  1. Here's a few shorter ones I enjoyed: Gunbuster FLCL Angel Beats
  2. I can usually watch three series at a time. I used to try to keep up with more than that but it just doesn't work for me. Sometimes with longer shows (100+ episodes) I may watch one regularly for a few weeks and then switch to another show, and I kind of cycle through them like that.
  3. I want to read the manga. Unfortunately I worked up insane levels of hype when I first heard about it long before it was released, and when I finally watched it... it was good
  4. Manga. I don't know if it's translation issues or that light novels are like pulp fiction, but light novels in English that I've read seem mediocre. Maybe my opinion of them would change if I could read them in Japanese with a better understanding of Japanese culture.
  5. Kinda looks like they could use one, but a handshake would have to do.
  6. It is available on Crunchyroll for free if streaming is an option. You should check out the manga too, and maybe the Garden of Words manga (haven't gotten it yet) if it has more to add to the narrative.
  7. I liked it and just re-watched it since it's so short. The visuals are what I've come to expect from Shinkai, really nice. Considering the run time it was nice that the characters were fleshed out satisfactorily, but in spite of that 5cm/s is still Shinkai's best to me. Although if I'd experienced events similar to those in the movie I'm sure I'd like it a lot more than I do
  8. If I could've I would've picked all three!
  9. Eva. It helped me to realize that my worldview, at that time a religious one which had been basically given to me by my parents, was just a drop in the bucket, and that I could always make sense of all the seemingly crazy stuff that happens in the world through a simple change in perspective.
  10. The Monk by Matthew Lewis. I can't believe I've been missing out on gothic horror all these years when it's right up my alley.
  11. @WedgyIs that the Witch-King of Angmar?
  12. I remember watching this late at night and I fell asleep during several episodes, so maybe it deserves a re-watch sometime in the near future. The soundtrack was memorable; there's some tracks, like "Key of the Twilight" I put on some mix CDs I still listen to. Has anyone played the games? I was planning on it but they were a bit pricey last time I checked.
  13. [mal type=anime id=2973] Maybe Fire Tripper? It's the first thing that came to my mind.
  14. It’s great! I never need recommendations because there’s always another classic show I haven’t seen. Just started Mobile Suit Gundam by the way
  15. I like that it got me to check out a story I probably would have ignored otherwise. All I'd seen were some pictures of the 1972 series and I wasn't impressed, so I never looked into it much until I saw the trailers for Crybaby. I love the concept of a demonic superhero, and especially Devilman's design for this series in particular after going back and seeing some of the old series and OVAs. The art style was rough, sharp, and edgy, which I think looked better than if a more traditional style had been used; Go Nagai's original art wasn't conventional either, at least by today's standards. I'm not surprised to hear that Devilman served as inspiration to Kentaro Miura and Hideaki Anno.
