  1. Started Dr. Stone. Going to run thru the first season, then wait. I was going to wait for the end like I usually do but I couldn't resist the lure of an anime with a tech tree.
  2. Today is xmas shopping.  Especially for my brother and his family in WIsconsin I need to get something shipped today or tomorrow!

      is your nausea/vertigo gone though?

Yes.  The vertigo is mostly gone, though I can still do things to trigger it if I want a few seconds of merry-go-round.  Fortunately those things are easily avoided.  :)

  4. No idea yet. I'm usually at least a season behind, binge-watching the last season and whatever else takes my fancy. Right now I'm still waiting for Bookworm to finish so that's about where I am in the greater flow of anime. Of the ones you listed I kind of liked Yuru Camp so Heya will probably get a watch. I've also heard of one called Koisuru Shouwakusei coming up. Not sure when it is coming out but it is astronomy-themed and sounds vaguely like Sora no Manimani, which I kind of liked. I'll probably check that out. Other than that.. not a clue. Nothing's really grabbed my fancy in the last few seasons. SF seems to have taken a back seat to .. pretty much everything else really. Not that I'd mind another Mahoutsukai no Yome of course, but that's not happening either.
  5. Well, I'm sure it said something different in the official topic title... but who reads those? I just remember a lot of cake, and pie, and some tea. Cookies too. It was probably not a healthy topic, but it tasted good.
  6. That's really vague. You could try something like the anime characters database. Note the filters down the left. Using the hair & eye color, gender, etc. you should be able to narrow a character search down to maybe a couple dozen. Few enough to scroll through in a few minutes. I've used it before with some success. Good luck!
  7. I dunno... there's that cake topic after all. You sure you didn't typo "3/2's"?
  8. Bunny girl senpai. Liked the Koga ending. Midway thru the Futaba arc.. looks like it might be good too.
  9. There's some deranged modders out there.... ... not that I have a problem with that.
  10. If by Haru you mean Takumi Hira, well, it isn't like I don't agree, at least in part. His part in the whole thing was a bit sad/tragic. However, as you yourself said, it doesn't work unless it goes both ways, and it isn't like Akane doesn't like Kotarou and him her. In fact, quite the opposite! I think it better that they get together than Akane and Takumi get together and then Akane spend all her time wondering what she's missed, and/or Takumi spending time hating himself for being selfish. (Or worse, Akane hating him for not!) And at the core, if he really loved her that much then he should have said something a long time ago. Who knows, he might even have avoided the whole problem! Even - especially! - if he does love her now then really, what choice does he have except to let her go? No, it really has to be Akane and Kotarou. Anyway, in my mind there's a second season or OVA somewhere where Chinatsu and Takumi get together so it all works out for the best after all.
  11. Woke up early Saturday so dizzy I could hardly stand.  Turns out there's a loose stone in my head (who knew?) that's rattling around in my inner ear and affecting my balance.  Got some medicine from the doctor, but it knocks me out.  So my choices for this weekend have been either sleep or feeling like I just got off a slightly too-long ride on a playground merry-go-round.

On the plus side, it is quite a bit better today than yesterday.  This morning the room was not spinning when I woke up like yesterday, and in fact I've found that if I keep my head still then I'm pretty much ok.  It is only when I tilt or rotate my head that I get in trouble.  I managed to - carefully - do a bit of laundry today and I'm watching TV, but unfortunately the xmas shopping and decorating I'd had planned for this weekend was not to be.  Things like driving a car and climbing on ladders don't sound like things I should be attempting at the moment.

man what a bummer, especially since it's so unexpected. Hope it goes away quickly!

I'm interested though, you said something about a stone in your inner ear. Do you know what it's made of or how it formed?

@Illusion of Terra the stones in question are calcium carbonate crystals.  They apparently are part of structures (otolith organs) in the ear that let your ear detect head orientation.  For a variety of reasons they can occasionally become dislodged and interfere with the process.  They listed a few - head trauma, disease - but none seemed applicable in my case.  I'm old enough that it may just be they're wearing out and breaking down after all these years.

  12. Oresuki. Is it just me or do the flowers in Pansy's braids look a bit like skull-and-crossbones? This one isn't going to turn out like School Days, is it?
  13. It is on my list, but it is on hold until the season ends & I can binge the whole thing. I've only watched about 3 episodes.. just enough to put it on my list.
  14. Same here. I post stuff there, but I'm almost immediately distracted and wander away. I've never been good at just hanging out in the realtime chat room either. If I could clone myself and have one of me dedicated to monitoring discord then it might be useful/etertaining, but there's just too much competition for my attention from other stuff. I prefer forums where everyone can just read and post stuff on their own schedule.
  15. I do that too and it was one of the reasons I got the reader Boox that I did. It essentially has a built-in Wacom tablet. There are a number of other readers that also have built-in note-taking abilities as well, but the reader that I picked is one of those that actually lets you write in the margins of your e-books.
  16. This looks like it'll be fun...

  17. Hello and welcome! Stuff like YYH isn't my thing, but for (the original) FLCL.
  18. And of course less than a year after I buy my Boox somebody goes and invents a color e-ink display...
  19. Not exactly watching *now* but over the holiday weekend I binged Kami-Nai and Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo. Both were rewatches. Both still decent. Really like the OP for The Third.
  20. @xnaylynn Hello, Ren. Welcome! Any fan of Trigun can't be all bad.
