  1. I was pretty big into Marvel comics from the late 70’s through the 90’s, primarily the Spider-Man & X-men related titles. I remember the first appearance of characters like Cloak & Dagger and Hobgoblin, Apocalypse, Deadpool & Cable. And storylines like Days of Future Past, Kraven’s Last Hunt, Secret Wars & Infinity Gauntlet. I never really got into DC comics though I liked Batman the Animated series. The only alternative title I was really into was Wendy & Richard Pini’s Elfquest. For me, comics largely fell by the wayside once I started collecting anime tapes/discs in the mid/late 90’s (simply a matter of free time & money, especially with video games also in the mix).
  2. Episode77 part of the Greed Island arc. Gon & Killua fight some cyclops.
  3. Gegege no Kitaro - focuses on yokai. The stories usually have a “lesson” behind them & there are some horrr elements, but there is a lot of comedy as well and most characters are cartoonish in appearance. Princess Resurection is a supernatural harem series that pays homage to a lot of horror movie tropes. Rosario Vampire is an ecchi harem series with various monsters. And Karin (aka Chibi Vampire) is a cute romcom with a family of vampires. Finally, I’d like to add my approval to Interviews with Monster Girls & Flying Witch
  4. I just finished watching Castle of Cagliostro for the first time (despite the fact that I've been watching anime for decades, there are still some "classics" I've never seen). I haven't really been a fan of Lupin III, but I enjoyed this. And never underesitmate Fujiko
  5. Here are some of mine As you can see, I was mostly into RPGs, but I also enjoy Capcom fighters (Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers, Marvel) and a lot of the classic 2D platformers (Mario & Sonic). Also the Castlevania games. Most of what I play anymore are on my DS, though I'm thinking of getting a Switch. I still have most of my old systems: Genesis/Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Cube, PS1 & 2, XBox 360 (I loaned my SNES to my sister when she went off to college & it went MIA)
  6. Now that I'm caught up with Attack on Titan , I've started watching Is it Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon? in addition to my weekly streaming series.
  7. I always think of Perfect Blue & Paranoia Agent when it comes to mystery & suspense. And Monster would be great except you can't find it anywhere.
  8. If I could make a suggestion, maybe try Mob Psycho 100 Mob vs Koyama - Full Fight HD | Mob Psycho 100 - YouTube
  9. Planet With Star Blazers 2199 & 2202 Beautiful Bones Gegege no Kitaro (2018) Ushio & Tora tv series Louie the Rune Soldier Figure 17 R.O.D. (OVA & TV) Magic Knight Rayearth Shiki Mushishi Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens Azumanga Daioh School Rumble
  10. The only anime soundtrack I actually own is from Project A-ko https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqeBczWe_04
  11. Kinda sounds like Night on the Galactic Railroad, but not really
  12. A Place Further than the Universe Figure 17 Fantastic Children The Ancient Magus Bride OVA (was disappointed by the regular series) Star Blazers 2199 & 2102 Movies: Mary & the Witch's Flower; Children who chase Lost Voices; Patema Inverted
  13. Almost finished with Attack on Titan season 2. I had put the series on hold after season 1, but have heard some fairly positive things about the currently airing season, so I decided to dive back in. The current season of anime has been fairly weak IMO, but there are some series I'm enjoying somewhat: Planet With, Gegege no Kitaro, Overlord season 3, My Hero Academia season 3 (though I'm not really liking the Licensing Exam arc). I was watching the remake of Star Blazers 2202 (and enjoying it) until it went on hiatus.
  14. Since you enjoyed One Punch Man, maybe try Mob Psycho 100. It has a similar art style & tongue-in-cheek manner (think it might actially be by the same writer)
  15. I started out with Star Blazers & Galaxy Express 999 and then series like Robotech, Voltron, Tranzor Z. When I moved on to unedited anime, it was series like Ranma 1/2, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo.
  16. My intro to anime was Star Blazers in the late 70's, early 80's which would have been when I was around 10 - 12. I didn't really get exposed to the un-edited stuff until the mid/late 90's when I actually had a job that let me buy VHS tapes/DVDs. So I've been around this stuff for awhile
  17. ^ This is actually a better picture (sorry, but I couldn't figure out how to edit my previous post)
  18. Maybe 6 hrs a night, though I should really get more
  19. My preference is subtitled, though there are a few rare series where I prefer the dub.
  20. Sounds like Requiem from the Darkness
