Welcome, the more active members the better I’ve watched a lot of older series myself, but still have a huge backlog (adulting sux, don’t it?). I’ve watched both versions of FMA but think I prefer Brotherhood personally. Also a fan of a lot of CLAMP’s older series. Hope you enjoy spending time here.

The preview for the 2nd cour showed a conversation between the two that should make you very happy (think it may actually happen in this week’s episode)

Currently playing Breath of Fire 2 on my 2DS XL. Probably one of my favorite RPGs along with Chrono Trigger.

When I refer to not liking how things between Naofumi & Melty seem to be developing, it’s not that I expect them to become an actual couple. With a lot of harem series it’s fairly obvious who the primary match is, but it can be annoying (to me anyway) when they use multiple girls competing for attention as a regular part of the show. As I said before, I don’t really consider Shield Hero to be a harem series (despite what some might say) up to this point, but I don’t want it to become one. The occasional bit as a way of character exploration is ok, but needs to be kept in check.

It definitely has very high production quality, both the animation & the music. And the first episode was very impressive. After seeing some clips of his fellow apprentices, however, I'm a bit concerned it could become a bit too silly (particularly the blond haired one). Don't get me wrong, it doesn't need to be all bloodshed & tragedy, but I hope it doesn't become too cartoonish.

Agree with all of this. It almost made me tear up the way it came across how unused to being treated kindly Kio is, which is no mean feat considering we've barely scratched the surface of his circumstances. Of course Tohru is the kindest person her could hope to meet, so understandable that he has difficulty figuring out how to respond to her, but also very cute

I absolutely LOVE the original series. Unfortunately Clear Card & Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles were both very disappointing to me.

Welcome. Members here are easy to talk to, shouldn't have any trouble finding people with similar interests. I'm also a fan of the Fire Emblem series, favorite's being the first one for Gameboy Advance (the one with Lyn, Eliwood & Hector, don't remember what number it is in Japan). Also Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Those are the ones that seemed to have the best characterizations IMO. For the Zelda series my favorites are A Link to the Past & A Link Between Worlds. Anyway, glad you're here, hope you enjoy yourself.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of Senryu Girl. I think I've found my "cute" series for the season

CrunchyRoll has the subtitled version listed as airing on Friday afternoons https://www.crunchyroll.com/fruits-basket I usually don’t see it available until a couple hours afterwards despite living in the eastern time zone. Not sure about other sites or the dub.

I think Im going to wait until the end of the season to attempt watching Sarazanmai instead of trying to follow it weekly. I enjoyed PenguinDrum despite it being weird as ****, but Im not sure Im onboard with some of what Ive heard about the new series. But Id hate to not at least give it a chance, especially since people are saying it has arguably the highest production quality of the season.

After ep 14. Yeah, this is more like it. I definitely enjoyed this week's episode more.

@efaardvark that one was too weird for my tastes, though a lot of the short series are pretty out there. Segue to me watching the first ep of Isekai Quartet last night. Having not seen Tanya the Evil or Re:Zero didn’t keep me from enjoying it. The Konosuba characters are indistinguishable from their non-chibi versions. As far as Overlord’s cast, the departure from the usually dark tone promises to be entertaining. Pretty sure this one’s gonna be a keeper They need to subtitle the dialogue in the OP & ED though

Just finished the first episode of One Punch Man season 2. Despite some people complaining about a drop in "quality", I still think it made one of the better first impressions for the season.

After watching the first episode of the new series I went back & watched the same episode of the original series (subtitled in both cases). I don't intend to do this going forward, but since I really didn't clearly remember the original series I was a bit curious how they compared. While it covered the same events, the newer one is more polished. While this is expected artistically, I also thought the story flowed better. And the new version has a male VA for Yuki which seemed to fit better to me anyway. However, the new version seems to be taking things more somberly. There's the foreshadowing in the opening scene, plus when Yuki's fan club confronts Tohru, they pretty much just brow beat her (in the original they did a sort of cheerleading routine first which was kinda funny And when Shigure welcomes Tohru as their housekeeper, the new version just has him speaking the words, but in the original he actually sings it :lol: Overall it seems like the new version has much higher production values & will take things more seriously.
