  1. Cold as opposed to hot. Sweetness and flavoring depends on what I'm having with it and my mood. Usually I like it somewhat (but not overly) sweet, but if I'm eating something that's already sweet with it, sometimes I'll drink it with no sweetener or sugar whatsoever. I also like Tradewinds Raspberry & Snapple Peach, especially when it's hot oustide
  2. My general preference is for subtitled over dubbed. The only dubbed anime I'm watching at present is Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers) 2202. I primarily started listening to it dubbed through Funi's site because I wanted to show as much support as possible for their decision to rescue it and do right by it after Voyager botched the previous release (Now I just wish Funi would do a remaster of the original series or at least the movies). I actually think the dub is quite good, but there may be some nostalgia as well since the Americanized original series was my gateway to anime. Most dubs aren't what I would actually call "bad", but the Japanese voice actors usually seem to put more emotion into their performances IMO. I haven't had time to try Shield Hero's dub and probably won't any time soon. As far as the OP, yeah it's really good. Over on CR's forums a bunch of members have our own awards we nominate series for each season in different categoris & Shield Hero is getting my vote for best OP. I've noticed that a lot of OP & ED incorporate English lyrics. I think they mainly do it because they think it makes it sound cooler , though sometimes they sound kinda awkward
  3. Not really. While it does incorporate religious symbolism and psychological jargon, personally I thought it was more interested in being controversial/shocking than insightful/deep. Another series for myself: I've never been able to finish a single series from the Gundam franchise. Iron Blooded Orphans was probably the one I came closest to (almost finished the first season). Whatever it is about these series that appeal to it's fans, it just doesn't click with me.
  4. The season is listed as having 25 episodes. I'm not sure if there will be a week break between cour or not.
  5. As far as NGE, I have seen it including End of Evangelion and thought it was alright, but not really my type of series. I was kind of interested in thr remake movies, but it’s been so long since the last one, I’m starting to think it’s just a waste of time. As far as SAO, more than anything I see comments on how over rated people think it is  I wound up dropping it during Alicization, but honestly I didn’t think the previous seasons were that great either.
  6. The one that immediately comes to mind for me is Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I started watching, but only got to about episode 3, before I lost interest. I do intend to watch in full someday. Another would be Fate/Stay Night. I rhink I made it to around episode 6 on that one. I do have a question: Is Unlimited Bladeworks essentially the same as the original series & would I miss anything by skipping the original and starting with UBW?
  7. Alot of them were just 12 for the season that’s wrapping up. And I remember some recents that were just 10 (Recovery of an MMO Junkie and both seasons of Konosuba). While the shorter seasons are ok for SoL and comedies, anything with a larger story really needs at least 25 or so to not feel rushed IMO.
  8. Man, I hope this makes it way to America

  9. They actually do seem to go a bit overboard making a lot of the characters act like total ass hats, but "Haters gonna hate, yo"
  10. You may want to check out Noir & Madlax. Gun Gale Online too. And of course girls with tanks (Girls und Panzer)
  11. Yet the first thing to come to my mind is the Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon series
  12. Sorcerer Hunters? Spice & Wolf? Here's mine: A secret organization tries to kill a guy for putting bananas in a microwave
  13. I just finished the 3 episode OVA for Hi Score Girl. The note it ended one was much more satisfying than the main series. Actually looking forward to season 2 more now..

    Pets

Dogs have always been a big part of my life, especially growing up. Back on the farm it wasn't unusual to have 4 of them at a time. While they were all family dogs, each one seemed to bond with a particular "hooman" in the family. Some were rescue dogs, but a lot of them were just strays that no one claimed. Currently I only have the one yellow lab. She just turned 12 recently and unfortunately has started having health problems. Primarily a lack of mobility.
  15. I'm Rooster apparently (had to look it up). Unfortunatley(?) the personality description sounds pretty much like my polar opposite
  16. I'd like to get back into One Piece someday too (I previously left off somewhere during the Skypiea arc). Unfortunately those mega series are pretty intimidating ( I generally prefer something more finite :P)
  17. I actually do have a desire to go back & rewatch some of the titles from when I was first really getting into anime to see if my impression of them has change over time & as my experience became more diverse. Same with titles where I'd previously only seen the dubbed version. Unfortunately my current obsession is currently airing series. I largely blame this on the fact that I've only recently (a couple years) entered the wonderful world of streaming content (previously I'd lived in a rural area where the internet connection made streaming unusable). Being able to view series more or less as they air is something new to me, and even though I'm sure the novelty will wear off eventually, I have a rather substantial backlog/bucket list of older titles I've never seen or completed. It's truly wonderful how diverse anime can be, but also frustrating that there is only so much time that can be devoted to it. If the day ever comes that I retire I have a couple hundred titles on disc I can watch at my leisure (started buying them back in the late 90's early 2000's after all  Monster is actually one of those bucket list titles for me. I started watching/recording it when it was on cable (Syfy or Chiller) and got pretty far into it (somewhere around the Magnificent Steiner part). But then there was a power outage one week and I missed an episode. Happened a couple other times due to technical difficulties, so I decided I would just wait until they started re-airing episodes, but they wound up cancelling it. So I never got to finish
  18. I believe that Mine manipulated him at first , but it's become a matter of personal pride now and he probably won't be satisfied now until he get's some sort of "revenge". Even if he realized he's being used, admitting to it is harder for him than just continuing to believe the lie and blame Naofumi for anything bad that happens. And I’m sure Mine is reinforcing it with flattery and telling him what he wants to hear.
  19. They just don't want to accept that he's actually stronger than them even though by their reasoning he should be the weakest (to be fair I expected them to be freaked out and more than a little scared the first time they saw him in rage mode). Sword Hero appears to be a bit more open minded than the others but still kind of skeptical. Bow Hero just seems stubborn and not wanting to back down. Spear Hero though has developed a personal grudge against Naofumi and just keeps getting more resentful the more Naofumi succeeds (I have a feeling it's going to take him down a very dark path).
  20. Hi Score Girl gets a second season in October. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-21/hi-score-girl-anime-gets-2nd-season-in-october/.144800 Of course, if Netflix follows the usual pattern we won't get it in the US until 2020 at the earliest. Edit: Surprised to see that Netflix just added the OVA episodes (13 - 15)
  21. Maybe Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online and Btooom! For similarities to Mirai Nikki, maybe Eden of the East or C Control
  22. Let the madness begin

  23. Oh yeah, I forgot about that The other heroes seem to think his curse/rage abilities are some sort of hack or cheat. And the slave trader commented on how his business was booming because people keep hoping to replicate the success Naofumi's had with Filo & Raphtalia. I'm afraid that this reputation of being a "cheater" is going to stick and keep him from the respect/gratitude he's due for most people. As for the real reasons, just have to keep watching and see I guess.
