Picked up Call of the Night again and got current on it. The twists of the most recent episode are likely to keep me engaged enough to finish the cour, but the biggest obstacle to my enjoyment remains Ko (the male lead). A couple episodes prior a character accused him of “talking out of his ass “ and I think it sums up his character perfectly for me  Way more annoying to me than Shinji from Evangelion or Thorfinn from Vinland Saga.

i've never heard of any of the ones you mentioned, gonna have to add them to my list and check them out. 

also there's a FINAL final season? aot really said sikeeee with season 4 lol but i was so eager to finish it because watching towards the end had me in a hell of a emotion roller coaster with eren. also unpopular opinion but; i disliked gabi so much for some reason, did not enjoy watching her

I haven’t read the manga but for the record I’m NOT expecting a feel good ending (my guess would be more like Evangelion) and negative feelings towards both Gabi  & Eren are actually pretty common during the final season.

I’m at a loss as to what Nazuna sees in Ko, unless all she’s after is his blood in the end. If this show gets a second season and he doesn’t improve as a character, I think I’m probably gonna pass on it.

I think she & the other “cougars” view him as naive & innocent and find it charming and nostalgic. But the other way of looking at is as immature, ignorant & pretentious. It’s seems like a kind of a companion  trope to the chunibiyo.

didn’t drop out of school because I’m struggling or being bullied, it’s just not “fun”. Becoming a vampire will allow me to avoid getting a boring job & becoming a member of “grown-up society” and all it’s hassles. I Don’t really understand what it means to be in a relationship, but it’ll work out because girls just naturally like me

I'm kind of at a loss as to what to watch lately.  I mostly prefer science fiction and nothing lately is even coming close.  I find myself mostly leaning towards rewatching older stuff, but if I considered it good then I've probably seen it.  That or it isn't accessible on any of the streaming sites that I have access to.  If it was good enough to re-watch then I probably have it on DVD anyway.  I don't have the leisure of rewatching marginal (imho) material either.   I'm spending more time gaming than watching anime.

Currently watching Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, an amusing Magical Girl series where the Magical Girls aren't at all magical and posses no magical powers at all.  While great fun to watch there is a serious story underlying the craziness.

Finished up Overlord S4. And so it all comes to a head this season. But seriously y'all, I have reasons to think Princess Renner is evil in its purest form..... I know, call me crazy. I kept remembering she met with Albedo in the middle of the season, but it seemed for the longest time that it was an insignificant happening because it was downplayed and mostly not touched upon through the rest of the episodes.... until this one. That song she sings near the end of the episode and the revelation of what she plotted was brilliant (and chilling). All I'll say is... poor Climb. I'm definitely glad I'm not him.

I rather liked the characters of Kaoru, Aoi & Miyabi, but then they added the other girls:

blonde American who likes to grab other girls’ boobs

clumsy big boobed girl with glasses who frequently wears a maid uniform

dark skinned loli

I finally finished Call of the Night. Finally.

This show was weird, because it was kind of hard to get through due to awkward characters (Kou in particular), and yet I wanted to see how it ended anyway. I thought the final scene was a nice touch, but I seriously don't get what Nazuna sees in Kou. Bah... anime, am I right?

If they renew that series, I might give the first 3 episodes a chance, but if Kou hasn't undergone a somewhat significant degree of character development, given what has now happened between him and Nazuna as of the end of S1, I'm probably going to drop it. Not really in any hurry to see it, though. 6 out of 10, IMO. Were it not for the visuals and music, I would probably give it 4.5 out of 10.

I'm part way through watching Kurogane Communication. Following a major world war all the cities are in ruins and robot fighting machines roam the land. In the episode I've just watched the young girl, who the story revolves around, wanders round the ruins and finds a page from an old newspaper which is dated 2020.
As the series dates from 1998 the creators don't seem to have held out much hope for the world and expected it to be totally destroyed just 22 years later.

So, I finished Attack on Titan the other day with Marathon Guy. I thought it was good, but some animation and designs of the titans was really bad. Like some of the fights were top tier. I also finished Case Study of Vanitas. So, I'm now focused on three anime, the first I started yesterday Spy x Family. It been on my radar, a lot of people on here talk about it, must say the first episode got me to laugh which is rare as often I don't find anime that funny. Beyond Spy x Family, I'm going to start watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes Collison and Magia Record Eve of the Awakening next. 

I'm also likely going to do another watch of Death Note, cause a friend wants to watch it.

I watched the first ep of the 2nd cour & it did not disappoint, having evetything I like about the series. Anya cracks me up with her facial expressions & the things she says. Yor misunderstanding what’s going on but still managing to look cool. And Loid trying to juggle his family & “work” responsibilities. And the newest member of the family showing he’ll fit right in.

Also the 1st ep of My Hero Academia season 6. Nothing spectacular but a solid start to what is framed as a pivotal arc

 

I’d actually forgotten that Eraserhead’s & Present Mic’s classmate/friend was a victim of early Nomu experimentation & it was a good point to show them having a very personal grudge against the mad scientist. And we got to see musclebound rabbit girl in action (apparently just the beginning since next week’s ep is named after her).
