Thought I would go ahead, and start this topic here in manga as we have one of these for anime so thought why not manga too. Here you can post what manga you are currently reading, or are reading next in your list. Minor dissolution about the series, or suggestions are also ok, but please keep spoilers on the lite side for those that do not want to be spoiled before reading a series. As for me at this time. I am reading Maddoka Magica after just finishing the anime. I have to say the manga is a bit better in my opinion despite being a manga created after the anime to my best understanding. That is not normally the case, but I am glad for it in this one. So what about you guys what are you reading. ^^

Hey so I want to have an open conversation about something I think people maybe overlook or try not to think to heavily about, which is what I did for a long time but recently I can’t anymore it’s like my mind unlocked info and now I can’t turn it off. We all know anime has a lot of fan service right? Well usually I can ignore it cause it’s usually just a high-school girl with big boobs and her panties are showing, stereotypical. I’m talking about the other issue. The sexualization of very young girls and or young looking girls. For example, I’m scrolling on a website to read a manga and I come across one with a girl in elementary school flashing her panties and I’m like what is this? I just ignore it but I do want to ask how is it so widely accepted? I know most people see it and go oh god but we also like don’t riot or try and take it down. It’s considered freedom of expression or the argument is “the author isn’t a pedo he likes anime lolis”. It got me to thinking though when manga artists who do draw sexualized anime girls( specifically very young ones) are they using a reference in their head? Do they have a reference of a real life little girl and use her to draw, or is it more they use reference of a made up adult but just makes them smaller in their head, or do they use other loli characters as reference so on and so fourth or do they make up the anime girl completely without any reference whether real or fake. I just couldn’t get it out of my head if they’re using real children as reference to draw whether they use fotos of images in their head of real kids they’ve seen. Even big time anime’s or mangakas will draw young girls flashing their non existent cleavage or showing panties, one good example is Shirō from no game no life. she’s literally 11 but so sexualized. It’s so prevalent in other shows and mangas and they tend to be created by men as well. I love anime and manga, I really do, but I just wanted to get opinions from other people who see this happening as well, how do you cope? Or are you also not coping well. Do you have any more knowledge and insight from artists who do draw loli characters? Are they not using real kids and reference. The problem here to is there will be artists who are creeps and do use real children, I guess I’m talking about the majority of the community that draws that kind of stuff, what do they use as reference if any. Created the character type called dual blade on Maple Story. I was playing a demon character. I have never tried this character type and wanted a change this time playing.

Hmm I've always been to scared to try Bloody Mary lol I just always think something might actually happen so I never do things like this being overly-cautious. I saw a UFO once myself when I was a kid and to this day I still can't describe what I saw as anything logical other than a UFO. I always try to rationalize everything if I can. I was just having this UFO discussion actually with @Emotion Flux When you say you've seen plenty of firsthand evidence of things, such as faeries, can I ask what you mean by that? It's just that when I lived in the house I described in my first post I saw something very strange one night that was small and ran across my dresser. It was upright on 2 legs and it jumped straight into the glass window and vanished without shattering the glass. I thought I had been dreaming but when I got up to turn the light on I knew I had really seen it because the things it had bumped into on my dresser were on the floor. I've always wondered if what I saw was something like what people consider Fae or some type of small demon/apparition. I don't usually tell anyone about this particular experience though because it's kind of when people start looking at you like you're crazy lol ~ I've tried looking things up online countless times but never really found any description that matches close to what I saw.

My favorite anime varies depending on what I'm currently watched and obsessed with but I guess one that has been my favorite for the longest time is Naruto since it was one of the first anime shows I got really interested in. It's between Digimon/Naruto/Inuyasha but yeah I will go with Naruto I guess. I guess I would be a ninja then if I was in the Naruto-verse. I would want to be in the leaf village or sand village. I would want to have some kind of ice or snow style type jutsu though since I always feel most at home in the snow and if I had an element style I think it would be ice and snow. I'd also like to have some sort of healing jutsu because I think being a medic/healer would suit me. Basing that solely on the fact that I enjoy helping people and I usually play healer types really well in MMO's I'm not very good at doing things and I'm often clumsy which leads me to believe I wouldn't last long but I also have incredibly amazing dumb luck that always keeps from getting injured badly so somehow I think I would survive. I guess I would probably just be added in unexpectedly too. Just show up one day like hello world I am here to mess things up and cause chaossss ~

I started a new character on Wakfu. I am now making a character called a Eniripsa and I have always played as the character called a Cra. Eniripsa are healing type compare to a Cra which is damage type.

