No way Gleipnir is going to be able to untangle & resolve things in just one more ep. A 2nd season better be in the works.

I am not a fan of CGI, but have to admit the latest Ghibli film is looking awesome (they’re just still images, but nonetheless

Final episode for Arte, My Next Life as a Villainess & Ascendence of a Bookworm S2 all air tomorrow. While I’ve enjoyed all these series a lot hangs on how they wrap things up or at least pause till the next season.

Watched the first ep of GITS 2045. Cannot believe people are still making CGI this bad after all these years. Maybe they blew their budget making sure The Major had nipples in the OP
But at least they’re making relevant social commentary. Like the reason the goons are wearing football uniforms is because they’re jocks who got stuck with student loan debts

Latest ep of My Next Life as a Villainess actually made me tear up a bit as Katarina gets some closure for the regret in her previous life. I believe next week is the finale

Through episode 4 of Dorohedoro. Geez this is one twisted up trainwreck. How much you enjoy it largely depends on whether it’s sense of humor makes you laugh more than cringe. Gotta love the advisories (violence, nudity, gore & smoking
). That being said the art style & music really fit the show.

Happy to see the official announcement that Appare Ranman will get a restart in July as what I saw of it prior to the delay seemed promising. To me had a similar feel to Shinichiro Watanabe’s work. Was also glad Diary of Our Days at Breakwater will be returning. While it seems like it will just be a SoL/CGDCT series, I still enjoyed what I saw.

Just heard on the radio about this idea to supposedly make eating in restaurants safer during the pandemic. Where plexiglass domes lower from the ceiling around each patron. Know I’m showing my age here, but all I can think of is the “Cone of Silence” from Get Smart

Started watching the Tanya the Evil movie this morning. Will continue on my lunch break, but probably won’t finish until this evening.

Saga of Tanya the Evil episode 8. In many ways felt like the culmination of the series primary theme: The capability of humans to rationalize “inhuman” behavior.

Should be able to finish it today before moving onto the movie. Honestly I don’t find Tanya’s behavior nearly as disturbing as Ainz in Overlord
torturing people to death just to resurrect them & do it again and then use what’s left to create undead soldiers. There’s the possibility that they may just be characters in the game, but as much time as the series spends on developing them, still makes me cringe every time it happens

While it’s not all that dark compared to a lot of other stuff, I have to admit I’m a bit surprised by Inuyasha’s tone. Think it’s because my primary memories of Rumiko Takahashi is Ranma 1/2 & Urusei Yatsura. Easy to forget she also did Mermaid Forest/Scar.

people who write this series off for the violence & lewdness are missing something IMO.
figured Claire wasn’t the type to lose her cool over what happened between Shuichi & Chihiro though she’s clearly not happy about it. But fully expected Elena to rip her cute little head off. Strange that Chihiro remembers merging but Shuichi doesn’t. Seems he & Elena were a couple or well on their way to being one before what she did erased his memories of her. And now they can’t be together because she has a different agenda
As to Claire & Shuichi not being able to be one because they’re too different, seems to me that’s what makes their partnership work. The Chihiro/ Shuichi merger was more powerful, but out of control. Shuichi/Clair seem to balance each other out[/spoiler]

Just finished episode 12 of Inuyasha about the little girl in danger of becoming an evil spirit & it having nothing to do with the sacred jewel. Much darker than I was expecting it to be, but understanding a little better why the series has the respect it does.
