    Stay safe

    Yeah, I think its a good opportunity to enjoy going outside, walking, hiking, solo activities. Learn a new hobby. Try not to let yourself get to down having to do less. It just forces you to look outside the box
  2. I LOVE OREO ICECREAM. Addictions. haha, if I eat them on their own, usually twist and lick. Got to savor that experience guys!
  3. wow, my computer lagged.... "Banff Springs Hotel, room 873 — it’s allegedly been sealed off after renovations and hotel management have long denied that the hotel is haunted. Legend has it long ago, a family was brutally murdered in the room, but when the police investigation was finished, the room was redecorated and opened up to guests. That didn’t last long. People staying in room 873 have reported being woken up in the middle of the night to screams, flickering lights, and the sight of bloody hand prints on the walls and mirrors of the room." They do haunted tours there too. I touched the wall that is supposedly sealed over haha, also spoke to a manager who was walking by at the time, he said its a myth. There are other stories from that hotel though. Have you ever lost something so important to you, that you haven't been able to get over it?
  4. Welcome to AF!!! Hope you enjoy it here. I'm not cool enough to know what bandori is. Enlighten me? @1xa5
  5. There was a news broadcast that mentioned tylenol was a better medication than ibuprofen for fevers (which is already known).....and now the stores are sold out of tylenol. My friend is having difficulty finding children's tylenol also, as someone who is allergic to NSAIDs (allergy to ibuprofen, aspirin...midol...) I'm annoyed that people would go out of the way to clear shelves of it....why? =-=; I haven't needed to buy tylenol for like a year...You can't even take over a certain amount per day. Anyways...little vent haha
  6. That's really incredible of you! Take those proper precautions, gloves, sanitizing things that have been touched. I agree though, the feeling of dread really is becoming more palpable. I was discussing this with my mom the other day actually. Some people aren't taking the virus serious enough to monitor what they are cleaning, how they are handling themselves, are you blocking that cough? And then, you start to notice the numbers rise as the people start getting ill closer and closer to where you live, and then its there and you start to see transportation change, companies closing down, numbers rise...and it hits you that the chances of getting sick are higher. I was getting annoyed the other day because our debit/credit machine went down and my friend was using her phone with square to take payments and I told her multiple times to sanitize her phone before putting it to her ear to talk to people. People are just so bad at changing their habits. Its like working in a restaurant and remembering to put gloves on before you handle food. If you've never had such an occupation the first few days are going to involve a lot of mental faculties to put those gloves on...once you get more inclined it becomes second nature. Not enough thought over their actions. Like you, I am glad I have also emergency funds. I can't imagine families who are now out of work and have kids to take care of with no day cares and or family there to support them. Be safe friends
  7. Canada has gotten worse - mainly those who are being laid off from their companies because of the outbreak. Gold: Toilet paper, hand sanitizer Silver: Canned goods, water bottles, pre-packed meals People are self isolating, BC, AB and ON are the worst. The grocery stores have created person limits on certain items and are only allowing a certain amount of people in the store at a time. Most businesses have closed, all gov. places are closed, workout places and schools are closed. Some store/restaurants are open but at limited capacities. Borders are closed, states border is closing on Monday. It's being managed but its going to suck for businesses because social distancing is being pushed really hard. The company I am managing is focusing on delivering services so they can stay open. I won't lie, I am nervous about people being around me because I have older family. But, its more of a matter of washing my hands like crazy and not touching my hands. There are companies offering free food, and drop off services for food and necessities to affected families here. Making sure those who need the help will get it and not be abandoned. I think it is being handled well but, it is nerve wracking seeing the ghost cities. I hope everyone is still doing alright. This feed has had a decent amount teasing towards the virus and notes for fear for family members. What has anyone noticed as a community impact which is positive since covid arrived in your neighborhoods? Like I said, for me, food bank, some restaurants, optical clinics, pet stores, vets - are offering outside services, and door drop off delivery services, AND free food to those who are in need. Its nice to see the community come together well still distancing themselves.
  8. Same hahah, all you can eat is dangeroussss. Gym days hahaha I LOVE TO COOK TOO. And bake, baking is fun. We should compile recipes 0-0 lol
  9. Soft opening until Thursday to see if we can even get people to visit....might be on a longer vacation then I thought. Canada has closed a lot of gov. spaces and people are officially nervous to be social. Its here now ^^;

      Stay strong & stay healthy, friend.

  10. I...want to do this 0_0 but I'm busy now XD Ohmygerd. I hope someone does. If I get a chance to doodle though I'll throw it up that's funny.
  11. Schools in my province closed, all the restaurants are empty. Having a drink at a popular hangout place and there's only 3 tables full hahah.

    We're opening a new store in a few days hahaha....timing ^^;

  12. Centipedes. A swarm of centipedes would freak me out. Spiders touching me that would also really bother me. I heard there was a lot of crop issues and a larger than normal amount of locusts but it was in passing. I didn't realize how bad it was though until reading this.

