Not something I'd listen to on its own, but is definitely a good BG Soundtrack and was implemented really good into the show! 7/10 Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - Puella in Somnio -

Not really my cup of tea -especially the latin gives me PTSD from Latin in school, and has some Ameno vibes, lol- but I like the mix of different style. 6/10 Ergo Proxy - Opening (Kiri by Monoral) -
What is everyone currently watching? What are your thoughts!?

Finished March comes in like a lion 2nd season, and Re:Zero, was pretty darn good - dunno why I haven't watched it when it was hyped... feel like watching something by Yuasa - I think I'm going to rewatch Tatami Galaxy! -
Do you have IRL friends who watch anime?
leinwandname replied to anime4eva's topic in Anime Discussion
I think it might be due to stigmas tied to anime and its community. And if someone who has never watched an anime searches for it on google they are probably getting bombarded by pictures of either the big shonen anime, which, if they don't like these action driven series, might have an offputting effect, or some magical girl, or fan service anime - all of these could be daunting to someone who likes more "down to earth shows" and would probably enjoy anime like Monster, Cowboy Bebop, Psycho Pass. Just assuming though, everyone gets other results on google tailored to their previous searches... Getting into a media when the first things you see are shows you don't care about, is hard. Like trying to get into metal and all you listen to are the over-the-top aggresive songs while metal has considerably 'calmer' songs - I hope this makes sense :P -

I love RP, though I've only experience with pen and paper (for non-PC/console RPG). With a group of good people and a good GM, its so much fun to either have dead to ground serious characters and RP them, or create goofy and stupid characters and derp through a meticulously created world, :P. (I just love large and detailed worlds just as I like creating them in my head and sometimes writing them down just so they can catch dust in some folder of my PC, lol) But as long as everyone role-plays their char, either a serious one of a goofy one, its just fun experience - I think I had my best gaming experiences with a couple of friends, sheets of paper, dices and pens. I've seen RP threads on some forums I'm on but I never tried it out ... for some reason I can't explain >.>... but always wanted to!

So, for the one from ArchieKun 9/10 - love this OST, slow, emotional with a hopeful twist towards the end. One of my favs OSTs of recent anime. FLCL - One Life -
Yes, Case Closes is a... slight... bit longer than most anime, (but definitely worth the watch!!) so I'd recommend starting with something shorter like Another, Paranoia Agent and/or Psycho Pass (PP has 22 eps)

Yeah, the hiatus are really depressing... though they're a good chance to reread the manga and I always see/find somethin new that I missed before but if you don't like waiting ... you better wait another 20 years until the manga is finished, lol

So ... with rate you mean something like x/10? If so, 8/10 ... really like this kind of music! Katanagatari - Ao dai -
When they take either too much freedom in translation (unless its Ghost Stories :P) or stay too faithful to the original. You have to change stuff to make it bearable in anothe language, like above mentioned with "Onii-chan", etc... I also think it depends for who they translate - for children they have to change things so the children understand it, while translations for people familiar with anime can use some expressions or words from the original. FLCL is a good example of the latter - I'd actually suggest to watch it in english rather than in japanese. For most anime, I'd watch it in japanese, but some can be watched in english, and some, I think, should be, like FLCL and Panty and Stockings ... and for some reason Lucky Star - can't stand the japansese voices in there.

Though I think it has also some good thriller and suspence moments - and of course comedy :P I'd also recommend Erased, though it has its problems and opinions on it are divided, I like to suggest it. Oh, and Case Closed, though not all episodes can be considered thrillers.

Baccano! Though its probably more mystery, its suspenseful, I think. And Paranoia Agent, definitely this one, by the great Satoshi Kon.
-
Berserk and Vinland Saga - I'd say Vagabond, but I think its not just on hiatus but on an actual break. All three of them basically made me veeeery patient with manga and their translations. >.> Then there's Again!, Historie, Happiness, Azumi, Jisatsutou, Drifters, Gunka No Baltzar and Home Sweet Home - though that one's a technically not a manga?...

Apart from those mentioned: Texhnolyze Serial Experiments Lain Baka no Test Legend of the Galactic Hero Black Lagoon Elfenlied Paranoia Agent Baccano! FLCL Daily Lives of Highschool Boys --- maybe the greatest comedy anime ever! (at least for me) Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Zankyo no Terror Trigun Movies: Wolfchildren --- just a feels trip and a wonderful one! Everything where Satoshi Kon was involved. Esepcially: Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, Paprika, and Jin Roh

Though that's only sometimes, when I don't want to do anything, like gaming, reading or whatever. For example, lately I've managed to keep about 12 eps per day because its simply too hot to think and just connecting my laptop to the TV and watching anime is less exhausting than doing... anything else >.>But when I watch anime I try to keep around 5 eps on days off or 2-3 eps when I go to work/school.

Depends how its done, and by whom. Berserk 2016/17 is a good example on how not to do CGI granted they managed to mess up pacing and everything else except the music and there are good examples on how to do it, like Boro the Caterpillar. It really depends on how it affects the rest of the anime - I do think that certain animation styles or art styles would suffer from having CGI. Overall I agree with Archiekun, if story, pacing and characters are well done, and the CGI doesn't look awful, like really awful, I don't mind.

M&B II Bannerlord... just hope my rig can handle it, and Imperator Rome, same problem, though.

Austria - close to our second largest city which feels like a village if you've ever been to an actual city...

Do you have IRL friends who watch anime?
leinwandname replied to anime4eva's topic in Anime Discussion
2 friends who watch anime occasionally, mostly keeping up with the long running series and sometimes watching some hyped anime like One Punch Man, etc... 2 friends, or more like an aquaintances, who watches a lot of anime but I usually don't do stuff with them, so I wouldn't say that I have friends who watch anime as excessively as I do. I probably would know more anime fans IRL if I went to a con but I never went to one because... I don't see the point of going there alone... though, I think I could get the two friends to go with me, they're kinda up for anything, but I have the feeling that going to a con means spending money and I don't like that stuff >.> -
