Its "an alternate history retelling of the early Space Race from the POV of the Soviet Union". I haven't watched them yet myself, but you have spurred my interest in this field now so its in my PTW. Have you seen Psycho Pass? https://myanimelist.net/anime/13601/Psycho-Pass It has been out for a while, but perhaps it wasn't on your radar. The sci fi themes here are very intriguing, though I am not qualified to say how possible they are, so you'll have to take a look. There are cyborgs, humans who live on past their normal life length being preserved for around an extra lifetime in duration by technology, having cybernetic bodies and preserving their brains. However, their brains must continue to be stimulated or it would deteriorate more rapidly. There are other components to this sci fi world, but they seem to be within reason. Let me know what you think of this rec.

@Serge heartless if you haven't caught up, nows the time. Remember when we were all guessing about Dekus future and a healer that could make him 100% again.. I think we've found one, in a weird, unconventional way. That aside, I really appreciate Lemillion as a character about 100 times more now. I hope he gets his quirk back. Eri can probably save him. Ohayo Jambles! What shows are you currently enjoying?

The VRMMORPG of endless possibilities! This anime shows a very realistic looking MMORPG with an added twist. The in game characters are subject to eternal death if they are killed during a failed mission or simply by ignoring a side quest that comes up for your party. The world building is more thoughtful than the other currently airing, Bofuri, but thats because this is a more plot focused show. Although there are some good comedic elements, its proving to be a serious attempt at capturing the life of a vrmmo and the soul of an rpg. So far by episode 2 we have met the Main characters and a few recurring side characters. My first impression of them is good, and I feel that this is going to be a fun series to continue watching, simply for the enjoyment of exploring the game world with these characters.

I'm not a fan of the chat comments. Its very stalkerish. I think they need to quit while they are ahead on that bit. It served its purpose.. Yes we know she is a newbie getting attention from the gaming community. Enough already , its starting to look creepy

A lot more seasonals than I meant to Bofuri, Toilet bound Hanako kun, Infinite Dendrogram, and MHA. While trying to fill in the gaps with some others on my plan to watch list. Continuing Chihayafuru 2, and Psycho Pass 3, might start heya camp as well.

Bofuri is the newest game Anime to release this season, and it's already proving to be really fun. The story starts off with a newbie character who picks the name Maple to play in this VRMMO that her best friend begged her to get. Since she has no game experience and no one to walk her through the process she sort of makes up her own way of playing in this world, and dramatically creates situations that most players would never encounter. Its hilarious to witness and incredibly entertaining to see this characters antics vs the game style that most experienced players would choose. They also keep the pace up in this show and pack a lot in 1 episode, and yet it doesn't come off as rushed since its more laid back. If you want something serious, I suggest picking up shield hero, but if you just want to relax and have a bit of fun, this series will hit the spot. What do you think about it?

I could guess that would happen with the statement from Taichi that he and Wataya both think of Chihaya as belonging to them both I cant believe he accepts that.. But I guess Im in for some excitement in the future

I'm only on season 2, but I agree with wataya and chihaya for master and queen. Seems like Taichi and Chihaya are the obvious ship, but thats my personal favorite couple as well. Taichi might be a future contender for tha Master title, since learning from Wataya that a caruta master doesnt have to have natural talent but like I said, I'm only speculating since I'm only on season 2. Cant wait to catch up to season 3!

GOAT? There are certainly some masterpieces that I have rated as such. Some would have to say Death Note, as it is just as popular today as it ever was, whereas some other once hyped anime have since lost their sheen (looking at you Naruto) I would say Vinland Saga is a contender. Though many would shoot this down for it not being a traditional style anime, as it has very little connection to the beloved culture many anime lovers grow to love, and though it has some shounen aspects here and there, certainly doesnt appeal overall in that very dominant genre. Regardless, its a masterfully done anime with a well developed story and doesnt have any adaptation problems so far. Its been worked on by Wit studios, and their animators show their experience in the set up of the dramatic action scenes as well as the top tier op and eds.

I definitely have Vinland Saga as my #1 for the year, then Shield Hero, and then Demon Slayer.. Just so you know you're not alone in your thinking. Askellad was a treasure in this series, and I do believe he was the MC of this arc, not Thotfinn, although later on in the series, I believe Thorfinn will have a more central and impactful role. I cant wait to see what the true meaning of "Vinland Saga" really is.

What did you think of Saiki? I cant wait to start it I have a ton on my watching and plan to watch right now, but hope to give it a go soon.

Since you liked Gintama, I agree with Ohiotaku that you would probably like Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi. It is a martial arts anime with a good underdog story, plenty of comedy coming at you from all sides, and a well written story of the MC, Kenichi becoming "the mightiest disciple". Very entertaining stuff here check it out I think youll have fun with it.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to everyone. I hope you've all been well. This season tends to get especially busy for some, but I hope you can stop during the rush of it all and remember to enjoy the special moments. For me, those are the little moments of sharing something new with someone you love. It's getting to snuggle up in my cozy new throw that I bought myself for christmas.
