Hello Rudilla, Welcome to Anime Forums (and sorry about the delayed post) I think this makes you our most multilingual member! I'm also learning Japanese but at a slower self-study pace (more of a hobby). Do you have any other favourite anime titles you've seen recently?

Some good responses from everyone. Big lists you've posted! Comet Lucifer would be nice, odd pacing but gorgeous visuals. Though after that season 1 ending with Felia and Sogo, I'm not sure how they could really continue the story unless another new "threat" appeared. Elfen Lied I'll reserve judgement on as I've actually started only started watching it a few days ago, and wow, it is brutal. Hello Jack, welcome again to Anime Forums. Favourite horror film? For me that would be The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, though I've only seen the 2013 one. That one still makes me feel queasy. As for anime, Another is a decent anime horror title I enjoyed. Not so much for the gore, but it had good tension. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

So... I received my first parking fine the other day. $65 AUD! I was actually in the library doing some study. And then had some lunch, then returned to the library and I think I lost track of time. I genuinely thought the parking spot was 3 hours but turns out it was 2 hours. So no chance of getting out of that one... and they also took lots of photos of my car when I looked up the infringement online. Paid that one promptly. >__< So I was wondering if anyone here has received a fine before for parking or driving?

During one of my Japanese self-study kanji sessions I was daydreaming about Angel Beats. And then it occurred to me, why don't I watch anime with Japanese subtitles to make it more fun? So I went straight for my Japanese Blu-ray collection. Finally, an educational use for those anime Japanese Blu-rays. ... or so I thought. Most of them in my collection... had no Japanese subtitles. Date a Live - nope Love Live - nope Hyperdimension Neptunia - nope Mobile Suit Gundam SEED/Destiny HD Remaster - nope K-ON! - YES! Magical Lyrical Nanoha - YES! Puella Magi Madoka Magica - YES! Actually, quite a few had them. So not too bad... It seems though that Japanese subtitles, unlike Western releases don't usually include native language subtitles. But you know, I was craving Angel Beats. And so I set off on a mission, to find Japanese subtitles for it! The Solution Google-sama lead me to kitsunekko.net, a lovely website that has both English and Japanese subtitles for many anime titles. There are quite a few recent titles there, so definitely check it out! From there it's pretty straightforward to get them working. Just hook them up into VLC Media Player, easiest way is just to rename the subtitle file to the same name as your video file, and away you go. You MIGHT need to adjust the timing if it's slightly out of sync which you can do here: Now the best way to make the most of this is obviously you need to know Hiragana and Katakana first. Then from there it's a great reference to practice speaking and learn some kanji. The Result And voila, Angel Beats with Japanese subtitles: Hope this helps to make your studies more fun, because it certainly has for me.

Girls Dead Monster of course had a key role to play on many of the SSS missions in Angel Beats. In the middle group, pictured from left to right: Shiori Sekine (bassist) Miyuki Irie (drummer) Iwasawa (lead vocalist/guitarist) Hisako (lead guitarist) Of course Yui (not pictured - took over Iwasawa after episode 2) was a member too. This is a tough one for me, because we only know the background story of Iwasawa and Yui. But I think it would have to be Yui for me. She was really passionate about helping out with GDM and was super elated when was asble to take the lead vocalist role. Having said that, I would really have loved to have learned more about the other members... So which GDM member is your favourite?

Hello @Koppain, sorry about that. My intention was to take them offline temporarily to do some fixes to go with the new anime discussion forums. I have now re-enabled and brought back the old themes. I would however like to work with you to find out why the sidebar isn't working for you on the new themes. Can I ask what browser, device and platform you're using? I did test it on Chrome, Firefox and IE but if it's not a computer device there could be issues. Screenshots of the issue would also be really helpful too.

Indeed.. It does make me a bit uneasy as I'm worried the ending will be rushed - with the whole prince Zorzal overthrowing the empire thing happening fairly late in this second half.

