  1. There are so many anime genres, and sub genres, but I wanted to poll what our forum members watch mostly. It will be interesting to see the fan base for certain genres here.
  2. So to go along with the year old thread that I just necrod, what are some crazy attempts, or at least memorable, attempts that you made to recreate foods that you thought you saw in anime? For example: I was always hungry after watching kids scarf down rice balls in anime, and as a kid myself, long before realizing I could google recipes to learn how to cook things, I just made my best guess I cooked a pot of rice (not even the sticky kind) because we didn't have that, no... so I squeezed rice together into a cute little (tiny) but edible football shape And smothered it with honey. Yum!! But later on I realized that they use more umami flavors rather than sweet with rice balls Oh well. Anyone else do this?
  3. Then try it like this: And someone also mentioned Dango as being gross, and raw dough.. you were supposed to cook it!!
  4. Thanks so much for sharing Ga-Rei Zero OP!!!! Now I have a new anime to check out! That was awesome. I also just remembered Yuy Yuu Hakusho had a good op!
  5. I'd love to be part of a questing anime world, like Fairy Tail, or One Piece, though I didn't finish either anime, I liked their worlds, despite disliking some of the plots in the series, if it was real life I could choose my own quests. That, or just live in an anime where I was a normal human, but in Japan.. yes, life would be more full for me in Japan, drinking tea in a tea house and growing up with martial arts (preferably taught in the home) and at school.
  6. Haven't thought about this in years! Here are some I remember enjoying: Hahime no Ippo: First KO by: under star My hero Academia Inuyasha ed 2: Blue Exorcist op 2: Claymore Berserk op Bleach op 6: Rurouni kenshin :
  7. I have found his transformation from trusting to distrusting pretty legit. I think he's putting up a pretty big barrier to keep most people away from him so he doesn't get let down again when his ideals of true compassion are found to be false.
  8. Thanks for the reminder to watch today It sure was an interesting episode! I wish it didn't end the way it did, I wanted some more dialogue. Guess we'll see if Naofumi is convinced she isn't like her sister in the next episode, or if he's going to toss an opportunity out the window over fear. Do you think he's right to question her character? I think she's superior to her sister and is actually honest/ truth seeking.
  9. Hey, welcome to the forum. I used to love Gravitation, been a while since I've read the manga, but it's a good Yaoi if you haven't heard of it (though you probably have). I also LOVE shounen genre - all of my fav anime are shounen. Currently watching Rising of the Shield Hero, It's still airing in Japan, but im trying to keep up with it. I haven't seen your fav shounens. some of my favs: My Hero Academia, Trigun, Hajime no ippo, Histories strongest disciple Kenichi, Haikyu! welcome
  10. I think it would be nice to see a pinned post for topics like "what anime is this?" so that every time I look in the "anime" thread, to find potentionally interesting topics I don't see a bunch of the same topic of that question. Instead, it could be an ongoing discussion in one thread, titled "what anime is this" or something similar.
  11. Wraithkun, I also loved Naruto growing up, the awesome power and character development was cool - I agree with some previous recommendations: My Hero Academia will get you that same hype for sure! It's currently my new favorite. Inuyasha is an old favorite from childhood as well, and you may like Attack on Titan, though I've only seen the trailer to season 3. (That's what's I base that opinion on) it's on my to watch list. Id also recommend some that weren't mentioned but that fall into the same category that you may love: Hajime no Ippo is a boxing anime that Stars a bullied teen who becomes a pro boxer . It has super hype fighting and training scenes. Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi is about a weak kid who learns martial arts from masters of different disciplines in a crazy dojo. And finally there's Haikyu! It's a volley ball anime but it's also a shounen, so you'll probably love it too.
  12. Yes that does make sense, I remember the slave trader saying something like that. However, I still beleive that powerful shard (which reminds me of the Shikon Jewl in Inuyasha) could lead her to have dark power. I think they've leveled up enough for the 2nd wave, it needs to hurry up and get to that
  13. Perfect, sounds good to me. Thank you for the input. I'm a sucker for a straightforward world, wouldn't it be nice if real life was that easy.
  14. You love Kikyo too 😍

Id love to cosplay her one day

Hopefully in a far less tragic way, and in more of a love for beautiful kimonos and long bows sort of way - but no judgement here 😊

A bit of both to be honest but it's okay,  just part of life for some people.

  15. Hey that's cool that you're watching dub right now, I'm trying to find more good dubs to watch rn and it is challenging with my limited taste What did you like about Flying witch if you don't mind me asking? I thought about checking it out yesterday, but haven't made the decision yet.
  16. I'm pretty picky with shows that I'll watch, sometimes dropping them halfway through for lack of interest of because I don't like the way the series is going... That being said I'm having a hard time finding new anime that I like, besides rewatching old classics. For now I am only watching Rising of the Shield hero while I wait for season 2 of My hero academia and season 4 of Haikyu! Just tried to watch K-On! Again, couldn't get into it. Also watched ep 1 of Sword art online & realized why I've been avoiding it for the past 5 years.
  17. I've been enjoying rewatching the episodes so far in English (so I can share it with my hubby). One thing that has peaked my interest since I have rewatched it, is seeing the Queen of the so far crooked kingdom - hidden in her chaimber as if waiting to make her move. I can't wait to see what she is going to do with all of this intel she's collecting! The view of Filo in a suggestive role keeps undermining the ideal of the series for me, it just cheapens it for me, and I'm really hoping it is put to an end soon. loving Naofumi's transformations as the series Ian progressing, he's still in the party forming and adventuring stage, just like in any game, he's going to work on developing his skills and helping the people he comes across. I'm still finding this very interesting, and if as you say there's a dark plot coming, as long as it's not having to do with children being sexualized - I'm glad that it will continue to surprise me
  18. I definitely would, it is very gorey, and has some suggestive themes, but it doesn't go over the top in sexual things, so it's fairly safe there. the story is great, and the main character is awesome.
  19. The most messed up anime that I could bring myself to finish was Berserk
  20. I absolutely love your style @SAO LILDOOP reading it from the rhythm is like listening to a Linkin Park song, used to by my jam in high school. I also love how you tied in all the pain from the intro into a call to action there at the end, nice and uplifting.
  21. When does this change from "new as f***" member to "new member"?
  22. That's cool, I've never seen a sumo anime! I'll have to check it out, kinda vibin Naruto a bit, don't care for the song tho. So I've been a bit off topic this whole time so I'm gonna say I like the OP for Rising of the shield hero Surprise.. Im also sure that by the time My hero academia is released, it will have an even better OP too.
  23. @Ohiotaku those bass lines are killer, but that dudes voice kills it Aside, have you heard Claymores OP? Similar bass line, but sweet lyricist as well
  24. The song itself reminds me of "Ichirin no Hana" from Bleach ST. I liked t, but it wasn't my fave. Feels kind of angsty, it's just not my thing. The song and mood set by the animes background, story and the scenes that are chosen for the OP itself are just as important to me, so personally, it just goes along with general taste in anime. I like more songs like "First KO" by under star from Hajime no Ippo, because of the training behind it which gives it depth and the 3rd OP In My hero academia (although since I love that anime all of the OPs were good), that one and the first one gave me the most feels.
