anything released as of yet, and the fan translation of A-2 was released almost 2 years ago. I'm sure there are others I'm missing, but waiting sucks ya know?

I just realized I skipped this so I'll do this now lol Name: Decimo Age: 19 Favorite VN: The Majikoi series and I guess if I had to pick which one specifically then probably Majikoi S Random Fact: I read VNs and LNs more than I actually watch anime as well (I actually own a kindle since digital copies are like half the price of physical copies!!!) How did I get into them: My friend was using teamviewer to help me out with some issues and decided to download a few VNs and told me to play them. (I actually played Danganronpa and S;G before this, but this was before I saw Visual Novels as their own thing instead of just games.) I've already been conversing on the other threads, but nice to meet you guys. Also heyo Archie, I noticed you joined recently too.

Steins;Gate is a steal for $12. I would get S;G 0, but I already caved in and bought it for the ps4 during the initial release a year or two back. I'll look into the other series you listed as well.

Nice, glad to see light novels getting some visibility. I actually like isekai stuff so I'll keep this in mind when I'm looking for another series to read. Have you tried giving The Faraway Paladin a read? It's much different in tone from the looks of this one, but it's one of the better isekai novels out there.

Light Novels are my go to between the three mediums. If I have to pick between the two originally stated, then probably manga. I like reading in general so there's the reason for my preference. After watching an anime adaptation then reading the original source material afterwards, I usually discover that they usually skip out on details and events (which I understand due to pacing and time constraints) and that kinda bums me out. An example at this point of time would be the Grand Blue anime. As a manga reader I think it's really lacking in comparison to the manga. The jokes don't hit as hard since they miss the set up and timing (which is crucial) and sometimes are just completely skipped over which sucks. Although from what I've seen from Anime-Only people, they seem to be really enjoying it which is a good thing. As much as I love Mushoku Tensei, I'm not sure how I'd feel if they ever did an anime adaptation. The manga is already missing a lot of details from the Light Novel. And just thinking about Vagabond as an anime makes me think it isn't possible.
-
Hrmm, it's been over 6 years and still nothing. I wouldn't get your hopes, but who knows? I wasn't really a fan so it's kinda whatever to me, but it being an anime original over an adaptation of some sort doesn't help it since it's not from some other source material.
-
Thanks for the welcome! Hrmm, I've played a decent amount of them and even mentioned some in the visual novel club area. Some of my favorite series include Majikoi (still waiting for A-3!!!!), Steins;Gate (although S;G 0 was a step down especially in the translation), Grisaia, and Danganronpa.
