And lastly, I was extremely glad that we haven't taken down our Christmas tree and Christmas lights as of yet because I was able to get a very pretty snow view with the Christmas things still up from our living room

Today we did get out in the snow for a walk. We put on snow boots, the heaviest coats and hats we had and went out. We didn't get very far since most of the roads and sidewalks are still icy and hard to walk through. We went around several blocks, threw some snow, and made some snow angels. There was some places to walk but a lot of it was still snow-covered, making it a little hard to walk since some areas the snow comes up to your knees. We probably would have stayed out longer but given the temperatures I didn't think that was a good idea since you can get frost bitten very quickly with the winds making it so cold.

I don't have any photos of @Zeref in the snow sledding yet, but we did go out and walk around a little bit ~ as he mentioned it was far too cold to stay out for a long time with the wind being as awful as it was ;-; I did get to roll around in the snow and make a snow angel though so I am veryyyyy happy

& I have several pictures in the spoiler for anyone who wants to see them  We didn't wander too far away from the house but tomorrow I'm hoping we can walk down to the park but it depends on the sidewalks and the route there because right now most of the sidewalks are still way too covered in snow and ice to walk that way ~

I love the pictures, that's beautiful. Snow makes everything look so clean and fresh. Have fun in it and be safe. Make sure you don't get sick or frostbite.

Such wonderful snow pictures. The only thing I like about snow is the great photos you can take of snow scenes. You were very sensible not to go too far and stay out too long and catch a cold or risk getting frostbite.  I hope you can get to the park tomorrow, oh, and if you make another snow angel or something take a picture of it, please.

As I said, you always take the better pictures between the 2 of us lol. It was nice being out in the snow too I felt at home there. We didn't manage to get out today other than in front of the building where some kids were building a snowman and we helped a bit. The wind is just too bad to be out for long periods as of right now. I was worried it would be dangerous and it's good to be cautious when you are dealing with wind chills in the negatives.

Thanks, and for sure, I should be able to go back out there tomorrow and hopefully do that lol the problem is now that layer of ice that fell, so most of the snow feels solid x.x

Nahhh you take good pictures too  I'm hoping tomorrow we can make it to the park since we didn't today.. but the ice is what's causing the problems ~ that and yeah that wind is crazy, just instantly makes my eyes water. 

In other news, the building has installed some sort of AI vending machine in downstairs and I'm about to go see what that's about  They just sent out instructions on how to use it.

The layer of ice under the freshly fallen snow is the other danger, it's so easy to slip and fall in those conditions. So take great care when you go out, we don't want to hear that you've fallen over and hurt yourself.

Sounds like that machine from the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy that analysed the users taste buds and delivered a liquid which was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

I did some rearranging in my apartment, but kept things mostly the way I liked it. I shaved with bad shavers, but I still took an awesome picture for my Insta gallery. This day is lookin' good. Thank God Almighty.

I had work as usual and Wednesday mid-week project meetings which I hated going to these they really could be an email. I went out at lunch and bought some flowers for @Sakura because she deserves them.

I've had classes at home too all week, considering we are getting even more snow over the weekend we'll probably have classes from home again next week, not that I'm gonna complain about that ~

I played OSRS after classes and got the agility outfit I wanted ;D That was a nice accomplishment. 

oHHH & YASSS ~ @Zeref brought me these really pretty flowers earlier and they are one of my fave flowers (pink lily) ~

Today I attended my friend Bryan's funeral. Funerals aren't the happiest of things to attend, but this one was more a thanksgiving and commemoration of of a life well lived.

Went to the store to get groceries…Because a winter storm is headed to my area where it barely ever snows (Georgia), there wasn’t any milk there, but plenty of bread…This happens every time snow or something of the kind hits the south.

I had classes today, we're still doing at home classes and yeah I think we will be next week since there's like somewhere between 3-6 inches of snow happening on top of the 7 on the ground now.

People panic buying is a problem. During the covid lockdowns my local supermarket imposed limits on how many of some products people could buy at a time in an attempt to keep stock on the shelves.

Not much.  Kind of nervous + bored. Work is closed.  Power is still out so no internet except for my phone.  Outside it’s smoky and air quality is extremely poor so even physical exercise is out.  Mostly keeping my batteries charged and listening to the radio reports on the “Eaton” fire.

I've seen some pictures in the newspapers and saw some video footage of the various wildfires on the TV news and it's quite horrifying to see the level of destruction. What's even more worrying is that the fire services are overwhelmed by the scale of the fires.

I hope you stay safe and that the fires don't reach where you are.

Yeah I saw a video earlier of the LA skyline with just fires in the back and it looked really bad.

Thanks.  Up until a couple hours ago I was under an evacuation warning (meaning, pack the car and be ready to go, but ok to stay for now) but it has been lifted now and the electricity is back so I'm taking a breath while I can.  More "red flags" - high winds plus ultra low humidity - in the forecast for this weekend but for now I'll take what I can get.

My boss lives in Pasadena only a block or three from the "Eaton" fire.  His mom's was one of the houses burned down in nearby Altadena so he may not be in next week.  (She's ok but the house is gone.)  JPL had been evacuated like everything else in Pasadena and completely shut down but now that the evacuations have been rescinded they're rebooting and dusting everything off to get things going again.  I'm not sure if things will be ready for us to go back to work next week or not though.  Got a text this afternoon saying that people who are able should plan on working remotely for at least next week.  Rather difficult to do without power and like I said, there's likely to be more "red flag" weather over the weekend and into early next week.  Considering calling my aunt over in Ventura and visiting her for a week. 

Still quite a lot of recovery to do on many fronts.  I spent the last few hours after power came back cleaning the ash and soot that's covering everything like a layer of snow.  Not complaining tho.  At least I still have a house to clean.