    I can imagine, historian with the military? That's awesome about the research material. I'm like Belle from beauty and the beast wandering into libraries hahahah awestruck *-* That's to bad about the forced break hopefully it will end positively and you'll be able to spend more time on personal affairs vs work. Do you like to read anything not pertaining to work? Or are they all similar in style to what you read on the job?
  14. I'm so glad I saw this thread. This anime looks really interesting. I would have never checked it out before. Just one question, is it more humor trying to figure out love, or is it going to bring me down to gut wrenching tears what is love? I could really go for the humorous one right now haha The animation looks pretty from pics too.
  15. @Nova that looks like a giant HK egg tart :3 I've baked egg tarts that look almost identical ...much smaller I LOVE dimsum egg tarts :3 Ice cream (Oreo or pralines and cream) are my go to when I'm feel sad, or down. (My friends like to bring that up when I'm feeling blah). Satay pho soup Favorite spices are saffron and cardamon Sushi Coffee (1 sugar, a bit of almond milk), chai, Tea Lattes (English breakfast tea), Almost any juices (except if its too sour) Pineapple (fire grilled with cinnamon and sugar) BUT I'M A HUGE FOODIE, so I'll try anything at least once and then hate myself for probably eating to much and then drag myself to the gym because FOOD. We just got a really awesome Korean BBQ restaurant and a new Karaage restaurant to the city. Mmmm
  16. I'm not into lolicon. Lolita fashion is adorable though welcome to the forums!! Looking forward to seeing you around ^^v
  17. My japanese teacher just called me ターシャ which is technically my real nickname haha
  18. It's going to be -28 (Celsius) including wind chill. It was -2 yesterday... Friday the 13th weather. *snow storm warnings* And I'm back at work today hahahah hello bad drivers
  19. My eyes are green. I'd totally love my eyes to be pink or violet. One can dream
  20. I agree with @The History Kid, it sounds like you are in a hot spot. I can see being in that position it being a little more prudent to stock up more if there are travel bans (to even leave your house ). I heard on the radio that the US is now adding a travel ban to countries that are hot spots(?) I can see situations where you have no control over your decisions to be a lot scarier than places where it is not as hard hit. I hope you and yours will be until things improve. My sister is a teacher as well, her school has not closed, however they have taken up strict hand washing and re-establishing repeatedly to their students proper hygiene. Worst case they close and open after a certain period of time. But, Canada has not had anything beyond safety protocols. I agree with you on being nervous to go to the hospital when there are so many sick people heading there as well. Your situation is quite unique and I hope this thread hasn't devalued your feelings at all. Again, all the best I aim to please hahaha. Besides, what better way to know whats going in the world with no added agenda attached?
  21. We have to wait until flu season is over before people notice anything else going on lol
  22. Thanks for the anime rec. I watched the first few episodes of Ascendance of a bookworm. I like how determined Maine is to find a book also her random life improvement moments hahah. The closing song is really soothing!

      Ohayotaku

      Glad your enjoying it so far. It’s pretty slow to start, mainly focusing on the many set backs of her new life. But she’s determined not to give up & at least she has a loving family. Lots of world building too. Magic doesn’t appear to play much of a role at first, but becomes more evident. While she hasn’t achieved her dream by the end of the first season, she does make considerable progress & shows she is not to be under estimated even if she is in a frail child’s body.

      I actually don't mind the slow start. It really is setting the scene for the viewer to get into her world. I assumed more would happen anyway. I feel like a lot of new anime almost jump into the story without enough background info and it leaves you feeling like you're missing something important. I agree, I like how she is conquering so many challenges with one goal in mind. I'll def come to you for more recommendations in the future ^^v

      I may have just binge watched the whole first season ^^;;; I'm so excited for the second one now 0_0 (sorry had to share haha)

  23. uh eww. =-= I think its fair to stock up on your medications you usually take, up to a certain time period (looking at it almost like you're going on a month vacation. What are my essentials; what would be difficult to come by). When I went to the store to get antibiotics for my cold I received so many nasty looks I was totally to myself, responsible for my coughs, where I was touching, and hand sanitizing. I feel for those who might be mistaken for sick and having the panic around them go sideways. My friend brought up another point. She's Chinese and sent me a message saying "wondering if white people would get harassed or shunned in the streets if COVID-19 had begun in Europe" and then I was telling her I think anyone will get shunned at this point for even a sniffle. Please don't be like Thai monkeys and panic....we have better faculties to use. (also ps. totally googled that after =3= haha I don't believe in feeding wild animals...I mean I get that its a cultural/temple, but...you mess animals up by doing that and cause more harm than good....case in point)
  24. Sherbet, because its creamier Have you ever completed anything on your "bucket list"?