I'm an avid library-goer, and I also picked up a few books from Kinokuniya too! Recently I've read Metamorphosis, The Summer Hikaru Died, Dandadan 5 - 6, Drrr! Light Novel, Rozen Maiden, Go For it Nakamura!, and Phantom Tales of the Night. 1. Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka was basically the embodiment of "If I was a worm would you still love me?". But in Gregory's case, his family didn't quite see him the same when he woke up as a gigantic insect. 2. The Summer Hikaru Died was a really interesting take on the grief of losing a loved one. Psychological horror and boys love was not a combination I've ever seen before, but the art depicted it masterfully. 10/10 3. Dandadan was amazing as usual. Tatsu's art and story-telling just keeps improving with every chapter! 4. Drrr! the english translation of the light novel is a book I've read many times, and it never gets old. Drrr! is my favorite franchise like ever, and I love all the characters. Although, I have read the original japanese light novel, the english version doesn't quite capture all of the nuance and complex themes communicated in it. Its more of a dumbed down version of the og. 5. Rozen Maiden's a classic manga for all lolita. As a baby lolita and ball-jointed doll owner, I absolutely adore the Maiden dolls. It was published sometime in 2003 so it still has the paneling, screentone, and art style of 90's manga. 6. Go For it Nakamura! is another boys love book thats super wholesome. The main character reminds me of Ranma because of his hair, but their personality's couldn't be any more different. Nakamura is very shy and insecure unlike Ranma... 7. Phantom Tales of the Night is really creepy, but I liked the mystery and how it draws you in.

Ragnarok Online is really a good game. I remember now I used to play this too along with Maple Story but I don't guessed that Maple Story is considered this type of 2D animation maybe.

The only games I can think of that are 2D and a little bit in the anime style are Adventure Quest, Adventure Quest Worlds, and DragonFable which are all made by the same gaming company. They are fun games to play if you like this style but the graphics are not amazing but this is done in a cute 2D style. Adventure Quest Worlds is also MMORPG with many character custom options and contains many aspects you see in most games such like armor, weapon, pet customs, quests and missions, instances with boss monsters with friends and ability to skills such like fishing. More games in this style to me would be great because I like this type that is more realistic and relaxing.

I know I am well LATE to this forum, but had to voice my opinions. I feel like the TYPE of each is important, for example there are many cat-girls whom I wouldn't pick over a fox-girl any day of the week, however Omamori Himari's female lead Himari is a Bakeneko (Monster/Demon Cat) and is absolutely stunning with her samurai-style servitude and yet still extremely seductive towards her master with just the right amount of Nyaa~'s. Meanwhile my preferred type of Fox-Girl only has so very few animated characters whom I would actually go for; Tenko Kuugen, Konohana-Tei girls, Hagoromo Gitsune, to name some of the few, as opposed to the plethora of animated cat-girls. I do however love many Fox-Girls who appear in various un-animated manga such as Yuki from Tamayura Kitsune, who is a fox granted human form by the god whom she serves as a shrine-maiden (Fox-Girls make the best shrine maidens). Honestly have very little interest in Dog-Girls, of course if you count wolves then Holo the Wise Wolf (Spice and Wolf) is hands down the greatest animal eared girl in history (first animal eared waifu), though her appearance and actions are so fox-like that it irritates me that she is said to be a wolf. However there is one dog-girl I have found in the past year of two that has been deemed waifu material and that is Wereanna from Kamitachi Ni Hirowareta Otoko (at least the manga) as she is fiercely loyal and beautiful, of course her wolf-like feeling helps earn her points. Similarly there are many Sub-Categories such as cats > big cat - girls, such as tiger girls or what have you that have a strong appeal. In the end it really comes down to individual characters traits for me, but I do admittedly lean towards Fox-Girls (Kitsune), the only outliers that could convince me otherwise are samurai cat-girl Himari and Wise Wolf-girl Holo. (Unsurprisingly all of my favourite of each are yokai/demons/spirits, which is where I spent my early anime days)

The type I play is a lot of single player games on Playstation but on the computer I like to play MMORPG's that allow you to pick classes and level and train characters either as by yourself or with friends.

