  1. I played Resident Evil 4 a bit with an HD mod that makes it look much nicer than the regular HD version you can buy. Fun to see how absolutely abysmal I am now at it compared to how well I played it years ago~
  2. @HanaApril Hmmmmm.... When you mention kawaii games two that come to my mind immediately are 100% Orange Juice and Recettear. 100% OJ is basically like a board game and is some silly fun, and pretty cheap to get. You don't have to play it multiplayer, but it is a pretty fun party sort of game with friends. It is however very frustrating at times because when RNG is a core game mechanic (because dice rolls) there can be some very irritating and disappointing times. Also the public lobby names are, well, extremely off putting at times which sorta discourages me from doing public multiplayer occasionally. Recettear pretty much oozes cuteness throughout and is pretty much a bout owning and running a shop, with some dungeon diving too. It's a bit of a time sink though at times and despite being released quite a long time ago it's still about $20. Goes on sale pretty often though. Those are about the only cutesy ones I can think of at the time though, I haven't played a whole lot of positive games recently so to speak.
  3. I can relate to the anxiety problem, I was a perpetual nervous wreck the last two years between a stressful and unnerving job and already having GAD. It's hard to do even fun things when you get really anxious. Anyways! Any particular sorts of genres or content you have a preferance for, or any you can't stand?
  4. Welcome back, I hope you have good times here~
  5. I summoned Selkie in Fire Emblem Heroes, that's pretty much it. I've been waiting for her to get added for one and a half years so I am pretty pleased. Maybe one of these days I can finally get back to playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I still am only on like the 3rd chapter.
  6. Heya, welcome to AF. enjoy your time here~
  7. Not all retirement homes are bad of course, but there are a fair number that are negligent and even abusive. If someone were just sort of dropped off, and not checked on, the remainder of their life could be miserable. It could also just be a deception and retirement homes are the best thing ever, but old people want all the fun to themselves~
  8. Am I the only degenerate who likes alcohol~? I love red wine, a close second is Fireball whiskey~ Out of non-alcoholic things, coffee is my favorite and as for something to drink that actually hydrates me, just plain water~
  9. Frankly it's terrifying for me. I have a lot of hereditary medical issues which only get worse with age. The idea of being unable to feed myself let alone use a phone or computer is nightmare fuel for me. At least I have a niece who I guess you could say looks up to me so she will probably not let me get thrown into a home straight away~
  10. Welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay~
  11. Heya, welcome to the forums~ Everyone here is friendly, so hopefully you will feel right at home~ I would give some suggestions but my memory is hazy, my tastes are garbage, and my experience is limited~
  12. For me the biggest issue are game series that like clockwork have a new game made each year. In that timespan there is no way you are going to see amazing writing or new and exciting gameplay. It'll just be the same gameplay with a few shiny new toys and features, and a story that isn't anything special. Usually! Exceptions do happen and stuff~ If a series has several years between new games in it, generally I find they end up usually meeting or exceeding expectations with both a new world, and improved gameplay. I am fine with continuing series that do this as usually the new installments still feel fresh and interesting. Most Bethesda games did this for me. Keyword "did" because Fallout 76 is... just awful. I maybe am one of the few people on the planet that genuinely enjoyed 4 though. It's dialogue and story were definitely worse but the actual gameplay felt much better to me. I LOVED the prior Fallouts, much moreso than 4, but the gunplay wasn't stellar. But still all things considered, I still enjoyed 4 and appreciated that it made dramatic changes to gameplay. Now, if a game is mainly good from a narrative perspective and such, it definitely should not get too many followup games. A good story deserves a good ending, not to be dragged on until it's story goes from good to garbage. I would say the Uncharted series handled this well. Each game had its own separate story, with the 4th bringing it to its final, decisive conclusion that didnt just conclude that games story, but the main character's story as a whole. Not sure how I feel about a sequal to The Last of Us because it left off on a great note. To summarize my feelings in a few lines; yearly releases are awful, though multiple games in a series is fine when lots of love and care are put in, and it feels new, not recycled.
  13. @Illusion of Terra Yeah the reason I would like philosophy being taught more often is it may help people to think for themselves rather than being told what to think and how to feel about it by other people and institutions. I mean yeah not technically as vital as math and other absolutely necessary things but still, it's nice~ Hmmmm I am not sure if there are any topics I am interested in enough to debate, but if I can think of a good one I will let you know~
  14. That's great, philosophy is awesome~ It feels like it is a bit under appreciated to me. I wish it was taught at schools rather than only college/university. At least that's how it is where I live.
  15. Hello there, welcome to AF, please enjoy your stay~
  16. It was -20°F this morning, not including wind chill. Glad I got a nice coat recently~
  17. Hey there, welcome aboard~! Hope you can enjoy yourself here~
  18. Horrible~ I ate a chocolate out of a box I got for my birthday and it turned out to be coconut. Time to get some whiskey or something to wash it down~
  19. My dogs Bella and Gunner. Nothing like two loyal super doggos by your side~ I was gonna say my AR15 originally but it occurred to me it probably would dislocate my shoulder and leave me deaf upon firing. Well maybe not dislocate my shoulder assuming I was super saiyan but eh my dogs are more fun anyways~
  20. Update; I now am officially the webmaster for the company I work for~ Never thought I would end up doing this, then again I never thought I would investigate sexual harassment and assault either for a living either.
  21. Well this seems fun, I guess I'll try~ 1) Applejuice makes me physically sick. Even just looking at it makes me actually gag. It used to be my favorite juice when I was a kid, but starting at age 15 I had to go once or twice year to get a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy due to a genetic disease. As part of the prep, back then you had to drink the most disgusting damn thing I have ever tasted, phospho soda. I was specifically told to mix it with applejuice to help mask the taste and help prevent dehydration so that's what I did. I guess my brain linked applejuice to tasting horrible and making me sick after years of that. 2) I used go to be extremely allergic to dogs, to the point where if one licked me I had to go to the ER. Cats however didn't affect me at all. Over time though, it reversed. I am not allergic to dogs whatsoever now, but I have a minor cat allergy. It only is an issue if i specifically try to inhale my cat or get drool on me, problem being she REALLY drools a lot when she gets on my lap and gets it all over everywhere. 3) I love guns. I also live in Montana, one of the most gun friendly states in the US which helps with that and may partly be why. I own several and go target shooting time to time, but not particularly often lately although I would really, really like to. Fair warning, bringing up guns in conversation will flip my ramble switch. 3.5) I hate hunting though. That may seem odd, but what I like about guns is the engineering, mechanics, and design of them, not the violent things that they can be used for. Well except for in videogames and such of course, but that's entirely different. But while I hate hunting, my favorite foods are all meat based... 4) I absolutely love deadpan humor. Saying horrifying and outrageous things with a deadpan tone and expression is one of my favorite things to do. Also a great way to either immediately drive someone away or find something in common with them if they appreciate it. 5) I really like usinge tildes as punctuation, unless I am being particularly serious or giving an explanation~
  22. Howdy, I hope you have good times here~
  23. I only ever used MAL specifically for keeping track of anime. I have been here for 4 or 5 years though, and albeit while I haven't been very active recent years, when I have been active it was a very close and friendly community. Very rarely have I seen actual conflict, and more often than not everyone is friendly. So far I have had nothing but good times here.
