  1. I've used (or am still using) several usernames on the internet over the years, most are simply there to sound cool (Except one, which has a little funny story behind it) and lately I've predominately used names that involve puns in German/Austrian German and uses Austrian colloquialisms to confuse some Germans on the internet. My current one though, just literally means screen name (you'd translate it differently into German, I used a literal translation which you wouldn't use since no one would instantly know what you mean) And if you translate my name back into English you might also say 'canvas name' and since a 'canvas' is a often used word with GUI I thought it might be a fun name, because the name is written on a digital canvas. Also, I like to think that a native English speaker might pronounce the 'Lein' as 'Lain' who is my profile pic. (Apart from that, it might be hard to read for an English speaker, so I don't think I'll use this name that much again...)
  2. Rewatched Darker than Black and now watching Gemini - for some reason I never watched that season (even though I watched Gaiden...)... Halfway through and I like it so far. Very different from the 1st season but that's not necessarily bad.
  3. Spoiler for Katanagatari Spoiler for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
  4. Maybe Haruko Haruhara playing the bass - I mean, going really, really ham on that instrument frozen in a drawing? Or Shichika Yasuri from Katanagatari in a suit might be funny >.>
  5. Changed the WP of my VM on my laptop from he standard Fedora 28 WP to a pic of the Rickenbacker 4003 bass.
  6. Good ... good OST from a great Anime, but there are better ones from Steins;Gate and this one isn't particularly striking. 5/10 Akame Ga Kill! - Kinpaku
  7. Can't really say much about it... 5/10 Darker Than Black Gemini - Opening (Tsukiakari)
  8. Honestly though, I don`t know that many scary/horror anime (I think we should draw a line between scary anime that try to...well scare you... and true horror anime. I think Ghost Story is more the first one) so I con`t exactly say if it is a good anime of this genre. I found it decently enjoyable, something I might rewatch with a friend in one night. I agree that the an abridged series can boosts an anime`s popularity, --that`s a really good and often overlooked point you make there!-- as some people might think "I wonder whats the original like" or "Woah, does this logical error that they point out really exist in the original" (YGOTAS does this hilariously well) or "Man, haven`t watched it in years, let`s rewatch it". I had this happening to me when I watched YGOTAS since I only had fond childhood memories of it and didn`t look at it so critically, and then coming back I still liked it but it was also really funny - entertaining in general! In fact, I kind of got into YGO in general because of it and even returned to the card game for some while <.<(boosting the sales of the cards) Win-Wind for the abridged maker and the original creator
  9. And there is the English dub - I think the original abridged <.< But yes, it isn't that bad of an anime as some think. Burikkos, the way they talk and behave in anime, is just annoying and needs to stop.
  10. Ah, right. this anime existed - watched it when I was younger! Never heard the Jap. OP, but its pretty good. 6/10 PSG - Anarchy (We are Angels)
  11. Unique, I think, but took me a few times to really get into it. Not necessarily my cup of tea but nonetheless a song I enjoyed. 7/10 The Perfect Insider - Opening
  12. That was ... very touching. MiA is one of the anime that I have heard so much about but didn't watch since I'm not a seasonal watcher - makes me regret it! 9/10 Perfect Blue - Angel of Love
  13. I've never kistened to rappers who do only anime rap, but there are some who either reference anime regularly or make a few songs about anime. Some rappers of the Midnight Society for example, most notably Original God, some songs of Kamiyada, and Auxxking. But from the Midnight Society, OG is the one who does the most only-anime rap songs, also he raps some parts in japanese sometimes. (F.e. Anime DVDs, House Of Terror or Kizumonogatari) They also often use game/anime soundtracks as samples for their songs (OG has one song were he uses the sample of a nightcore song for his metal song, or for one song he uses the scream of a girl from what I think is a hentai as sample >.< Weir, but definitely creative) but most of their songs are very agressive, so if you don't like that... Then there's Maxxkii who probably is more of an otaku rapper with songs like Obito's Pain, or Kid Goku. Then there's Okaminokami, who does a few anime themed songs here and there, and Scarlxrd often takes the voices of anime clips for the intro of a song or puts them before his the last part (like in 'King, Scar' or 'fxour/AM') but he's overall a scream rappers with a punk and metal background with very agressive songs who references anime here and there, so if you don't like that... XavierWolf has, If I remember correctly, several songs about anime, mostly about Inital D. I'm definitely going to check out the ones you mentioned!
  14. And the choreography (weird when talking about animation) was also really well done with historical techniques. (funnily enough, I found the anime through the video of a youtuber who practices HEMA and analyzed a fight scene of the anime) Granted, one could nitpick and question if characters in that place at that time could know certain techniques but that be, well, nitpicking. Too bad the characters in the anime seemed kinda bland...
  15. So, fighting anime with fights similar to TG ... Have only scene the first season when it came out but if memory serves, these few that I know are similar: The Fate series Dead Man Wonderland Kill La Kill (I think the fights can be somewhat compared?) Bungou Stray Dogs Black Rock Shooter Just some fighting anime; Katanagatari (though it is heavy on dialogue) Berserk (the 90s anime... Not that 2016 abomination. And it's pretty gore-y) Drifters Junketsu no Maria (a very realistic approach to medieval fighting - at least for anime)
  16. Granted, but everytime you see or hear about one of these brawls when they happen, you'll be teleported to the field and thrown right into the fight. I wish I had a reading speed of 10 000 word per minute with a comprehension of 100%.
  17. Hmmm, very interesting, especially th violin in the bg. First, I though it to be good, and only good, but when I listened to it the second time it was really great. 8/10 Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki - Kito Kito (Dance of your Nature)
  18. Haven`t heard that one in a long time! Pretty good, and a nice clean voice, but overall isn`t very striking to me. 6/10 Tsukimonogatari - Sou Iu Yatsu
  19. When I`m at a club or a party which I usually don`t go often to but lets say 10-20 times a year - which is seldom if compared to other people of my age group. I do like to drink beer though. While I don`t drink alone, I always have some beer in my cellar to drink if a visitor or friend were to show up. And when I`m out eating and don`t have to drive I enjoy one or two beer - although, both cases are pretty rare too...
  20. Maybe we should advise people to put deaths of characters, or certain/important scenes in spoiler and write the name of the anime before that, maybe even which arc or episode, so people know if they want to read it? Anyway, march comes in like a lion season 2 hit me hard, especially the first half. A rollercoaster of emotions! Pokémon movie one Owarimonogatari S2 Kaiki's dialogue with nadeko in Hanamonogatari - you know which one if you've seen it!