So, I read this colorized manga that was in a similar format as a typical manhwa, but it was a Japanese manga. It was about a half-dead girl and this nine-tailed fox found her and saved her. She has this flower thing on her that has to do with whether she lived or not. She is a high school girl. It is not Kamisama hajimashita nor is it this Yome one since it was not an ecchi manga. It also was water-colored and it was very flowy art-wise. From what I remember, she also made friends with like another type of god/deity in the story and ML's story is rather tragic in that he is one of the last of his kind if I remember correctly. Also, the romance was very slow and they did kiss and such like much later in the story as the ML was basically in denial. If anyone can help me find the title that would be great! I’m the original poster, I asked this question because I really was disgusted by a lot of anime/ more but more so manga and hentai anime depicting children in sexual scenarios. I think for me I can know it’s not really children, it’s not real fotos, but I often wonder if people who draw porn of small children in their manga, are they using real child porn as references, I don’t know,l??? will they ever admit to it? Idk do I think all use references of chile porn? no, do I think all mangakas who draw lolis are pedophiles, no. But im sure some are and it’s always itching at the back of my head if I’m seeing art inspired by child porn. It’s hard to avoid it, you Google an anime you like and loli art pops up, suggestions, I think for me my heart gets heavy everytime I think of is this based off a real child? Did they trace over a real child. Child porn in Japan wasn’t illegal till 1999 and illegal to own until 2014. You could go to a store and buy it in the shady section. I know not everyone who like lolis are pedos, but I know some are and considering how lax publishers are with publishing anyone’s work it’s disturbing I think people who make this type of art should be investigated and made sure they aren’t doing anything nefarious. If I could have it my way i wouldn’t ban it causing banning things makes things worse; at least at first I’d make the public image of loli unpalatable by exposing all the disgusting things it portrays and basically sometimes you need to shame people foe why they like. And then once it’s let’s “normal” to the public I’d ban it. In a perfect world. Basically I think background checks should be done for people who draw this type of pornography. Sexualization of children, even in manga should be taken more seriously. For me, maybe I’ve become more sensitive to it but even if I’m watching an anime I like that is relatively free of anything sexual or weird it’s always at the back of my head that I’m participating. I like anime and manga, I search it up and BAM, suggestion “I’m not a lolicon trending manga is being suggested, and so many things where i feel ill explode. And I was like OH UM THATS STILL DISGUSTING SIR. Go to jail and for. Who would do that?? Draw sex crimes. He admitted this on camera. He also admitted he was a pedofile and this helps to keep him from committing. Bullshit my ass he does it because he is either A. Is committing or B. Scared to commit cause he’ll get caught. The manga you draw just fuels it. You admitted to drawing about REAL CASES. If you disagree please tell me why? I genuinely want to know. How can you disassociate the two. How are you ok with seeing it. Even if you don’t enjoy it. I see it and immediately want to vomit. I used to not be so sensitive I don’t know why I am now, am I just becoming more aware of how damaging it is to me? And society idk. Lastly wanted to add when I say loli I mean in the sense of child being drawn in sexually suggestive manner or blatant pornography. Boy or girl. Seeing a girl or boy who looks 10 with their ass out is not something we need to see, it’s not funny or adds to the plot, it’s just weird. People who like lolis cause they’re cute and not sexualized, that’s different. I like cute characters too, it’s the sexualizing. Why do I need to see her vagina indent in her panty shot?? It’s happened too many times. It’s just too acceptable, people who like this stuff will still exist I just wish it was harder to find and more obscure, if it has to exist.

surprisingly my mom got into anime and manga because of the live action of one piece and yu yu hakusho. she really liked one piece and loved yu yu hakusho (the live action of course). any anime you would recommend for new watchers or/and with darker themes would probably what she would like. any help would be recommended. even if they are old show

I have a MAL but forget to use it all of the time. A lot of the time I will browse Crunchyroll for new animes that I just have not seen or what looks interesting.

I just finished Frieren recently. While I agree with it being the best thing to air over the past 6 months, I have to feel it’s current ranking on MAL is overstating things. I read a lot of books by Daniel Silva, he's my favorite Author and kind of the only books that keep my interest recently. I also read a few by Jeff Long here and there. These are mostly spy/mystery books or end of the world type books. When I'm not reading those I read a lot of books about World War II because I've always been really interested in that part of history.
