Hey, have you guys ever thought about themes? For example, maybe you could do a fantasy anime day or sports anime day or 80s anime day, or mech anime day, or anime with titles that begin with T day, etc. for the streams. That way, you can showcase a lot of variety. Like maybe put up a poll with themes and have members vote and whatever wins has an anime based on that theme for said stream. Also, another suggestion...maybe for the days, you stick to Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Most people are off then.

Hey everyone. I've been meaning to share this for a while. Not sure if you've come across it, but it's a holographic type "waifu" (think that's what it's called). It's very intelligent and smart and can control things in your home and stuff. Would you want this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkcKaNqfykg Another group I'm a part of brought this up and we were discussing the negatives of this type of thing from a sociological perspective, but I won't bring that up here.

I don't own any type of blu-ray movies or shows. I never really thought much about them. It took me forever to even bother purchasing DVDs as I was still partial to VHS years ago. I didn't like the idea of DVDs, even if they were better quality, due tot e fact that they were less durable. You could drop a VHS (or BETA) on the floor, kick it around, etc., it would still play fine. One scratch or a spec of dust on a DVD, it skips or is unplayable. The only bad thing about VHS/BETA were the VCR players. In other words, the machine would probably go bad before the tape would. Hm, I don't own many anime DVDs. I only buy DVDs of series that have rewatch value for me, and not many anime do that for me. The list is fairly short. I do have, however, Japanese concert DVDs. Anyway, going back on topic, I doubt I'll be buying anything on blu-ray anytime soon. I don't even own a blu-ray player. and the highest gaming console I kind of have (stateside) is the Wii and before that, the Gamecube and PS2 as far as disc-based game systems go.

Well, I already live here, so, maybe I can help. ^^ What specifically would you like to know about? My first time here, it was for a year (2010 - 2011). i went home and then returned in 2012 and have been here ever since, so maybe I can help answer any questions that you may have. What are your goals, exactly, if it's okay to ask?

Nope. Years ago, if I came across things that seemed off or different, I would look it up...like Inuyasha made me super curious about how schools in Japan worked and why Kagome could get away with missing so much of it. Yup.

I think it depends on what type of filler it is. There are two types to me. Anime original stuff which may focus on a character and then the kind that stretches out a canon arc. I hate the latter. I'll try to explain with examples. DBZ: This series had both. The anime original eps they did were partially entertaining, like when Goku and Piccolo were learning to drive. I thought it was funny and lighthearted. It was a nice break from the main plot, focusing on the characters. The eps that stretched the plot out...in other words, padding, is what I had a problem with. Planet Namek, anyone? Five minutes until it blows....20 eps later....now three minutes are left. That type of filler I hate. *** Sailor Moon: For this series, I felt the filler helped it, which showed the girls had lives outside of their "Sailor duties". It made the characters more relatable and interesting, imo. This is why I grew bored of Sailor Moon Crystal, despite it being closer to the manga. It felt like all work and no play for the characters, which I found boring. None of the girls were engaging to me at all.

I feel that it's cultural...partially. I never thought about this before though. Anyway, Japanese tend to come across as being apologetic in general. Could be a combination of tatemae (doing what's expected of you even if you don't fully agree with it) and maintaining "wa", which means harmony. So yeah, that's what I think. IRL, you'll always come across Japanese who may appear to be keeping the peace. Go to a doctor, and the nurse will probably apologize for giving you an X-Ray. In the context you mentioned, it's just a bad guy being evil, right? That's not limited to anime.

My family back home because I live in Japan and would be killed along with everyone else here. ><

I'm a purist and am like this with practically everything. If a show is originally from, say, France, I want to hear French. If a show is from the US, I want to hear English. If a show is from Costa Rica, I want to hear Spanish. I want to see and hear the show in the way it was originally meant to be seen and heard. So, to sum it up, I'm big on subtitled shows, and it never bothered me because from a young age (about 10 or 11), my family invested in a "new" closed-caption television for my grandmother's sake and just became used to it. She's lived with us since I was 4.

Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter. He's nuts. He's a perv. He hits on his female students (minus Chiyo, thank goodness) despite being married with a kid himself. Totally creepy.

Oh was just saying, it sounded similar to American Chinese takeout.
-
For me, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, lots of cheese, tomatos, sausage.
-
That sounds more like American Chinese takeout. ^^ That aside I like Chinese food, both Americanized style and authentic.

In regards to your spoiler, how could anyone have thought that? He clearly saw him as a friend who had turned to the dark side. Both could relate to one another because of the losses and loneliness they both felt. He was a comrade. One of Naruto's most commendable traits was how serious he took friendships and that's probably due to the fact that he grew up without them, as he was always shunned by those around him. So yeah, I really don't get why the revaluation in your spoiler was a surprise.

Yesterday, I was explaining the plot of Marmalade Boy on another forum I frequent. I forgot the ending, and was planning on rereading that part. I found it but also another series titled, Marmalade Boy Little, which was a sequel taking place 13 years after the original series, but that's debatable given that everyone is using smartphones. So yeah, I've read up to what's been released. Other series... The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Kuroshitsuji Detective Conan

I guess I'll have to go with the original series, as I did manage to watch all of it. With Shippuden, I apparently stopped 192 eps in. I don't think it was Shippuden's fault and feel that even if it was the first series, I still would've eventually stopped watching. I just lost interest and wanted the series as a whole to hurry up and get to the point.

Unfortunately, I was an only child. I always wanted an older brother.

Was it an old series or a newer series? -
Probably Super Mario Bros or Duckhunt for the NES.
-
Do you mean the special or the Jim Carey film?

Hello everyone. Since Christmas is literally around the corner, I was just curious what your favorite movies and specials for the holiday season were. For movies, to narrow it down, it has to be focused around Christmas or whatever. In other words, no Die Hard. :-P Anyway, for a movie, I'd have to say Home Alone 2. To this day I still love it and reminisce over how much fun I had when seeing it in theatres. As for specials... A Charlie Brown Christmas How the Grinch Stole Christmas Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol Honorable mentions... Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Frosty the Snowman The Animaniacs Christmas eps/shorts A Christmas Carol (1951 and 1999 versions) Flintstones Christmas Carol A Christmas Story Ok that's all I can think of right off so what are some of your favs?

For me, probably Voltron back in the mid-80s. My older cousin by five years was a big fan so I was usually forced to watch it and Transformers. A 3/4 year old couldn't compete with an 8/9 year old. lol

I have an iPhone 4s and 5s. The 4 is still active. Since I lack a home phone, I treat the other phone as a back up. Back home, I had no phone.
