A friend that I met at church, and seems to now not want anything to do with me anymore because she did more than she was asked and could not really accept me, told me once that restaurants in the State where you live charge for water. Why is that?

Hi there! The names Elijah, nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the community, OtakuAcolyte. I hope you enjoy your time in the community. Everyone is very friendly. I kind of like SAO too, but only Aincrad and Mother's Rosario arcs. Everything else was boring. -
Welcome, zin. I hope you like things here, as everyone is pretty nice. You like Anohana, huh? That was a pretty enjoyable show, and NIS America at least had decent subs for it (NIS America has released a lot of subtitles that are hard to read because they were too small).

Have you seen Yu Yu Hakusho or Rurouni Kenshin? Both are pretty good, but only Yu Yu Hakusho was good enough to watch from episode 1 until the end.

Pandora Hearts is really nice too. The mangaka never disappointed me yet, and Yen Press did not do anything near unforgivable like they did with Judge.

Star Trek kind of inspired our tech today, but it does not feel like it is strong science fiction, as you said. Let's see, as for Cy~, would you ever convict either the presiding judge or bailiff if you were put on the jury and your options were not limited to whether the defendant were innocent or guilty?

Nice list, I remember a lot of these, but I do not remember how old I was when I saw them.

Are you trying to go against the Lord thy God? I guess I have to teach you a lesson. Seriously though, you are welcome.

I remember Are You Afraid of the Dark?, but I never really watched it until after it was no longer aired on television.

Kind of glad you did not, after having read the summary and details surrounding a book mentioned in the thread asking about worst book(s) people read. I sure am glad I do not have the same kind of work you do, if that is the case. I would heaved fired them the first chance I got, and then demand they pay back every cent the company ever paid them over the course of their career there. Has anyone done anything unexpectedly nice for you, other than zoop?

Mikoto Misaka is my favorite female character. She is fun, smart, not a girly girl, and actually feels like a human, unlike Touma Kamijou, who only seems human in Railgun's Sisters arc.

welcome, Scrooge. I hope you enjoy your time here, and conquer the community.

That's true. Of course, that is bound to happen when you live in a society that believes optimism will make you succeed, when optimists die quite soon after pessimists.
-
Yeah, it did, and people were outraged because the ending was rushed and was very unsatisfying.

Just be careful you do not ruin your immune system. Being too clean and the drug dependency that western medicine has become tends to not be good for keeping the immune system strong, especially since I have to worry about mine, even though I still have my youth. Anyway, what would you do if your boss decided to give you your pay in unrolled pennies?

So true. I think the last things I remember seeing on Cartoon Network that was good and/or decent were: Samurai Jack Code Lyoko Adult Swim (when they were much more friendly to anime in the early days) This must be what our parents and grandparents were thinking when they saw what we watched.

Let's see. My favorites from my childhood were the following: Johnny Bravo Dexter's Laboratory Scooby Dao and that about all of ones that I remember the names of. Of course, Cartoon Network and a few other kids' networks were at least decent back then.

What would you do if you had the powers of a god?

wish granted, but your customers/clients are jerks or hard to work with and they will not pay you unless they are 100% satisfied and there are absolutely no flaws. I wish teleportation beams existed.

Hello, belle. Welcome to the community. I hope you enjoy your time here. Everyone is really nice.

Got back home and not completely happy about it, but I can at least get places on my own again.

I would take the styrofoam and break it down into a blade-like object, then carefully saw through your throat, until you start bleeding and have troubles breathing. Next item: toy pirate that shoots out of barrel like a jack in the box.

I certainly agree. Funny thing that opened my eyes to the importance of this were works in the detective, mystery, and crime fiction genre. They mainly deal with investigating things, but the methods utilized by people like Sherlock, Poirot, and others can be applied to any field. This is exactly why is it much easier to understand people through fiction. We might not be able to figure out the writer, but the characters are delivered as a whole. We cannot fully understand a person, and that is probably why I do not try to fully understand them, only enough to help them with their problem. Finding the correct answer is difficult in of itself, even if we do not go for the most logical. I do have problems with being judgmental, but I also do not like rewarding people for trying to help people like me for the wrong reasons (e.g. Helping me be more active in the church because that is what they think the Lord wants, instead of trying to actually help), and to keep myself safe.

It is kind of easy, but a lot of emotions and behaviors can crop up for different reasons. I am glad you did not bring up the "put yourself in the other person's shoes" thing, since you are still you, and you will only think you know what the person has to deal with.

Do not get the Yen Press editions of Judge. I would definitely recommend Doubt though.
