  1. Do you consider yourself a funny person, as in how good is your sense of humor?
  2. Would you compare yourself to Scrooge from A Christmas Carol? Do you hate Christmas? If so, why, you monster?!
  3. Oh, for shame! You're missing out on a big world out there, gal! Obligatory naming question: Why Sekkarou?
  4. Toughest thing you had to do as a moderator?
  5. So I'm thinking of making a product similar to Flubber (that green sentient goop that bounces everywhere) and naming it "zoop". Would you be okay with that?

    Ask Zin

Do you ever get people who come up to you and say, "Zing!" If not, would you be annoyed if someone does?
  7. What's your most frustrating moment while working?
  8. Sorry I missed this question. Was intending to put it off because I wanted to give a proper reply, which would have taken some time to write... Favorite route... God, it's been a long time. I think I really liked Kotomi's route. She has the best ending of all. Fuko's route comes close due to the feels-factor. lol Maybe Nagisa's main "After Story" route would be third due to all the little things I liked about it (the realism, the spotlight on a young adult working his butt off for his kid, Ushio, etc.). Honestly, I can't really remember. I mean, my favorite girl in there is either Fuko or Kyou (Tomoyo is a very close third choice), but I can't remember much of Kyou's route more than I could remember Kotomi's route (probably due to how distinct Kotomi's ending was). Like I said, it's been a long time. Sorry if my answer isn't satisfactory. My memory sucks.
  9. Would you rather hang out with the cool crowd or the friendly (but not as cool) crowd? Say that the friendly crowd is kinda boring, has interests that you don't share; would you join the cool elitists instead?
  10. Yes. I have a thing for ponytails. :3
  11. I've already explained why I chose this name on the first page, but damn, the more I look at it, the weirder it looks. "Orius". How do you even pronounce that? Ugh. If only you could buy a username-change in the AF Shop.
  12. I'm the sentimental type, so I do think print has something valuable digital copies will never have. That feel of the page as you flip away is something special. There are other benefits too, like how the contrast and coloring are closer to what the mangaka had intended in print than digital (the latter of which would probably be affected by brightness-adjustment and the such more so than the former). You also get that cool wraparound skin a lot of manga have. Finally, digital copies can sometimes ruin the surprise earlier than intended when their page-layout isn't adjusted properly (like how you sometimes have to flip a page to find out what the monster look like). Also, it's just kinda cooler to express yourself what kind of manga you're reading in the public when you're holding it up for everyone to see, something you can't really do with an iPad or an iPhone. What? I'm proud of my inner-otaku...
  13. Okay, so I broke. lol Fell asleep just now earlier than I wanted, at about 10 or 11am. :P

  14. Well, it's no skin off my back, as long as the game gets moving through a kill or vote. But it's productive of Tanya (Kirry) to move things along; you humans honestly take way too long to decide on things. I'll never understand you. OOC: For clarity's sake, I'll be listing the voted names everytime someone has voted. Helps make it easier to count at the end of the round too. zin - 1
  15. God, I hate spoilers! Should've known better than to Google a game I haven't completed (in this case, VLR). Dammit! D:

  16. To be fair, Scrooge's strategy was brilliant, and one that I would've used had I came up with it too (and if I'm one of the players). I thought it was a good tactic to figure out the Traitor by making them slip up in the PM. If they just say something, even a single word that suggests that he's a Traitor, it would give an important clue. In more recent Mafia games which were updated and modified, there are usually "detective" roles who takes a more specialized task of figuring out the Traitor's identity than the average Civilian. He would usually be given one clue to the Traitor's identity, but what Scrooge has done here, Scrooge has practically set out to search for clues on their own, saving me the trouble of assigning such a role in the first place.
  17. Also, you have to take into account that it isn't always the mangaka who styles the text, due to the translation being written by someone equivalent of a fansub team, even if you're reading official translations. Personally, I rarely had problems, if at all, with the contrast with subtitles. The only time when such problem arises is with the karaoke effects in the opening and ending themes.
  18. Actually, I would say the same about manga. With manga, you're at the mercy of whoever draws the picture and styles the text. Again, this is my own opinion, but the art style of certain manga (especially shounen manga that goes over-the-top with their drawings) can be really hard to figure out, with all those flying kicks and punches spewed everywhere across the pages. The addition of text on those messy drawings doesn't help.
  19. The local comic book store (used to be "Comics Connection", now it's "Kinokuniya") always has a few manga I would like to read. They even do pre-order for you, Kinokuniya. But of course, the manga you want to read isn't always available, in which case, there's online purchase. But damn, that can be really expensive with the shipping fee from the US to Singapore. A justified excuse for piracy, me thinks...
  20. Looks like I'm the only one who thinks reading takes too long. lol I take a much longer time reading manga than I do reading subtitles for some reason. One reason has to do with how everything is black and white, so I have to figure out what's happening in the scene, especially if the mangaka's brush-strokes make the drawing obtuse. With animation, due to the movement of the characters, it's easier to figure out what's going on. Ironically, visual novels have no such problems with me, so it's not so much having to do with reading than it is to do with the art style of manga.
  21. Now, now, let's keep it civilized. It's just a game. We don't need our first game on AF going down in flames. I could overlook calling out suspicions on others, but name-calling ("cowardly") is uncalled for, zoop.
  22. I just hope the game doesn't move on without a single vote. lol Oh well. Someone's still gonna die whether if there's a vote or not.

    Favorite Movie

I rewatched some of the scenes to this, and it feels like a really underrated film that might have been misjudged (me being one of those naysayers back then). I'm planning to rewatch this in the near future to give it a proper assessment. I also plan to write a really length post discussing in length the 20 movies I mentioned above, one part because I feel like it's something I need to state for posterity, and another part because I just love talking about my favorite movies. That said, for now, I'll just throw another movie about robots out there: Ex Machina. Amazing and highly intelligent thriller with a great plot twist. It's one of the few movies I would actually call a masterpiece. I remember giving it 5 out of 5 with full satisfaction.
  24. lol Looks like I've stayed up for nothing today. The forum's less active than I anticipated.

I guess it might be because nobody really has much to talk about. Kind of strange, since I am usually bugged by email notifications.

I've turned off that, fortunately, since there'll be tons of notifications spamming my inbox otherwise. Then again, I rarely check my mail, so it's hardly a problem either. :P

I check my email regularly, due to ordering stuff online, tracking subscriptions, and notices from my web host. I should probably turn off email notices too.
