@HanaApril I have friends and family with similar views. I just want you to know that although there are rotten hunters out there that kill or maim for sport, and don't care for the environment in the least or the creatures that inhabit it. The hunters I admire respect and maintain the old way of life, wishing to preserve natural resources, and provide ideal environments for the growth of different species and respectfully harvest them as a part of the circle of life. Hunting, when done properly, is by far the most humane way to take an animal for food. Not to mention they are healthier when harvested in he wild. Shopping at supermarkets and fast food chains are the real hinderences to nature and harmful to the animals and environment when we allow our food to be mass produced in tight quarters not allowing animals to live their natural lives, and only live to be slaughtered. So I can agree to an extent that not all hunters respect wildlife, those are usually poachers. Real hunters take care of the environment and wish to hunt humanely.

I too am in a great mood this morning! Maybe it's the fact that I'm going to be an aunty later today?!?!

@ArchieKun Ive also got wilderness survival guides and the southeastern guide to edible plants. Need to go use them They've been collecting dust. But I think I'll start taking my daughter out and we can use it for some fun outings together to learn new things.

@Beocat Scuba terrifies me My worst fear is drowning. I have a friend that I used to gig flounder with and I got pretty good at it. Now I need my own John boat & light set up. I just bought my hubby a 40lb recurve bow for Christmas so he can hunt deer, he used to own a long bow as a child & missed the feeling of shooting a bow. It's too much for me to handle presently. I'd need to work up to the poundage and learn proper form. I'd love to learn to make my own arrows. I was in the Marine Corps for 4 years & an expert marksman with the M16. I know my skill is high enough for hunting with a rifle, but I do need to practice with my new shotgun before turkey season opens. My greatest challenge has been finding private land to hunt, since I'm new to the area and to hunting I don't have many country folk in my contacts.

I just recently rewatched Spirited Away, this time with my 2yo daughter, and so this time I was paying more attention to some of the meanings that were under the surface of the movie. I loved that Miyazaki made the river spirit sick with the sludge and pollution from the river. I couldn't help but wonder what other messages he hid in the movie throughout the story. A lot of his movies have pretty intricate stories that have a lot of character and overal depth. What were some of these instances that you may have noticed when watching this movie? Another question that struck me was, what does "no face" symbolize? Anyone have a theory about that? I know this is an old movie, so this discussion has likely taken place over time, but art is always up to individual interpretation, that's what I love about the arts, (music in particular). So please share your interpretations from Spirited Away.

I'm interested in learning these skills, taking in information a lot, but rarely have the occasion to use them. Getting my hunting license for this coming season, to at least start hunting for a bit of our meat. I live in NC (USA), on the coast, plenty of fishing opportunities, and duck hunting, turkey, deer and feral pig hunting. But I wish I lived in the mountains instead. Hopefully we will move there after we sell our house. Right now I can't do as much until my daughter gets to be at least 4, so I've got a couple more years til we can be fishing again, and taking her on the hunt. Anyone else interested in this lifestyle? What are your favorite aspects of this type of living? What do you like to do?

Phase 10 is like yatzee with cards. If y'all like uno and other old card games, phase 10 is fun

Granted, but every time there was an earthquake the world would break off into space a bit. I wish I could sail on a pirate ship with Luffy

@ArchieKun @SanguineTear @Nono @HanaApril You guys need to jump into the adult games and get on Catan - love you tho.. you stuck in the past still with board games

@efaardvark I really hope you can make some small changes here and there to better take care of yourself and your needs (aside from money).. that's an obvious need. maybe find some way to recharge so you're not zapped all the time. Pick up a new hobby that keeps you active, because as strange as it sounds, the more active you are the more energy you have.

Alrighty then

Granted, but it was also like Sword Art Online. I wish I had the super power of flight

What are some of the best board games you've played, miss playing or play all the time? For a while I'd play Settlers of Catan every night. Been hard to play lately with my toddler around! But we still play occasionally. As far as group game nights go, I've found Codenames to be extremely funny. Some of your faves?

Your work situation sounds just like my husband.. I'm always trying to get him to make new friends, it's just hard when you work all week and want to get things done at home on the weekends, it really doesn't leave much time for most working people to make friends outside of work. I try to get my friends with hubbies to have outings together.. so far we have a few game nights, so connecting is a possibility for him, but keeping up relationships Is a lot of work for anyone. Even myself, though I'm a stay at home mom, I find it hard to always be social, I'm more of a homebody. I love the feeling of coming on in front home after a long day out. So if I'm having an busy week, I'm less likely to want to see friends. I came by my circle of friends pretty fortunately by connections with family. My sister in laws old best friend became a close friend of mine once I became a SAHM, due to her generosity and experience. Then my circle widened with other moms in the area. My other close friend is my sisters boyfriends sister, and we met and just hit it off due to common interests when we threw my sister a baby shower The hardest thing for me is to keep friends, life changes tend to move me away from friends all the time, so I think of friends as changing with the seasons of life. We need funfriends when we are small, someone to stand by us when we are Learning and growing, and people to laugh with us and bring joy when we are on our own. One or two friends can't be all of the things that we need, so hopefully as life goes on we can make many.

What anime should have gotten another season?
Seshi replied to Illusion of Terra's topic in Anime Discussion

@leyley don't you think Sakura was a string og character? Also there were many other strong female fighters in Naruto throughout the series. Though since Naruto and several other anime you mentioned were geared towards the male gender being Shounen anime, the main character just makes sense to be male. Other anime with strong female characters: Inuyasha had Kagome, Kikyo and Sango; all strong in their own way. I watch a lot of Shounen, it's my fav sub-genre. So maybe I don't have that many others to recommend But they do exist. My pet peve is a lot like @Illusion of Terra I don't like the way fan service cheapens the anime.

Claymore! Though they butchered the "ending" so it's not congruent with the manga.. so they'd have some fixing to do. -
Camping with friends at a nearby national park, or beach? Get a group of your friends together for a memorable weekend camp out!

Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth. I love this, but what if coffee just prepares you for the bitterness of the world? I take my cream and sugar with a side of coffee ️ And @leinwandname I loved reading Voltaire and Rousseau on the Lisbon disaster.

@HanaApril @ArchieKun I'm glad you guys are having a good day! Im trying to muster up the excitement required to clean my cluttered kitchen mess. When the house is too cluttered it gets overwhelming I know I'm having a good day emotionally, but physically and mentally drained atm. Finally cleaned my kitchen, thank God, now I can cook again

@ArchieKun I think if you watched episode 6 you'd like the show a bit more, up until then it was a bit less serious. It tends to meander off the main plot line a bit every few episodes and gets a little silly, but every few episodes it goes back on to the plot and peaks my interest again.
