  1. I'm finding it enjoyable enough though I doubt it will become one of my all time faves. A lot of people compare it to last season's Quintessential Quintuplets, but I actually like this one better because there are fewer girls and I couldn't buy into the whole "we're quintuplets so people can't tell us apart even when we don't look alike" . Besides, I have a thing for glasses girls
  2. Yah, season 2 definitely brought the feels (the week between episodes 8 & 9 was absolute hell wondering Was also good getting a bit more insight into Reigen's mindset & seeing how he & Mob first met. Their relationship is definitely evolving, Mob isn't gullible enough to believe everything he says anymore, but still recognizes him as a friend and mentor. And of course Mob's influence has definitely made Dimple a better ... whatever he is . There definitely needs to be another season since he still hasn't confessed to Tsubomi yet and we know next to nothing about her. And oh yeah, the animation for episode 5 was mindblowing.
  3. I tend to burn out on the mega series even if I enjoy them, simply because after awhile I get in the mood for something different, For One Piece it was early in the Skypeia arc & for HxH it was at the start of the Chimera Ant arc. I still am interested in going back to them again someday. but right now I'm enjoying exploring different series and genres. This is definitely true for me lately. I kind of like exploring different genres. Case in point: my favorites from the Winter 2018 season were Yuru Camp & A Place Further than the Universe. For Spring 2018 it was Golden Kamuy & Megalobox.
  4. I really enjoyed season 1 as well, but lost interest in season 2 after 3 or 4 episodes. I still intend to revisit again someday in case it just wasn't what I was in the mood for at the time. Something similar (but much shorter) is Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens. Like Durarara it has a large of cast of very eccentric characters who lives are all connected, but a word of warning it is VERY VIOLENT with dark humor (probably more like Baccano), so that might be a deal breaker. I'm also watching the same currently airing series as you. As far as Demon Slayer goes, I think I'm committed through the end of the cour (episode 12 or 13), but not convinced yet whether I'm in for the long term, as most shonen series go on & on. I couldn't get into Sun & Moon at all. Didn't seem to have any of the charm of the original series plus I don't like the new art style. I did enjoy XY though.
  5. While I'm not really a fan of the series, I would have to say the whole Principal vs Deer segment from Nichijou has to rank pretty high on the list
  6. I would have to hit pause at least once per episode because I would be laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe It’s very much the opposite of the cute girls doing cute things trope
  7. I rather enjoyed an older shonen series called Buso Renikin, but everyone I’ve ever met either never heard of it or their reaction is “meh”. Rune Soldier is one I really think is underrated, as I enjoyed it more than the more popular Slayers which is the same sort of tongue in cheek fantasy series. Finally, there’s a parody series called Miami Guns that everyone seems to despise. While it’s certainly not a good series and not one of my favorites, I don’t understand the level of hate it seems to get as I can easily think of worse & more offensive examples of the genre.
  8. Welcome, glad you found your way here . Nice to see someone else appreciates Asobi Asobase’s “unique” sense of humor (closest thing I’d seen prior was a series called Girls High though Hinamatsuri & Chiyo’s School Road are somewhat similar). Romance series: Favorite is probably ReLIFE (make sure to watch episodes 14-17 to get the real ending). Also enjoyed Recovery of an MMO Junkie, though it’s short and seemed to end abruptly. I’m currently checking out a series called Love is Hard for Otaku. Not as good as the other two, but still enjoyable. Series with introverted MCs: I highly recommend Yuru Camp & My Roommate is a Cat which are recent favorites of mine. A lot of anime seem to treat introverts as “joke characters”, but these 2 seem to be more realistic depictions. Shonen: My Hero Academia’s my fave. Also the aforementioned Shield Hero and some more obscure titles called Buso Renkin and Ushio & Tora. Hope you enjoy it here
  9. Watching anime, what else?
  10. As far as something that's just relaxing or cheerful but without any sort of romance, try Yuru Camp (just the OP lifts my spirits If you don't mind some supernatural elements as long as it's not overdone, you might enjoy Flying Witch too
  11. Cowboy Bebop & the original Card Captor Sakura series
  12. Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun or Ouran Host Club come to mind

  14. While "love" certainly isn't the right word, one of my favorite villains from another perspective is Lt. Tsurumi from Golden Kamuy, simply because he's so entertaining  The guy acts like a complete lunatic, but still seems to be capable of thinking strategically & his men show a high level of loyalty to him. While fear is certainly a factor, a lot of them genuinely seem. to respect his leadership. While the guy is clearly "not all there" (he frequently uses the fact that part of his skull and brain were blown off when a shell exploded to excuse some of his behavior), many times it seems like there's a method to his madness and you wonder if at least some of it isn't an act. And at times he does fall into the enemy-of my-enemy category. Either way, it's never boring when he has the spotlight.
  15. The one that immediately comes to mind for me is Akane Shinjo from SSSS.Gridman She's a highschool girl obsessed with kaiju that can bring the models she carves to life and control them. Why? Because she thinks normal life is boring & kaiju are cool (plus she uses them to eliminate people & things that annoy her. So why do I her? Well first, she's obviously a cute girl (extra points because she wears glasses sometimes). Also, while her reasons for wreaking havoc (and even killing people) are childish & petty, similar to what @The History Kid said about his guy, her behavior probably isn't that unusual for an angsty teen with a godlike ability. And she's actually a very lonely person who gets stressed out by things that are outside her control. Plus she's actually being manipulated by the main villain into believing that she's a god.
  16. I finally got around to watching this and enjoyed it a lot. Definitely not what I was expecting from a DC superhero movie, but I didn’t mind the campiness of it (I know people have already talked about nit making the Marvel comparison, but I actually feel liked it worked better thanThor: Ragnarok). I think the only thing I rolled my eyes at was the seahorses making horse noises and the drum playing squid/octopus which felt more like it belonged in The Little Mermaid  I’m normally skeptical of CGI, but it really was breathtaking here (almost on par with Avatar. Overall, I don’t think it’s really been given the credit it deserves.
  17. Been binging Rilakkuma & Kaoru on Netflix. Kind of a combination of Aggretsuko & Winnie the Pooh
  18. Loving the nostalgic scenes from the new Attack on Titan ED
