  1. I like actual travelling, not this new quicktravelling crap - I can walk from Whiterun to Solitude, dang it!! Seriously, we travelled a lot in school. In grade 6 we visited Munich, in 8th grade we went to France --a week in Toule and and three days in Paris-- in 12th grade we went to Italy --Toskana and Rome-- and in 11th grade to England, Cambridge. We visited Hungary and Slovenia in primary School, but I can't remember much about these two.... I liked all these places, though I`m not a fan of capital cities ... too crowded and you kinda have seen all the sites on photos - the smaller cities are always way more interesting to me. I often visited Croatia, Italy andLuxemburg (one parent is from there) during summer, but not so much anymore (except Luxemburg) I`d really love to travel through some countries and visit just their castles --I'm a huge fan of castles--, mainly France. Japan and the UK, but that kinda costs a lot .... And as I child I always wanted to visit the oriental countries (huge fan of the atmosphere) but considering the last 7 years or so, I don`t think it'd be a good idea...
  2. SEL is more .... abstract? ... than HR and Tex. While all three have metaphors, similes and hidden meaning, SEL just takes it a different level where objects and people and actions can mean a lot of things. I think its because of this that people think HR and Tex. are easier to understand and more approachable. All three still have discussions going on about what means what but SEL is the one with the most and most diverse theories, (from more pragmatic ones, to philosophical and even religious ones) I think. What I sometimes feel is odd, is, that some people seem to think that they have to like these shows ...
  3. Sancturary RPG on the Steamsale for about 35 cents - such an amazing game for almost nothing. Played it the last 2 days (or rather nights) and I enjoyed it thorougly. A couple of DLCs for EU4, CK2, and the Total War games. And Sunrider Academy and Sunrider Liberation Day. Liked Mask of Arcadius, so I picked up the other games.
  4. I do like to run regularely and there was a time when I played some basketball, not in a club but with some local children my age at the school's sports field - but I've stopped some years ago... For some reason, people always ask me if I work out because I supposedly look rather athletic, but I'm really a lazy bum (well, apart from the running every two days). And I do like hiking in the mountains every summer, thankfully we have a lot of mountains here. I have a HEMA-club in the city nearby which I intend to join but since I'm saving money to move and as of right now I don't have the time, I just took part in two classes (if that's the word?) so far. But they were amazing - exhausting but amazing! And I have a friend who does it, so whenever I'm at his place --which is not that often....-- he shows me some techniques. Definitely going to start doing HEMA at one point of my life.
  5. Python is widely used for data processing, analytics and the likes. It's easy to implement and not that ressource-demanding. It has a bunch of libraries like TensorFlow, Pyro, PyTorch (Pyro used PytTorch), OpenCV (though this one's also on C++, where I used it) etc. ... Many companies create their own libraries for whatever they need based on already existing ones. I think it was Pyro that was created for Uber and is now used in the scientific field because its such a good and efficient library for probability. If you know how to use it, Python can be very, very powerful. People often discredit it so much which I don't get...
  6. @Beocat I've read the Stormlight Archive so far (and dang it, book 4 probably won't come until 2020!) and I have Mistborn on my to-read list - I think I might start this series now that it's quality was validated by you (apart from the fact that it's by Sanderson!) The Noble Dead Saga, too, looks interesting. Definitely going to check that one out! Thank you! :-]
  7. Unless you consider War and Peace, Search for the Lost time and Bottom's Dream afternoon-reads. But if they're your favorites, sure, I'd gladly add them to my list!
  8. Took me some time to get through Heibane Renmei but finally did it - great series, might have one of my favourite endings, and might be one of my favourite shows! Now watching High Score Girl, need something funny and ... "emotionally demanding" - at least it seems so, head lot of good stuff about it!
  9. I'm currently reading The Fall of Dragons, the last book of Miles Cameron's Traitor Son Cycle (Link to the 1st book). Amazing series, I have to say. Miles Cameron is pretty good at making a medieval Fantasy world historically authentic which I haven't seen before, (The fact that he's a historian, HEMA practitioner and medieval enthusiast helps, though), his prose is great, though sometimes a bit hard for a non native speaker like me, everyone of his (countless) characters feels unique, as well does the magic system, and the world he crafted is intriguing. I'm waiting for a Box Set of the Monogatari (I got it on amazon) novels by Nisio Isin to arrive (Since it gets released on the 20th and takes some time due to overseas shipping I'll have to wait some more weeks) and I think I'll read The Silence of the Lambs (Read the first 2 books a long time ago but stopped right before lambs) before they arrive, or maybe Dazai's Schoolgirl - I think it is the only translated books of Dazai that I haven't yet read (Interestingly, there are two stories translated into German that never made it into English >.<). Originally I wanted to read TLODR (finally got the english books) or the Simplicius Simplicissimus but I think they are a bit too long to read before Monogatari arrives... If anyone has some short novels to recommend.... I'm open to (almost) everything >.>
  10. Changed to Vivaldi Browser and changed the startpage BG, thought it's fitting.
  11. So I have a PS2/3 and PSP, as well as a NDS and 3DS, though I mostly play on my PC these days. I loved the Ultimate Ninja, Tekken and Budokai series on the PS2, always played it with my brother. And MGS, ofc. Though I haven't played any MGS game that wasn't on the PS2 for some reason. And Persona 4, and the Final Fantasy games for the PS2 On the PS3 I continued with Ultimate Ninja Storm, but apart from that I don't think I played any other game series, just some random games here and there. On the PSP I played Persona 2 and 3 (3 is still my fav Persona game) and Monster Hunter Freedem/2/Unite/Portable 3rd (The number of hours I poured into MHU is four-digit...), as well as some of the FF remasters. And again some random games here and there. I played the Pokemon and Zelda games for the NDS, and MH4U and FE: Awakening on the 3DS There was also a time when I played lots of games on emulators on my phone (I didn't have the older consoles like the GBA, PS1, etc...) resulting in, counting the other games on the PSP, PS2 and PC, more or less playing every FF game until 11. And many of the older Zelda and Fire Emblem games. But in the last years I have predominantely played on my PC (though I want to get back to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate!) Overall, the game lines I enjoyed the most were the Final Fantasy, Persona and Monster Hunter games!
  12. What if yandere, lolicon sharks that can influence people's minds have already destroyed the earth? Having an emergency _______ can be useful when you _______.
  13. Just watched the first ep of Haibane Renmei and it was really, really good. Something well-paced, slow and calm is nice after watching the fast Magical Index II (Wanted to watch III but then I realized that I hadn't seen II). I'm interested on how it's going to continue!
  14. Welcome! Yeah, I know that reasoning... (I could've joined some anime club in the city but then I'd have to ... meet new people that I don't know.) What books do you read - what kind of Genre? What romance anime/manga did you like? (I'm trying to watch/read some more, so, I'm always on the prospect for some suggestions)
  15. Welcome! Your dad worked on Kiki's? That's awesome, it's my favourite Ghibli movie! So you technically have inside Information from the industry through your father? <.< Andyour father does animate (athough that's aften done in Korea and you sead you're Japanese,...) or one of the higher ups who have a say on how something's done? (Considering that he worked on two great movies and probably (?) has a lot of exp.) Or soemthing altogether different? Temptations... (; ° - °)
  16. "I`m in" - the typical hacker movie phrase. (do I have to use outdated leet-speech?)
  17. What an honour, but I can't compete with Draco, I fear, so you're in for an disappointment...
  18. One of my favs duos is Cocona and Parika from Flip Flappers!