Angel Beats has a really special place in my heart, because it was the first anime I watched after taking a long hiatus in anime during my university years. After watching Angel Beats that really pushed my interest in watching other anime titles, with Steins;gate being my next title. Anyway, I felt Angel Beats had a REALLY touching and emotional ending, BUT I was always left with that feeling of wanting more. A good number of the SSS main characters had great background story episodes on how they came to be in the Afterlife. Iwasama's one was great, Otonashi and Yuri of course were major ones too. But where was Shiina's story? And several other ones? Do you think they should've made Angel Beats longer than 13 episodes? I think so, for the main reason of wanting to explore more of the other characters without affecting the main ones. I mean seriously look at all the SSS members, lots of potential there:

Regarding all the comments above about it being creepy - I feel this would be the case if you were visiting everyday as a regular customer for regular meals. It's all in good fun. I believe there is a variant called tsundere cafes... now THAT would be interesting...

This episode was alright, and perhaps it was needed to take a break from Itami and co. in order to further escalate things in the Empire drama and turmoil. A bit of tension after Sherry's place was raided forcing her to go on the run for a bit. Ending was a little cringe-worthy with diplomat Sugawara embracing Sherry Tyueli. I mean, such a perfectly timed sunrise! Come on seriously, it's PERFECT! [MEDIA=gfycat]height=360;id=HarmfulImportantDutchshepherddog;width=640[/MEDIA] BUT... it was a kind of adorable. And the question of course... now will the JSDF intervene or continue to follow orders from back home?

Oh yes, classic Myers & Briggs personality test. I think they do have value as a self-reflection tool. It's easy to get caught up in the routine of life. By that I mean time can fly by quickly when you have full-time commitments with work, family and friends. Doing things like personality tests to me is a refreshing way to sort of pause life for a moment and gain a new perspective as from memory these tests really do force you to reflect on events to answer them. I'll do it sometime soon and report back on my result.

This was a very beautiful episode. Interesting developments from the teacher investigating Hinazuki's house, looking for the dodgy mother. Highlight definitely was seeing Hinazuki overwhelmed with emotion at her beautifully breakfast meal after reflecting on her very bland meals she had under her mother. That combined with all the past abuse that Hinazuki incurred already - and so my eyes really watered there. Ending scene with Satoru, his mother and Hinazuki confronting dodgy mother was awesome. I feel like Satoru is FINALLY kicking ass now - all the interventions that he put in place are finally having an effect.

So as the producer do you keep the team together and upload the releases? I'm curious what duties are involved in this type of project.

I have a feeling no matter what my answer is, it won't satisfy you. I just always look forward to seeing the character warm up. Normally at that point it's a pivotal plot climax change, or at least it means the character is on the way to achieving something for the greater good. Such as, embracing the MC or kicking ass (mecha girl tsunderes). The problem with these terms is there is no explicit standard. To answer your question, I think yes. Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion is a well written character in my opinion. Because she had very valid and strong reasons from her past r(looking at her point of view) to treat Shinji and others around her with such contempt. And then her personality changed, drastically! But I think you're going somewhere with this, if the character changes dramatically due to major plot events after that initial tsundere phase then I guess they're not really a tsundere anymore?

Ah not quite - I was trying to encourage members to attach their images directly to their posts using the Upload a File button. Reason being is if if the image host account the member used closes down in future then of course the images will disappear from their posts. ImageShack was a good example when they removed their free offering. Now having said that, I think there's an attachment manager I could look into installing which lets you browse all the files you've uploaded in all the posts here on Anime Forums. Might look into it if there's any interest.

Akame ga Kill Blu-ray Limited Edition... BUT it arrived DAMAGED from Amazon!!! Outer box damaged .. I normally would let it slide if it was a normal edition but just can't let it slide for a collectors box or limited edition. *Sorry @Akame , my viewing will have to wait :'( I'm in the process of getting a replacement through Amazon.

Hello everyone, This is an update regarding the anime discussion revamp project. I set aside 48 hours to work on this and due to a slight hiccup, that has now elapsed. Rather than keep Anime Forums closed any longer past the 48 hour mark, I decided to reopen it. With this in mind, things are a little messy, and I do apologise in advance for that. But I will be working diligently this coming week to finish this as soon as possible. Whilst a good portion of the revamp was complete there are still: Just over 100 anime forums that need to be migrated and created. Associated threads still need to be split - most of the Currently Airing titles have been done for this aspect. 78 anime listing reviews to archive into their dedicated anime forums when they're ready. Help pages to be updated to reflect the new changes. Everything Else: the remaining anime titles are tucked/cycled in here.
