1. I wanted this to be my first yuri series, but that honor goes to Bloom Into You. I was a bit concerned that this might have a lot of fan service in it, so I guess I should of asked that instead...but I was sleepy... ------- I'm sure I'll like it. If it's even somewhat serious then it's something I can enjoy. ------- No, I don't mind drama, in fact I love drama. I look forward to watching Kiznaiver once I have a open slot, I hope you'll let me share my thoughts with you when I do.
2. Hello GreenEyes, maybe you can help me. There's a title I've been thinking about for a while now and I'd greatly appreciate your help. It was a magical girl anime where these two girls meet and become...well, magical girls, but it's revealed that met at a festival when they were kids. I believe one had brown hair, while the other had blue hair, but I don't know and I could be wrong about both of their hair colors.
3. Hey, I've heard of that anime. Was thinking about getting into it...are you saying it's no good?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBaqtDBo3To Good song by the way.
4. Maybe psychotic is a bit much, but she likes her "fallen angel" alter ego and usually breaks out into it, where she is convinced that she is angel cast out from heaven and claims to have "little demon" that follow her. This is initially to her dismay. She likes to wear occult clothing and preform black magic and can often be seen attempting to cast a curse. Perhaps it would more fitting to call her crazy as, despite all this, she is actually harmless.
5. In a case where it's clear when they're truly speak english and the dialogue's not just being translated for us, I suppose it's alright. When they just randomly say a english word in the original version, you mean? Yeah, I was wondering about that. There might be a few english words that are popular in japan, but I don't think most japanese people know english well enough so as to understand a entire sentence spoken in english, which is clear when the characters try to say a sentence and end up adding syllables, this is also clear when one is saying a foreign name, and there are times when they say the words right but their grammer is just terrible. In short, it doesn't make sense to do this if it's just going to cause confusion. It's especially strange to hear english in a sub when you're watching a show aimed at children. RepentantSky-senpai, not to be rude, but can you please add spaces within your paragraphs? It can be hard to read through a long post when you don't. Also a lot of what you said seems to have little to do with what I was talking about, I apologize, this is probably my own fault for not going into depth about what I meant. So let me try again, there are a few anime where english is spoken commonly. A example of this is Ichigo Mashimaro, where one is the characters (Ana) is from the United Kingdom but doesn't speak english. She initially tries to hide this fact while learning it again and the other characters also try to speak english because of this. So with a anime like that I think it would make for a poor dub where a lot is lost in translation.
6. Anime: Love Live Sunshine Characters from left to right: Chika Takami, You Watanabe, Riko Sakurauchi, Ruby Kurosawa, Hanamaru Kunikida, Yohane, Mari Ohara
7. Right now I'm watching a total of 15 anime, Which is the smallest it has been in a long time. I was hoping to narrow it down to 10, but I'm kind of getting weary of watching episodes of the same anime within close proximity of one another. What should I do? Anyways, the shows I'm watching right now are: Sailor Moon Log Horizon, after being stalled for a while Hataraku Maou-sama! Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Fate/Stay Night InuYasha Boku No Hero Academia season 2 Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Love Live: School Idol Project season 2 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders Hunter x Hunter Kill La Kill Persona 4: The Animation
8. Another thing with the original audio track, is when characters speak english from time to time, or even in just one scene. But in the english dub, that would make no sense since they're already speaking english.
9. But Optic-senpai, didn't you think the relationship between Chika and Riko was sweet? I think with music anime in general, people might find it weird to go between the english and japanese voice for when characters are singing.
10. Right now I'm obssesed with . I'm back to watching that show, so I'll be hearing this song a whole lot. Before that it was Selector Infected WIXOSS OP 1, actually I'm still obsessed with it. The beginning sounds like a Sonic Unleashed song, doesn't anyone think so?
11. That's good to hear! So you know where I'm coming from, right? Sorry that I'm not able to give you my opinion regarding your Blue Exorcist idea, as I have yet to read that series. Should I do that right away? >= D (Serious/determined face)
12. "You started to lose your touch right after you started to think you had a chance." - Lt. General Grumman, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
13. Yeah, okay. We can do that right now if you want.
14. First off, welcome to this place. If you're looking for good action anime, I'd say My Hero Academia, Hunter x Hunter and World Trigger are some good ones to start with. That last one might be better to put up as a manga though. As for good romance, you'll definitely want to check out Toradora. I hope to see you around.
15. There was a manga released not too long ago called QQ Sweeper in which the characters dive into the collective consciousness in order to free the mind of people inflicted with bug-like creatures that feed upon the emotionally weak. Persona 5 did a similar concept with Mementos in which the characters also went into the collective consciousness, the main difference being that they were trying to change the hearts of people with distorted desires. But the general idea is the same.
16. Ore No Imouto Ga Konnani Kawaii Wake Ga Nai. It's about a brother (Kyousuke) whose little sister (Kirino) hasn't spoken to him for quite a while and after he accidentally comes across a eroge game, it is revealed to be owned by Kirino, who turns out to be into visual novels with little sister heroines. But that's not the strange part, that comes after she forces him to start playing the games. After the initial shock it becomes less bizarre (no it doesn't) and I would say this is a good anime for newcomers (no I wouldn't) and you'll become attached to Kirino (if you like tsunderes). Jokes aside, I've just finished watching the first season and I have to say, I would of liked to seen a larger focus on the sibling relationship as well as more progress toward repairing their supposedly broken relationship, but there are some dramatic moments that make me feel it was worth watching, but it wasn't what I was hoping for.
17. Kurome from Akame Ga Kill is another good one.
18. Yeah, I think I understand what you mean. I don't try to judge a song based on the anime itself, but I guess there's a few cases where I would. I'm glad someone can appreciate this song though.
19. Anime: Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Character: Hatsutaro
20. No, it's alright, it's my fault for not structuring my post properly to begin. Fan service is very prominent in anime, I think there needs to be less anime with it in it, because of the issue it creates socially. But beyond that, it doesn't really do otakus justice if the majority of anime have that kind of stuff in it, since we're already shunned upon by society, perhaps to varying degrees depending on where you live. And even if not, there ARE those of us that would simply prefer not to have this stuff in our anime, so they need to stop assuming that everyone who watches anime wants to have fanservice, as it seems the anime industry has been doing.
21. I did read through your post and what I was trying to say was that a high schooler being considered a adult, as you briefly mentioned, added to the fact that they are sexualized constantly in anime and manga, might give some people the idea that sexual harassment or things far worse is okay. I decided to focus on women because I felt it was a bigger issue, as I do fell they are overly sexualized in general. It was not my intention to disregard your agrument, you're right in that it is a issue for both genders and I should not have focused on just one or the other, but I failed to get across what I was saying in either case. You're right that a lot of what I said was unrelated to the topic.I should of posted those things in another topic, but really, in another place altogether, as it doesn't really have any impact if do it here. I apologize for that. I was also careless with my words, I deeply apologize for that as well.
22. I like all breeds of anime as long as they're somewhat serious. But I will avoid comedy, because that genre tends to be completely idiotic. Nor do I want to watch a series that's heavy in fan service and I will avoid ones that are over 70 episodes long.
23. I don't think it should matter whether or not they're considered adults, as even though going to high school is optional in japan (look it up), a lot of people still do it. It seems a lot of anime and manga nowadays tend to have fan service in it, and you better believe it has a negative effect on society. Women are so overly sexualized in media and such these days, but they shouldn't be defined by their looks. And people being denied jobs and higher pay because they're female? ...Can this whole world just burn down...? But in all actuality, I would like to see more unattractive characters in anime, particularly female characters because every girl is cute in anime, but that needs to stop.
